S&R did a great job installing a water softener. Rob was very responsive, took good care of our home and was very professional explaining fully the system we chose. We would highly recommend S&R.

Rob and his team were great to work with! We bought a house that S&R had previously installed and serviced with a heat pump and furnace. We noticed the basement was too cold during the summer when the AC was on and got very musty as we headed into fall. Rob explained how a whole-house dehumidifier and air exchanger would help us out. We noticed the difference almost immediately, and now our basement is actually comfortable and doesn’t smell anymore! This equipment also made the temperature on all three of our levels within 1 degree of each other, which previously varied by about 10 degrees. Icing on the cake is the new thermostat that looks cool and performs great! The installation was quick, well thought-out and executed nicely. We even had a small hiccup while working around another piece of equipment and Rob fixed it and made it right, which I really appreciated! It is fantastic to find a local company with great integrity! We signed up for their annual maintenance plan and look forward to working with them in the future!

Professionalism, responsibility, punctuality

I had a new HVAC system installed. I was referred to S&R Heating and Cooling by one of my neighbors that he used their services for many years. I called them and scheduled appointment with Rob. He showed up on time and spent as much time as I needed to go through all options based on quality and my budget. They don’t rush you to decide as some service providers do.
After my wife and I decided to go with them, I called Rob and set time for the installation within a week. Then, Rob and his team arrived on time on the day of installation and did an excellent job. Rob went through every detail they did and how we can use the thermostat. I am amazed by the neatness of the room when they left.
I highly recommend to everyone to use them if you are planning either to install a new HVAC or repair your old one.

Edit: initially I reviewed S&R at 5 stars but changed to 2 after a disappointing experience recently.

We initially had the team come out to replace the sump pump, have a few faucets replaced and service our air exchange. Prior to them coming onsite there was no quote or estimate so once we received the actual quote we were very surprised at the amount since it was significantly more expensive than we had assumed.

We also received a quote for a new furnace even though we repeatedly told them we were not interested and have a warranty plan in place should anything happen to our existing unit.

We ended up backing out of everything other than the air exchange service and replacing a filter and drain line on our humidifier. Somehow, This ended up coming to right around $700.

We were told that it was because they had blocked off the morning to complete the work so I believe we were billed for their time without receiving a quote or even an estimate.

It was very disappointing, mainly because we thought we found a solid and trustworthy team, but now we will have to find another company for future repair and services.

Rob and the entire S&R crew were an absolute pleasure to work with. From the start, they maintained a consultative focus with no pressure to make an immediate decision. You can tell they truly care about the work they do and the customers they serve. This was also apparent in my conversation with the inspector where he mentioned S&R is a top notch company and always passes with flying colors so he has no worry inspecting any project they do. Scott & Rob replaced our old furnace and air conditioner with a Bryant high-efficiency furnace and heat pump a/c unit, great equipment that helps us save $$$ on energy costs. Zone heating and digital thermostats allow us to set the right temps upstairs and down, even remotely. Full house dehumidifier helps keep our basement dry too. We are amazed at how much more comfortable the temperature is throughout the house. Not inexpensive, but worth it -- for years to come. S&R has been our "go-to" HVAC team for replacement and emergency service ever since we moved to the East Metro nearly 30 years ago. Great service, quality work, polite and friendly, knowledgeable and reliable guys. I highly recommend them.

Rob is very professional and he does quality work. He is very knowledgeable about his work and gives you the best options to choose from. He is honest and makes sure the job is done right. I highly recommend them for the job and will be using them for any future needs.

When we lived in Woodbury the first time, Rob from S&R Appliance handled our HVAC and appliance repair needs for over 12 years. Rob was always on time, friendly, trustworthy, honest and a superb technician. After 8 years we are moving back to Woodbury. When the home inspection revealed that the HVAC system required attention, it was a no- brainer who I would call. Rob came to our house on his day off and spent over 3 hours making a diagnosis, then doing adjustments and the repairs needed to make the system operable. We are once again on his home maintenance plan to ensure that the HVAC system and appliances will operate efficiently plus save energy. How would I describe S&R Appliance? The words from a Tina Turner song describe them perfectly....."Simply the best, better than all the rest"!!

I could not be happier! I switched to S&R from a larger Twin Cites company. They were able to service my AC, during an extreme heat wave, within 48 hours. Scott was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. Most importantly I do not feel that I overpaid and service call as clearly detailed on my invoice. I will be using them again!

Considering such high demand and the fact that we just bought a house and no one seems to show up on time, this was a good first impression. Rob quickly but thoroughly walked me through the options and we made a few upgrades along the way. He was not pushy with the bells and whistles which actually made decide to get them. #2. They installed everything exactly as described, left the place spotless, and gave up complete training on how to use the smart thermostat. We have used Scott and S&R team for many years. It is always a terrific experience. Recently we purchased a new Bryant furnace and A/C system. The systems work so well and were installed in a competent and professional manner. We have also purchased a hot water heater, kitchen faucet and had our pool furnace fixed! Excellent work in all instances!
