Justin is my technician and has been great this year. I had to have my thermostats replaced in December, and this week he came out to clean my A/C unit. He provided clear info on what was wrong and my options for fixing it or maintaining it and the cost. I was able to make a decision and know I can call if I need additional help. They arrive on time and communicate before coming to the house. Highly recommend.

I called and got same day service with 72 degrees. Everyone from the staff answering the phone to the technician were incredibly understanding, kind and efficient. Jessie was fantastic. Not only extremely professional and thorough, but incredibly kind and personable! I am so grateful I called them and got the work I needed done through them.

Last summer (2022) my upstairs wasn’t cooling and 72 Degrees came out and told me I needed to replace my unit and gave me a quote. After replacing the full unit, the upstairs still wasn’t cooling so the technician came back out and basically said, “my bad, I didn’t even check the upstairs unit.” So even though that’s the issue I called in, they only checked one unit and not both. So more than $30k later and I have two new units. I should have been much more vocal about my dissatisfaction at the time, but reasoned with myself that both units were old and likely to need replacement in the near future anyway and at least it’s done.

Fast forward to this year (2023) and they come out for a system tune-up and the SAME sales technician tells me I should evaluate having crawl space duct work replaced because the original installation (not the work of 72 degrees) had the wrong size duct work. Wait, what?? You mean to tell me that after spending $30k last year for two new units that no one checked the size of the duct work to ensure that it was the appropriate size for the air load needed to be pushed through!? When I asked variations of that question I was answered with some version of “this is my mistake” and “the technicians only do the work assigned to them to fix the most urgent need.” If that’s the case, the entire process for how this place handles installations and repairs needs to be reevaluated. Duct work should have been part of the original scope of work and quote to ensure a fully functional HVAC system. No one should expect to spend large amounts of money on new units and have only partial evaluations and recommendations of the system.

Had a new heat and AC unit installed in January/February. It was installed poorly, causing condensation to leak through my ceiling in August.

Spent $400 just dehumidifying the room it affected (it felt like a swamp for multiple days) and will probably be a few hundred more to repaint the walls/ceiling.

I brought it to their attention on the day I discovered the problem and have spoken with reception, a technician, and a supervisor and have heard nothing back since the supervisor visited my house in early October saying he'd try to rectify this.

Fantastic Service!! Thorough explanations. Professional!

Technician, Justin, is a real pro!! He OBVIOUSLY cares about his customers and the quality of his work. I would recommend this firm and him, emphatically!

Many of the one star and two stars reviews are very accurate. I should have read them first.

I can not speak to the actual technician work, as soon as he showed up said “they don’t work on these units typically” however and instead of wanting to fix or repair the issue on a 1 year old unit, and offer you best options, they want to take the easy route and charge you for a full new install measured in the thousands of $2,800 This explains why they don’t work on these units because more $$$ for them to do the large job and offer fixes measured in the thousands.

Paid them their service fee + tip and moved on to someone else.

If they don’t work on these units, then why send your technician and why charge me?

Update: Got another service technician in, $150 later it is fixed.

Lessons learned: get you multiple quotes for service and repair. Do not accept outrageous rates. These units designed to last 10, 15, 20 years.

This company is a SCAM. I have a three year old package unit for my home that was installed by 72 Degrees just before I purchased my home in 2019. The system worked well until late August 2022.

While there was a rare circumstance that a low voltage wire arched and created a refrigerant leak in the suction line, 72 Degrees failed to make the appropriate repair and did irreversible damage to my system.

The technician patched the suction line and put 4.8 pounds of refrigerant (system calls for 4.5 pounds), but based on expert opinions of two HVAC experts and competition, a proper vacuum was not pulled to remove moisture and other debris from the line.

Fast forward a few days from the initial repair - A/C is still not cooling and the house is reaching 85 degrees inside with very high humidity. The technician now claimed the compressor was condemned and is in need of a replacement. This was submitted through the manufacturer warranty.

After almost three weeks waiting for the new compressor to arrive, the technician returned to replace the compressor. After installing the new compressor and prior to adding refrigerant back into the system, the technician (same guy who serviced the unit the first time) spent time looking for a power outlet and asked me for a drop cord to pull a vacuum. Less than an hour later, he says there is moisture throughout the entire system and it needs to be replaced.

I have spent $4,300 in refrigerant and labor and still have no working A/C system. The service manager joined the senior technician today to also recommend a replacement system for over $12,000.

I am now using a different HVAC company to replace my system and will never trust 72 Degrees again. Don't fall for their traps!

I would NOT recommend 72 Degrees to anyone. Their customer service and professionalism were incredibly disappointing.

In May 2021, my third floor unit broke. They recommended replacement, which I trusted as their customer. It was completed the same week, which was great. However, their Accounting team took over a month to deposit my check. I called several times and got the same story that their check processing software was being updated, and that my check would be deposited in a couple days. Over a month into that repetitive experience, it wasn't until I told them that I was going to stop payment on the check that they let me pay via credit card without an upcharge. It was incredibly frustrating. 72 Degrees made no attempt to problem solve with me so that I could put the project behind me.

In July 2021, my second floor unit broke. Again, they recommended replacement. I asked about repair options and I chose that route because they said it would be fixed by the following week, which was perfect because I was taking my family on vacation then. The repair didn't happen while we were gone. It wasn't until 3 weeks later that the parts came in and they fixed our unit. I completely understand that they can't do anything until they receive the parts, but they set my expectations at a 1 week turnaround. Meanwhile, my family of 5 was unable to sleep in their beds for 5 weeks during the hottest time of year. To make things worse, I ran into the same check processing issue with their Accounting team again. I called several time, I was told I would be called back, but I was never called. It took 72 Degrees 5 weeks to process my check. It was incredibly unreasonable and managed unprofessionally.

Excellent service. Always on time or early and call to confirm when on way. They stand behind their products. Have happily used them for over 15 years and had them replace both my units when they expired. Very happy with this company and their employees.
