Big shout outs to Eric, Becca, Robert and Lee!! I had to replace my HVAC system unexpectedly. They made this process so much easier for me. They answered every question or concern I had with no hesitation. They were very professional and very knowledgeable. I honestly felt like they provided me with Chick-Fil-A service and I highly recommend them!!

These guys were the only ones that would pick up on Wednesday the night before Thanksgiving. The first technician they were going to send was at least honest and said he didn't know how to work on an oil furnace. the second guy they sent Friday knew how to prime one, but I need parts not something I can look up how to do on youtube. Hadn't heard back Monday by 11 so I texted one of the dispatchers (whom had texted me that I chose to wait for the diagnostic since the first tech didn't know how to work on it). He told me the same guy he sent Friday had "talked to someone in the shop" and he'd come back out, he said beyond that "call woodfin or someone who works on oil furnaces all the time". These guys should just be honest and say "I can prime it if everything is functional, beyond that you're on your own". Dishonest cash grab for a "diagnostic fee" when I told them everything they repeated back to me after looking at it and literally banging on it like that'd do anything. 0/10 would not repeat

I originally wrote a 5 star review for ARS, and it was follows:

My original review from 2019: We were glad for the excellent service from Lee and the solid work by Chris to take care of an HVAC issue we were having that resulted in cold when it was already quite chilly outside.

This is my updated review as of today:
We purchased our HVAC system from ARS in 2019 but have been quite let down by them last year; the first maintenance visit was our being told that something had been installed poorly in the first place (by another worker from the company), and now the latest visit when our home was not heating properly involved being told that something had been poorly taped or fitted into place (by another worker from the company) and thus was resulting in our losing a good 30-40% of our heat. I called them last Sunday to say I needed to discuss our warranty and was told I would be called back on Monday. No call. I waited a few days. I called back on Thursday and was told I would be called back that day when I pressed to ask when I would be contacted. (This was also a different individual that I spoke with.) It is now the following Monday and no one has called. I tend to be a pretty patient and understanding person, but this lack of communication is unacceptable.

We consequently decided to bring our business elsewhere and discovered just how poorly the original installation was executed. Some wires were supposed to be connected to a different power source, others were wired in the wrong places, they ran the wire through the duct to run the power source for an air scrubber (which can melt the wire), and the wiring to the main power source was not long enough to connect to where it should, so they spliced a lower gauge wire to connect it, which apparently is not to code. The fact that all of this was not apparent to the two would-be repair people who have come out since that first installation is also concerning, because it suggests the possibility of merely cursory service, widespread incompetence, and/or systemic grift.

After the needless frustration and pointless expense we have experienced as a result of ARS, I have to take back my original 5 star review. My family has had excellent experience with ARS in North Carolina, so we thought we would experience the same with the local service here, but we are beyond disappointed by what we have had to deal with.

Mr. Battle had done a tune up on our HVAC system over a year ago. I forgot what his name was after that to call for service! I was very happy to see him at the door today!!! He is always kind, honest and thorough. He doesn't just install a product and rush off. He makes sure YOU understand what you are getting, why and how to work it! I will be sure to call for him directly in the future! His customer service is top notch.

ARS Rescue Rooter called me on Saturday, June 6th to scheduled a $59 tune-up. They said that Monday, June 8th was available and asked if 8:00 am was okay. I said I would prefer 9:00 am, and they said they would schedule it for 9:00 am and that the technician would also call when he was on his way.

Monday morning came, and by 9:20 am I still hadn't received a call. So, I called them back to see if the technician was running into technical difficulties. They said that they had actually booked me with a 3rd party service with a general time frame of 8-12, and that they were also cancelling all appointments today due to high demand. (I guess they just hadn't gotten around to calling me to let me know.)

I don't know about the quality of the technicians, but from this experience, it looks like this company is using bait and switch tactics for setting appointments and cares more about making money through emergency services than keeping their commitments with the smaller appointments.

This company just replaced my leaking hot water heater. I called Friday afternoon, they sent someone out Monday to consult, and it was replaced Tuesday. The technician, Logan, was extremely professional and courteous. He and his assistant were very thorough and made sure I knew how to work the equipment before they left. They cleaned up after themselves, including cleaning up all of the leaked water once they took the old heater out. A little side perk: my 2 and 5 year old kept asking them questions and talking to them, and they were great with interacting with my little ones and explaining to them what they were doing. I was very impressed with the overall experience!

Wendell B. performed the yearly inspection of my furnace and A/C unit. He really took his time and gave me some great information on my unit - like who the manufacturer was and how long I could expect it to last. He also recommended a drain line safety switch for the condensation line in my attic which no one else had ever suggested. It's a great idea and I am going to get it installed Wendell was friendly and very professional. I would recommend him to anyone!

Wendell came to service our Unit for ARS. This is the best service technician one can imagine. Wendell is the most friendly technician my wife and I have ever met. He is knowledgeable beyond belief and takes great care to explain issues in terms you can understand. We can't recommend him enough!

The servicemen appear knowledgeable whenever at my home. But, every time I have my twice a year maintenance service, I am always “offered” additional services or “products” to purchase. It appears kind of “snake oil salesmen like!”
Yesterday, my regular maintenance happened. My spouse was told a “part” on our Carrier compressor needed replacement. My spouse was charged a substantial cost for this replacement part. Upon my return home, I pulled out the installation agreement from 3.5 years earlier and noticed that the replaced “parts” are under a 10 year warranty through Carrier. ARS , then Weather Crafters, did the sale and installation!
I called ARS office and was told these parts are not “covered” under warranty but, the Service Manager, would call me within hour to discuss. No return call.

I did contact Carrier and because I registered my Carrier “parts”, the parts replaced by ARS WERE under warranty for 10 years. And ARS should not have charged me for these parts! This is what I told office staff; to no avail.
