    Company had somebody out within 3 days to look at my heating and cooling and figure out what was going on. Tech was able to fairly quickly identify the issue with my heat pump and have the part on his truck to fix it and got my system up and going again. Clean, respectful, informative and professional care. Thank you very much

    Although Smart Choice provided good service, when the 1 1/2 year old Bryant heat pump malfunctioned and left me with outrageous electric bills and 55 degree temperatures in my home, the only assistance I received from Smart Choice was a telephone number for Bryant. I would strongly suggest using a provider that does NOT use Bryant products!

    Greg did an awesome job! At multiple points throughout the job he came to talk to me about what was going on and what he recommends needs to be done to my ac and heating systems.

    Very friendly and knowledgeable. Front office staff was great too!

    Unbelievable care and concern!!! We woke up on a really cold snowy day to find the heat not working in our house! I called and they worked really hard to get someone who could come help me that same day because I knew the temperatures would drop over night. The repair man tried to come and the roads were too snowy for his truck so he had to give up and said he could try again the next day in a different truck. I was preparing for a really cold night when I got another call from Smart Choice saying that Jose, the owner, heard about my plight and was coming to help! He had already clocked out and left for the day but he went back to the office, got a truck that could handle the snow and came to the rescue! He was able to get our heat back on and the kids were all cheering! We are so grateful he was so willing to go above and beyond to help us out! It was easy to see that he genuinely cared about us and was so knowledgeable he was able to diagnose and fix the problem. THANK YOU for going the extra mile!!!!!

    Derek and Brandon came out to diagnose issues with my HVAC system. They were very knowledgeable.

    I unfortunately have to change my review from a 5 star to 1. I still stand by my above statement but I was not accurately informed of the work and pricing. I was told $500 to test my system to find where the leak was. Turns out there was no leak. Now I have to pay $600 to have my system put back together and that was never communicated to me when they gave me the initial estimate. I am extremely upset because I would have gotten multiple estimates had I known and now I have already paid this company $630 just to find out that nothing was wrong and that my unit was just out of refrigerant.

    When my heat went out and I was looking for a fast appointment they happened to have a cancellation same day. Scheduled the appointment and got a call saying they could be there early. Agreed and they showed up within 20 minutes. Diagnosis took a few minutes then problem part was repaired. Tech was onsite for 40 minutes by the time the job and my invoice was complete. I was charged $137 for a diagnostics fee even after I told them the code it was throwing. When I’ve had the repair made in the past by another company they wave the diagnostics fee of you have them fix the problem right then if their able. This company did not do that. Got charged another $450 for the repair. I looked up the part which cost them $150. So I paid $300 for labor for a 30 minute repair. When I pointed out other companies business practice of waiving the diagnostics fee I was told that someone told me the fees are separate when I made the appointment. This was 100% false. Perhaps they meant to but were in a hurry trying to fill the cancelation. However the person who called me about my complaint, Brandon, said it as though it was fact. I explained he was either lied to or he doesn’t know what happened because I would have gone somewhere else had I known. I was also told the owner would be calling me to discuss the issue twice prior to Brandon calling but that never happened either. I’m disappointed with this company and their follow through on customer service. Everyone is happy to say what they think will get you to move on, but their concern about making happy/repeat customers is second to $. I get they’re a business with the intent on making profit, but they’re doing so at the cost of their integrity. Needless to say my family and all those who I’ve shared this story with in the area will be taking our business elsewhere in the future. Which probably won’t take long since the last time they came out and provided the same service at this house was only 5 years ago. Apparently the parts they use have a short shelf life. But it’s better than the 30 day guarantee they told me they offer. Do your research. There are plenty of companies who waive the diagnostics fee if you have them make the repair at that time. Brandon said they used to be more in line with this practice but chose to go a different direction. Sad.

    I've had multiple different companies out trying to diagnose issues with my Amana system that was installed by a shoddy company. They came out and were able to find that my thermostat was programmed incorrectly. Multiple companies got stumped by an air handler and didn't even think to check the thermostat.

    Technician Jacob was fantastic -- personable, knowledgeable and a fast troubleshooter. The scheduler was excellent, too. Jacob and I chatted as he diagnosed and then repaired our AC compressor by replacing the capacitor. He also shared a few maintenance tips that the homeowner can tackle. Fortunate it was "just" the capacitor because that's one of the "easiest" and least expensive items to have to replace to get your AC running again. Highly recommend Smart Choice Heating & Cooling.

    I recently purchased a house that had its AC and HVAC assessed by this company as part of the pre-sale assessment. They found low coolant pressures in a 20 yr old unit with a likely leak, and made no recommendations to the previous homeowner, and did not document any recommendations on their receipts. Our inspection of the house with report was unable to test the AC unit due to low temperatures on the day of inspection, but based on the lack of documentation previously in the pre-sale report, we were told that it was not likely a big deal. This lead to us purchasing a house with an AC unit that is broken and very expensive to repair, and needs replacing.

    When I had the same company come assess our unit, the same guy who did the previous assessment, without even looking at the unit, told me this would be a huge fix. He KNEW from his previous pre-sale assessment that this unit was old and broken, but did not discuss this with the previous owner or make any recommendations based on his assessment. They said it was just low because it was cold outside, when in actuality the most likely scenario is that it is an old machine with a leak, which they did not tell us. We had 2 separate companies come out and tell us that it was quite obvious this unit was busted, and they should have told us that during the initial assessment.

    When confronted about their lack of documentation or recommendations based on low pressure and a likely leak, they told us it was our fault and that they had no liability, despite the previous home owner paying for an escrow assessment. They offered us a small discount for a brand new unit with installation, but we could not in good faith take their offer, as this company is the reason we need a new AC unit in the first place. Super disappointing and we feel very taken advantage of.
