I had another plumbing services come out to my home and diagnose the problem with the water heater, but when it came down to replacing it I new wanted the work to done by Farnen & Dermer. Zach had impressed me some years ago when we met.

Our AC went out last month after a storm. F&D tech came out and after a couple minutes of looking around, told us that our system would need to be fully replaced. The tech lied to us and tried to convince us our unit was 16 years old when it was installed in 2017. He quoted us $14,000 for the new unit, and told us if he were to do patch repairs on our existing system it would be at least $3,200 with the promise he would find more wrong as he worked and it was likely going to be about $10,000 in repairs.

We called another AC repair service for a second opinion the same day. They found the real reason the AC was out - a single frayed wire that they fixed with electrical tape. Total cost was $100 and the AC has worked perfectly since. The F&D tech never even looked inside the unit where the frayed wire was before telling us the whole unit was junk.

This place is a scam and their techs are just trying to trick you into replacing perfectly fine units so they can get a commission. Or, their "20 years of experience" is the lie, and they all need better training. Maybe they saw me as an easy target for their scam as a female, new homeowner, but judging by other reviews this is just how they operate.

My central A/C stopped working right when the heat wave in June began. Since my husband passed away several years ago, I find myself searching for reputable companies to take care of household repairs, some of which are big ticket items such as the replacement of my A/C system. Luckily for me, I received a post card from Farnen and Dermer, advertising their services. I had seen their trucks in my area recently, so I decided to give them a call. I am SO glad I did! I had planned on getting 3 estimates before I made my decision, but after one of the owners himself showed up at my house to give me the estimate, I immediately felt at ease. Not only was he courteous and professional, but he proudly represented his family owned business with passion. I am all about family owned, generational businesses. Needless to say, I never got a 2nd or 3rd estimate. I went with Farnen and Dermer. The estimate was VERY reasonable. The technicians were kind, worked diligently and treated my home with respect. They saw that my thermostat needed to be replaced and some venting components were rusted through so they replaced them also….at no additional charge!! And to top it off, two days after the job was finished, I received a handwritten thank you note along with several premium gifts imprinted with the company logo. They have earned my HVAC business for LIFE!!! 5 ++++ stars!!⭐️

Late last night we realized our AC was broken so we called and were thrilled to get a real person who scheduled us for first thing Saturday morning. A bit of a complicated repair but our AC is back in business less than 24 hours after calling. Nice nice techs and well run company. Highly recommend. Special thanks to Eric who had to be outside on THE hottest day of the year so far!

Farnen & Dermer are a great company to do business with. I've had a long-standing relationship with them and can't say enough good things. It's been more of a friendship than a business transaction. They're straight shooters and I trust Ed and Jay to give me rock solid advice completely. It's refreshing in this day and age to deal with a company that cares so much about their clients. I know I'm a small cog in their operation, but I always feel as if I'm their #1 customer!

We recently had a new heating system installed by Farnen & Dermer and we couldn't be happier! Our steam radiators were heating the house terribly, so we had them removed and replaced with vents and a forced air system. We had six (!!) companies come out to give us quotes, and we ultimately felt like we would be in good hands with Farnen & Dermer. They arrived on time every day, were extremely professional and courteous, and completed the work ahead of schedule. They also took the time to thoroughly clean up after themselves, which was much appreciated! I work from home, and they were also careful to not bother me if I was in a meeting, which I greatly appreciated. We would definitely reach out to Farnen & Dermer again if we ever needed work done. I told them that the work they did was about as pleasant as a major home project can be! ;)
