Merts Heating & Air Conditioning

After 30+ years our furnace and AC was ready to be retired. Like most homeowners we debated which company we should choose. After conducting several searches online, a friend recommended Merts commenting on the service quality. We contacted Merts and ended up replacing our furnace, AC and water heater in January 2023. We had a great experience beginning with our initial service call, a visit by a technician who was knowledgeable and very helpful in selecting the right equipment for our needs, and an amazing install team. They were very courteous and efficient. I would also note that while the most important thing is for the equipment to be installed properly and work well, I was equally impressed with the professional look of the install and how clean they left the area. We are now enjoying our high efficiency furnace and appreciate the excellent service by Merts!

I needed a prompt inspection and certification of my residential heating system as part of a home occupancy permit process. I contacted Merts, and very quickly, I was able to schedule a service appointment for the next day. The Merts technician assigned to my home is Mr. Eric Pyle, a friendly, but proficient and knowledgeable individual. Merts is definitely an HVAC service company one can trust in the south suburbs of Chicago.

Jesus was professional and offered to wear shoe covers entering the home. He promptly got to work servicing the furnace and air conditioning unit for the season. He recommended cleaning my reusable furnace filter more often since I have two shedding dogs. He even suggested buying a disposable filter that I could use as a replacement while waiting the the washed filter to dry completely. Thank you for the great service today!

Professional and on time, our technician was polite and efficient. We have used Merts every year for 5 years, they installed our heating and air conditioning unit. We have not had any problems with our unit or their customer service.

I had Al and Johnny come to my house to install a new furnace and A/C. They were informative and considerate. I have very bad allergies, and they took all of the precautions necessary for them to perform their work near where I had to work. They went above and beyond what I have seen their competitors do, explaining in detail every aspect of my new systems, and even moving the wiring and disconnect on the back of my house to accommodate a future remodel.

Jake is just a consummate professional in every aspect. There is not another service tech that I would trust to do the work on our heating and air system. Jake explains the process in a manner that you can understand, and would only have you replace parts that are absolutely necessary. He is a valued representative for MERTS, and they should make sure they take care of this employee.

Great company! Actually answered my call and sent their tech Frank out the same day! Had our furnace up and running in no time and the fee was so reasonable. Frank was polite, professional and extremely knowledgeable. We will always call them as they have earned our trust for sure!

Had 4 Ecobees installed in December, $1656. One stopped working this month, still under warranty. Merts charges $89 for diagnostics, even though we knew what was wrong as previously confirmed by our air conditioning company. So I had them come out anyway as they installed them. They wanted to charge almost $400! They discounted final amount by the call out fee but still almost $300 for a product that was under warranty. If under warranty then they should have replaced for NO charge.
Next time I will have my air conditioning company install a new one for $400 and free call out if anything should be wrong.
