We purchased a very expensive (nearly $5k) evaporative cooler - a Breezair - from The Cooler Company in August 2012. Are we happy with the Breezair? YES. Are we happy with the customer service from The Cooler Company? NO! They have not been helpful in the slightest and as soon as the job was finished and they had our money, their concern for us went straight out the door. Upon completion of installing our unit, they had to return with a remote that wasn't broken, and re-entered our yard and roof to program it, leaving the gate open upon their exit letting all of our dogs out into the street nearly getting hit by a car. Now, entering the time to winterize our cooler, we needed a bit of advice and help on a couple steps in winterizing. They REFUSED TO HELP US, and said they would not offer any advice (EVEN THOUGH WE HAD JUST SPENT $5K) and said they would come out and do it for us for another $130. We were floored. Raven said she would return our call after checking with the owner, and she never did get back to us. BEWARE USING THE COOLER COMPANY! Absolutely pitiful customer service. They will take your money and never look back.

After going through two low-end evap coolers in the last ten years, we decided to bite the bullet and invest in the Breezair EXV-155. I could not be happier with this decision! The Cooler Company was a pleasure to work with as they were able to repair a minor issue that we had the day that we called to report it. The air this thing puts out is ice cold and somehow less sticky than the air our old system put out. It is whisper quiet. This system is so vastly superior to our old system that I have no doubt that it will pay for itself in terms of reliability and energy savings. The variable speed design is my favorite feature. Instead of cycling on and off, it just puts out a nice smooth stream of air throughout the day, saving energy and making the house much more comfortable. We bought the dark gray unit and it makes our house look high-tech and modern, unlike the old one that looked like something from a 1960s trailer park. And don't get me started on the energy savings! The price is steep but you wont regret it.

I can't believe what just happened. We called The Cooler Company yesterday because our swamp cooler broke. It's 80 degrees inside our house and oppressive. They said they could send someone out on Sunday (today) for a $200 service charge. Their employee just left our property with a $200 check and did NO REPAIRS. He said we had a corroded rod that needed to be replaced, yet he did not replace it. He took pictures, said we need to schedule another appointment and left. This company ROBS you for your money. DO NOT USE THEM.

I am so happy I called the Cooler Company. Finally for the first time EVER the upstairs in my townhome is cool. The upstairs never cooled off no matter how long I ran the air conditioner….whereas the downstairs would get frigid. Over the years I have had several HVAC companies come out and replace parts to no avail. A co-worker recommended the Cooler Company as she was very happy with the work they did for her so I called them. Steve from the Cooler Company said the problem was a poor initial ductwork design in my unit. I had a downward blowing unit located on the floor of my second level making it virtually impossible for cold air to reach the upper level with the way my ductwork was currently set up. The guys at the Cooler Company totally redesigned my ductwork and now for the first time in over 10 years I finally have a cold upstairs in the summer. Thank you Cooler Company. I highly recommend these guys if you need help with your Air Conditioning or Furnace.

Josh was courteous, helpful, and very knowledgeable. He even took the time to explain what was going on with our furnace.

Josh really went the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of. Would definitely trust him and The Cooler Company for future jobs.

Service provider stated a flat fee of 39.95 to fix furnace then wanted an additional 85.00 to complete his work.
On 01-12-13 at 7:30pm we contacted The Cooler Company to come fix our furnace. My wife spoke to someone and they stated that they would contact someone to come out and to expect a call shortly. An hour passes and we get a call from Andry The Cooler Companies service technician. I asked him how much he charges to come out and fix our furnace. He stated that he charges a flat fee of 39.95. I then asked him if he charges an hourly rate on top of that. He stated "no matter if it takes 5 minutes to fix or 5 hours it's a flat fee". I then told him to come out help us with our furnace and a half hour later he showed up at our door. I showed Andry the furnace and the breaker box and he proceeded to look at our furnace. About 20 minutes pass and he states that he diagnosed the problem and he believes it to be a bad ssu box. He states that his equipment is showing 120v going into the box but only 70v going out into the furnace and he can fix it by bypassing the fuse and wiring the wire directly into the on/off switch. He then states that he can fix it but it's going to cost us and additional 85.00. I was furious. I told him that he was misleading and that he out right lied to us. He stated that I just didn't ask the right questions and had I asked if there was a repair charge he would've told me. I then repeated his statement that he had said on the phone. He statement was "no matter if it takes 5 minutes to fix or 5 hours it's a flat fee" he stated that the statement was in reference to the diagnoses but not the repair. I stated that he in no way stated the $85.00 fee even though the word repair came up in conjunction with the term "flat fee" several times in our previous conversation. He then packed up his tools and started to leave with the furnace covers off and the ssu box apart and stated that he wouldn't do the work unless we paid the fee. Once we had gotten back upstairs and almost out the door my wife stopped him and told him to wait. She pulled me aside and stated that she was worried about the pipes freezing, how cold it was, and the other service companies that we called wouldn't be able to come out until tomorrow. She said that we should just pay him and then we would talk to the company and file a formal complaint letting them know of the deception. I agreed and went into the other room so she could talk to him. She told him to just do the work. After a 3 minute wiring process our furnace was back up and running. He then proceeded to find other things with our furnace to occupy his time as to seem like it was worth it for us to pay. After we paid him we contacted The Cooler Company to let them know of the deception and to file a complaint. They took our information and stated that they would have someone call us on Monday but NEVER called.

The people in the company are great, but the $6000.00 evaporative cooling system I bought 2 years ago stopped working. So it will be a 175 service call and then to fix whatever problem we’re having will be of course extra. This whole thing is very aggravating!

I did my research on evap coolers and companies in town and landed with a Breezair installed by the Cooler Company. Steve, the owner came over with a quote on time and did so in a very professional manner. Which, by the way, I can't say I experienced with the other companies. It wasn't that they weren't professional, just not as professional. I was put off a bit that Steve would ONLY install a Breezair and ONLY do it if I installed at least 4 ducts (max rebate). Some people may not be able to afford the Breezair as it's about 1K more than the other one he sells. Anyway, I had them come over and do the job. In all, I had 5 people in my house, two were subs for electric and plumbing. The main crew did a very solid job. The job lead installer was well spoken, thoughtful with his responses and took the time to answer and, importantly, ask questions. Steve did a great job hiring this guy. However, he did fall through my ceiling...but that wan't his fault. The crew that flipped my house didn't nail a 2x6 for the framing around the attic access.. Bummer, but again, not his fault and they repaired everything except for the paint. The next guy on the crew was a bit gruff, he could use some polishing and social skills improvement. He was also a bit lazy as he had to be asked to cover furniture in rooms while holes were being cut into the ceiling. And, he could have paid a bit more attention to detail with the install. For example, the drain tube from the cooler does not run down the roof in a straight line, rather at an angle and looks like sloppy work. The rookie on the crew was hard working and did a good job, so far as I can tell. He was in the attic a bunch. He is a good apprentice and will eventually make a good lead. The electrician did a great job and that's all I have to say about that. The plumber installed a hose bib and fixed the holes in the ceiling. He, fortunately, took the time to run copper for the bib and I appreciated that. I prefer that over Pex. He was also great with communication. Downside, he made more of a mess in my house than all of the others combined. Drywall mud tracked on the floor all over the place including the bathroom and spills on the vanity. Strange. To his defense, it might have been raining. The only thing that kept them from getting 5 stars was some sloppy work. Otherwise, I'm fully supportive of their work and professionalism. This isn't easy work and the crew did a good to great job overall.
