So while changing a light bulb in a lamp fixture on a Saturday, the bulb base arced a spark against the metal lining scraped the light fixture and half of our house went dark. It was a weekend. The first service provider I called to schedule my emergency fix (the garage door wouldn't open, basement sump not emptying water, etc.)for Monday, (some rooms dark) and got an offer for Monday service and no other answers. Called Michael and Son who lined up an appointment that evening. Our tech's name was Jesus and
his visit resulted in a few amazing upgrades in function and safety. He not only got the lights on and the sump working, but within the hour found and replaced the bad outlet, diagnosed & made our far from code standards fuse box useable, and inspected and insured that all outlets were operational, and the secondary fuse box was operational. He recommended replacement of a few systemic things that needed correction to both save us money and make our power more reliable. (replacing main fuse box, neon tube lights, fire alarms, grounding wires, etc. Although (I hope) we were his last call of the evening, he took time to explain everything he was doing and why. My wife & I feel much better about our that 30 + year old townhouse's safety now. We're confident and very happy that Jesus or someone talented, well trained equipped with the right tools parts & knowledge will come from Michael & Sons next time we call, whether for a routine inspection, upgrade or emergency. We had a leaky faucet in our bathtub; turns out it was the pressure regulator. Our technician Darryl was responsive and courteous and was able to identify and fix the issue during his initial visit.

Michael & Son sent their technicians to my house upon my request to assess the cause of a fire at my house. They were on time, very professional, and I like everything about their service. I highly recommend them, and will use them again.

Received a HVAC system, but unfortunately, there is an issue. The company refuses to correct the issue. When the temperature drops below 50- 40 degrees it will only be 68-70 degrees in the home, and the aux heat will come on which significantly increases our usage. The company is attempting to charge me an $89 diagnostic fee, and will not return my calls, and placing my account on hold? Customer service needs to be improved (Ms Fisher and Frieda). No issue with the technician Fredrico he was very patient to locate the issue. Not sure why the customer service went in the wrong direction. Be aware...

Our service person was very nice and knowledgeable and completed the work in a timely manner.

However, the work (electrical panel replaced) that was done to me is "incomplete" but according to M&S it is complete and we would have to get a "handyman crew" to fix the dry wall that the Michael & Son employee cut out and drilled back in a sloppy manner. I emailed Michael and Son's customer service and was told it's an additional cost for the dry wall to be fixed..usually costing $350 extra.

Also, originally we were going to use their "leasing program" in order for this unexpected job to be completed. We asked every question we could think of to our service person and the bank they use for this program. It was not explained that if we paid it off early that there would be a "buyout" to complete the 120 month contract they wanted us to sign. ($10k total)

This whole process to me was not very smooth and to honest "incomplete" due to the extra dry wall that had to be cut below the paneling.

UPDATE 4/7/22
We were told the job was "complete" about a month ago, however when the Dominion person came out today to inspect the final project, there was a copper wire that wasn't grounded. M&S had to come back out and complete the job a 2nd time.

We had a great experience with our technician, Eric Blackmon. The handle on our shower fell off when we went to use it the other day and we could tell it was beyond our ability to repair. He diagnosed the problem, fixed it (even when it proved a bit more difficult than we all thought initially!), and was clear and communicative for the whole process. We’d absolutely recommend him to others!

Took 2 trips to fix a leaking water pipe. First plumber said $450 for 10 min of work. He also told me to make a decision, he had other customers to help and class to attend to. However, those customers and class disappeared. After fixing the pipe he wanted to flush and drain the hot water heater which takes a few hours and was another $600. Almost immediately after he left the pipe was dripping again. The next day, although it was the same pipe, the second plumber charged me because, "the leak wasn't the newly replaced section of the pipe that the 1st installed. It was just beyond it. The charge suggests a expert professional, who should have identified the leak properly.

Bad Art with a Psychologist

The tech arrived on time and was very professional. He finished the job very quickly and charged me the same anount as a different company that had been here fir hours previously. I really appreciate him being efficient and organized. Job was well done.
