We’ve have on camera the tech saying our drain looked great. We called because we were worried too much water was draining. He said no that’s perfect, it’s draining / dripping as it should. Then he went to our attic, and guess what? Now it’s clogged and it won’t drain at ALL! Do you know what happens when the pipe gets backed up? It goes into the dry wall. You can see the water stains were the water perfectly ran until he clogged it. He also lied about our pipe being moved, said it couldn’t be covered bec it was installed “wrong”. Not true, he can’t say what was right or wrong 65 years ago. The pipe was ran correctly back then. Now unfortunately this is who our warranty uses, I’m waiting on a call back from them to see what I should do but J&J will have to fix or pay for this. Seems like they purposely cause issues to rack up a bill.
Arrived within the service window as expected. Received a courtesy call the day before and a direct call from the technician when he was twenty minutes away. Also received multiple texts/emails confirming the appointment time. The technicians were able to diagnosis the issue, and were very professional during the visit. Am still working with our home warranty company to fully resolve the issue, so this review may get updated later.
Well today was 31 days past from my last review. Actually they are much much much worse than what I thought . My AC is Already out of freon. What is funny the contractor collected a check from me and the company never reported that American home shield It appears this company is nothing but an scammer. My unit takes only 4 pound of freon but they charged me for 6 pound . technician didn’t fix the problem only put freon in to the AC and charged me $360 and I had to pay $100 to American Home Shield to send them in. A good company would fix the leak so this doesn’t happen again . He said that’s an order from the his boss only put Freon and nothing else In 4 month I have to pay another $360 because the leak is still there . Very poor quality of work and attitude from his boss and that company , After spending $460 I still have the issue. This company needs to get out of business, it nothing but ripoff.
DO NOT give a dime to these people!! If I could give them 0 starts I would. My elderly parents have now been without AC for two weeks. The first time they came out they diagnosed the issue. It then took them almost a week to get the part in. They came to fix the problem and they claimed the coil now had a hole in it. Why would you not see that the first time they came out! It has been anywhere from 86 to 94 degrees in their house!!! They were supposed to come out today and fix the coil and all of a sudden they had to order the coil IT will now be Tuesday before the coil comes in. Their phone calls have gone unanswered and not returned when they claim they will call back. The only reason they are using the company is be cause the AC is under warranty with them. It is sad they would do elderly people wrong this way.
It’s now 9:00 pm and they finally showed up. I’ll update my review once the AC is fixed.

-- BEWARE IF YOU HAVE A HOME WARRANTY -- I think companies such as J & J prey on home warranty users and intentionally misdiagnose issues for profit. Here's why: I had some repairs by J & J Mechanical conducted on my AC unit back in April and paid $838.35. The business communicated with me on and off for months. They sent out 4 different repairmen, the first didn't want to go underneath my condo to examine my air-handler/blower for no good reason -- which turned out to be the main issue -- the 2nd misdiagnosed the issue, 3rd couldn't speak a lick of english, and the 4th was actually pleasant and wasn't scared to go underneath my home and properly diagnose and fix the issue. Originally, I was told I had a particular issue with my AC unit and would need to have a part replaced, along with a full replenishment of very expensive aftermarket Freon. After waiting almost 2 months for the part to come in -- I had to call them to remind them of the part because they were taking so long, they clearly forgot to order the part -- they sent out a group of 3 men who spoke no English to repair the issue. I tried to communicate that I had some concerns about the part they were replacing and how I did not think it was the correct diagnosis. The men did not understand English at all and continued the repairs anyway. A couple of hours later, I noticed the problem was still not resolved, so I immediately called J & J Mechanical. They had a different repairman come out to diagnose the original issue. It took minutes for him to diagnose the problem and was resolved within a week at no-cost through my home warranty. The part that needed to be replaced the entire time was covered through my home warranty. This company has been a nightmare from start to finish. I reached out directly to the company to address my concerns and request a full refund for negligently misdiagnosing the original problem and the unnecessary Freon replacement. They said no and eventually stopped communicating with me after I provided some solidifying evidence that would confirm the misdiagnosis and support my claim. Ultimately, this company arguably provided fraudulent services and charged me for after-market Freon and a part that I did not need. This was a very costly misdiagnosis, and I have contacted the BBB for a refund. Find a better HVAC service.
My HVAC system completely shut down out of the blue and J&J Mechanical tech Carlos came over, figured out right away that the problem was caused by the thermostat being defective, and replaced it very quickly. After that the system was up and running again. Carlos also called 30 minutes beforehand to let me know he was on his way and he showed up exactly 30 minutes later. I thought he was very punctual, professional and competent. I only wished they could come out a lot sooner. But it was worth the wait.
If I could give negative stars, I would. This was by far the worst experience as a costumer in my entire life. First of all, they’re totally unprofessional, rescheduling our service SEVERAL TIMES, including one time they scheduled a service for the next business day, and on the day of, I had to call them to find out that they’re having a “mandatory” company meeting. They’re liars! Not only liars, but they also don’t know what they’re doing. They first told us we needed a unit cleaning, which of course was not covered by our home warranty. We then did that, paying $500 out of pocket for that cleaning. That DID NOT solve the problem. Now, J&J tells us that the problem was with the evaporator coil. Then, again, we had to pay $600 out of pocket for the parts that were involved with installing it. And guess what?! IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AGAIN! They’re not only a dishonest company, but clearly they don’t know what they’re doing. Now we have $1000 dollars in the trash! It’s to rip one’s heart out of his chest seriously. Do yourself a favor and NEVER work with this company EVER! And J&J please do us a favor and hire competent employees, or close your business and don’t waste people’s money and time!
The worst experience of my life - my home warranty company contracted J&J Mechanical when our system wasn't cooling. They came out 3 separate times within 10 days and still couldn't get the job done. The worst part of this was the disgusting attitude from Jamie - the office manager slash owner, so she claimed, who challenged me despite multiple conversations to send her picts of our system proving to her that some nests she claimed were removed. There were no nests at all - she was extremely condescending when I asked how to remove the a/c cover as this isn't something that is intuitive. I called Parobek within minutes of Jamie hanging up on me and they had a technician out within 1 hr. J&J couldnt even figure out that the wiring was wrong ... buyer beware as they call themselves an HVAC specialist!! Our system is working perfectly after a couple hours thanks to Parobek. Do yourself a favor and find another company to svc your HVAC with less headache and attitude. Wish I had the option to give them a Zero ... "1" is way too generous.
They took a long time to finish the task. 1. Took a long time for compressor to come 2. Upon installing compressor, they realized that condenser is needed, so new condenser was ordered. 3. Finally got both installed
Other than the everything else is working fine.. The thing I like to point out here is J&J does not find faults to decline the coverage by nitpicking, like most of the other repairs Co do.
