I participate in Quality Heating’s AC and Heating maintenance program. The service technician Skye has serviced the AC and furnace several times and he’s very thorough with his system check and what to watch for. He’s happy and listens to my comments and concerns regarding the AC and furnace. I highly recommend Quality Heating and their service technician Skye.

Started with getting it quoted. I wanted a new furnace and a/c. I make an appointment. Guy no-shows. I call back...apparently the estimator "lost my info". I tell him he can still come over here and quote the job. He informed me he couldn’t do it today because he “already drove back to the east side” (which is less than 20min away from my house).

The only reason I give them a second chance is because they're one of the only York dealers in town, and I get a York discount as I'm an employee. So, they send out a new estimator. Guy is decent. Shows up right on time. Quotes it out....even with my York discount, they're higher than Bergin and Burkhardt. As it's my employer, I really want to stick with York, so I have to talk them down to parity INCLUDING my discount.

Physical install went ok. (EDIT: WHOOPS! NOT OK! READ BELOW) However, they wired the thermostat wrong (and forgot to pull enough wire, it's a 2-stage furnace). I call the tech and he says, and I quote, "ahh, I'm not too good with that stuff, I'll have to call someone else". Thermostats?! You're not too good with....thermostats?? Isn't that a big part of what you do? Additionally, the dip switches on the furnace control board were wrong. They also had to come back and replace the fan motor (!!) and mess with other stuff to fix a noise a week after the install.

The scary part is, the only reason I know any of this is because I'm in the industry. How many installs are out there that are incorrect and nobody knows? Congratulations on spending all that money on a 2-stage furnace, now we'll configure it so it only runs single stage.

Then, part of the negotiating was including a spring start-up. So I had to call them to schedule that. Well.....they no-showed again. Should have learned my lesson.

Update after owner response:
Tech came out and put 2 pounds of refrigerant in; significant for a 2-ton system. I'm glad I negotiated a spring startup in, even though they "assured" me they can do a proper install in cold weather. Tech leaves, "assures" me everything is running perfectly.

Exactly two weeks after that, I went downstairs and found a pool of water under my furnace. I call them up, they send a tech out and he starts ripping the system apart. Evaporator drain pan is cracked, pretty severely, leaking water on the heat exchanger and fan, and they now have to replace the evaporator coil.

I had a bad heat exchanger. They were able to get the entire heater replaced under warranty and only charged labor. They also do annual maintenance and offer a reasonably priced annual contract for maintenance of AC and Heater with a reduced price on repair visits.

We had an Aprilaire installed on our furnace last week. The tech was on time, courteous (even loved our dog) and very efficient. I was told it could take up to 4 hours and he was done in 2.5 hours. Plus, it was fair price compared to others. Awesome experience.

Our A/c wasn’t working. Scheduled a service call with Quality Heating as I have been very pleased with their service in the past. The technician identified within a couple of minutes that the problem was due to our breaker being tripped. $185 to flip my breaker for me.
