Priced Right Heating & Cooling

On 8/31/14 I wrote a very positive review of my experience with Priced Right Heating & Cooling and ended by saying that Priced Right was my new HVAC vendor. It’s almost two years later and although Jim Ferguson and Priced Right have continued to service and keep my 27 year old furnace and AC working, I decided to bite the bullet and replace both. I got bids from two well-known firms in Overland Park and then from Priced Right. I expected Priced Right’s bid to be less and it was- significantly less. But as with any big purchase and especially because of some pretty bad experiences with contractors in the past, I was worried about how the job would go and if I’d be happy with the new unit. As it turned out, my worry was misplaced. Jim told me his crew would show up at 8:00 and be finished by 3:00. They arrived right on time and were finished by 2:00. When the crew left it was as if they’d never been here. My old unit and all the boxes and miscellaneous trash had been hauled away while Jim and his crew were finishing the installation. My basement was left spotlessly clean and the new units are beautiful. The freon lines, wiring, AC and humidifier hoses are all routed neatly and conveniently. I’m very picky and honestly, I’ve never had any contractor perform such a significant installation in a more professional, expert manner. I was amazed at the speed, execution and final results of the installation. That said, you’re probably wondering how my new Lennox AC is working. The short answer is its working great! It’s quiet, efficient and keeps the house cooler, drier and much more comfortable then the old unit ever did. The thermostat is excellent and the complete system shows all the advances you’d expect from replacing a 27 year old system. I couldn’t possibly be happier. I’m glad I found Jim Ferguson and Priced Right in 2014 and stuck with them. I’ve been a homeowner for 35 years and in that entire time I can honestly say that the best experience I’ve ever had with a major contractor purchase and installation was this one with Priced Right Heating & Cooling.

What's different about Jim and Priced Right Heating and Cooling is he sold us a solution, not just a system. We've had HVAC guys come into our house with our 15+ year-old system and think they're just going to throw a bigger and newer system in there. Jim listened to our problem of where it is hottest and where it stays cool and worked up a zoning solution with us.
They quickly scheduled the install in the middle of summer and had everything done in one day. Everything was expertly installed. Jim took the time to go over the new thermostat with us and make sure we were satisfied with the new system. The system Jim installed was not the most expensive, but it is efficient and met our budget. I've used AB May, Midwest, and Mission HVAC guys, but I would recommend Priced Right Heating and Cooling hands down over the competition.

We received bids from four different companies to replace our aged furnace and air conditioner. Jim gave an easy to understand presentation and quote after looking at or current equipment and asking relevant questions about our situation. He steered us towards Aire Flo saying it was basically Lennox equipment with different covers. That saved us around $500. His bid was very competitive and we had a lot of confidence in him. The new equipment was installed smoothly and quickly with little disruption today and we are looking forward to enjoying the new set up.

We found Priced Right Heating and Cooling just going down the list of 24 hour services when our furance stopped working at 2 AM and I sure am glad that we did. They came out at 3 AM on a weekend to fix our furnace and did a quick and wonderful job. Their prices were also quite reasonable, especially considering the time. We will definitely be using them again in the future and recommending to everyone we know. Just for the record, the larger name "24 hour" company that we called before we found Priced Right in the listings NEVER returned our phone call. This is one place that actually means it when they say 24 hour service, I'm so glad we found them!

KC Water Heaters referred Jim and Priced Right Heating and Cooling to us and we could not be happier. During our initial meeting Jim surveyed our house and what our current situation, what we wanted in our next system and then customized a couple proposals that would meet our needs. He answered our questions and helped us weigh pros and cons for the systems. The day of installation was like clockwork. Jim and his coworker showed up on time, were clean and took extreme care of our house as they installed the new heating and AC unit. Upon complete, Jim walked us through the new system, answered our questions and made sure we were ready to go. Jim followed up later in the week to make sure all was well.
I would highly recommend Jim and Priced Right Heating and cooling.

While out of town for the weekend our Furnace stopped working. We got home to a cold Kansas City and an even colder home on a Sunday Afternoon. We called priced right because I have seen the truck in our neighborhood before so thought they must be a trusted company. They arrived at my house within 1 hour of me calling on a Sunday afternoon and was able to clearly explain the problem and fix everything that same day with the parts they had on the truck. I was also impressed with how they did not push expensive other repairs on me at the time of service. Jim came in to fix the furnace, answered my questions regarding other issues with my HVAC and assisted me with a plan and then was on his way with my heat working. I was very happy with the service and I cannot think of a reason to ever call a different HVAC company.

We could not be more pleased with our experience with Priced Right Heating and Cooling. Jim, the owner and operator, came out after we had several other companies out to bid a new install of AC and furnace. Being able to talk to the owner instead of a comissioned sales representative set his company apart from the rest from the start. Jim is so knowledgeable in his HVAC background and very thoroughly and humbly explained all of the systems, efficiency, shared knowledge, experience and explained a selection of what would be best for our home and needs rather than trying to upsell a (more expensive) product or unnecessary add on to make a buck. Out of 5 different HVAC companies Priced Right came in with the most reasonable bid, but we were already sold based on Jim's professionalism and obvious proficiency. He is exceptional! He and his partner Paul came out on time and on a Saturday no less and removed both AC and Furnace. Then, replaced both units and were up and running in less than 4 hours. Very quick, efficient, and professional. I could not recommend this company highly enough! We will never go to another company for our HVAC needs again. Thank you Jim and Paul!

What service! I called Friday . I left a msg for Jim and he called back within a few minutes. I described the problem and since he was finishing up for a customer and he was close, he was at my house within 30 mins. He diagnosed the problem quickly, offered a reasonably priced solution and went to work. The A/c needed a new thermostat (which I had also diagnosed as the likely problem), Ryan cleaned the outside compressor, added Freon and was done in a short time. Thank you Jim and Ryan. These are people I can trust and don't feel like I am being up charged. Call Jim.

I am so pleased with my new furnace and air conditioner installed by Priced Right. I did some price shopping and I got a much better deal with Priced Right than some of the other well advertised companies.

The installation was very professional and they cleaned up after they were done. I have used this company for my twice yearly check-ups, and will continue to do so. I highly recommend Priced Right.

We'd just bought a new home, and had lived in it for only 2 months before our AC quit. During the first service call, Paul from Priced Right determined that the compressor had died and recommended installing a new unit. Jim and Paul came out early on a Saturday to install the brand new Lennox unit and during the installation found a kink in the piping that had likely caused the prior unit to fail after only 6 years (Our house is only 11 years old and this will be its third AC). Jim pulled out the crimped piece of pipe and replaced it during the installation. They were extremely knowledgeable and thorough. The new AC is purring like a kitten and I have no doubt that since the installation was finally done correctly, the unit will last past its warranty!
