J&J was assigned through American Home Shield, they came out and filled Freon. A month or so later the house couldn’t keep up and wasn’t cooling the house, American home shield sent them back out. The technician told my tenant that it had Freon but the system was just old. Didn’t fix anything. Couple weeks ago my tenant says house won’t go below 80 degrees, I called American home shield and they said they would send them out again. I had a different company go out there, they diagnosed it and fixed it properly, while the contractor I called was there a regular car with no markings or TLDR license number or contractors license number on the vehicle and they said they were from J&J, my contractor questioned why they didn’t have license number on the vehicle and they left. I will be filing a complaint with the TDLR

Ask your home insurance company for another contractor. This company is beyond awful.

They removed the trims to the attic door in order to fit the evaporator coil through. After, they left without putting the trims back because they don't have the tools. Talking to customers service over the phone, they said that's normal practice. I don't think so.

They also charged us for a disconnect box, which was not in the intial quote. Let me just say the old one was working prior to their work, and mysteriously not working during their installation. They ended up blaming us for breaking the disconnect box.

Used Old Republic Home Warranty. Bought my house less than a month ago. The technician came to my house in Lufkin, a 2 hour drive. The technician did not seem pleasant, which I assume was the fact he had a long drive late afternoon. Had a heating problem, he stated we needed a new board and would get with Warranty company about the fix. 3 days later the Warranty company calls and says they can not cover the repair because the prior owner did not keep up with the maintenance. Called another air conditioner company on town. And they were able to fix it, because it was only a broken wire. Looks as if the technician was trying get more money out Old Republic.

J&J did a great job of keeping us up to date as to when our technician would arrive. He was here promptly. Once I explained our issues he quickly deduced the problem and explained in detail what was going on and how to prevent it going forward. He was thorough and professional. I would recommend them to others.

We had a great experience with J&J. The phone reps were friendly when I called. The technician, Gabe, came over and quickly diagnosed our A/C’s issue and was able to get it repaired in under an hour.

Do not use this company they are a complete scam. They gave me an estimate that would cost thousands of dollars and that was not even the issue. They were wanting to charge me for repositioning my unit because they did not know what they were doing or looking at. I hired someone else and the issue was fixed in 15 mins and 100 bucks not thousands. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! The woman that answers the phone is extremely rude and needs to be fired! No knowledge of what she is doing. I will be filing a formal complaint as they were trying to scam senior citizens.

If I could do no stars I would! I was using AHS and they gave us this horrible company to just give us a run around! This company seems to survive off of the crooked Home insurance warranty company! AHS and J and J are in it together and needs to be shut down! I have been needing my furnace fixed since March 3rd and I had to pay out of pocket to get my stuff fixed. The contractors are uneducated and in my process broke mu AC unit! Claimed he was fired for being lazy and horrible! But did the small things to get it running but still is not working 100 percent! They wanted us to use a furnace that is gas and not safe in our house stating it was fixed! Mind you this could blow our house up! The breakdown response was way overcharged and added things we didn’t need stating it’s so it can be up to Code! When that wasn’t true! The list goes on! Run from this company don’t use them at all I warn you!!! They are not about there customers they are about money!

This company was referred by American Home Shield and arrived before the appointment time and fixed the issues with no problems. I recommend J & J MECHANICAL, LLC for repairs.
