ARS had me sold over 5 years ago when I had to replace my entire heat pump system. The salesman was very professional and not pushy at all. They gave me a deal far better than any of the other contractors that came out to estimate the job. Installation went without a hitch, and 5 years later, even the service tech Shawn, that comes out to inspect the system every Fall / Spring is awesome! I have referred several co-workers to ARS, and I will continue to do so!

I wish I could give a lower rating than one star. BEWARE of this company. I will say that the people on the phone (local and corporate office) and the techs were polite and well mannered. But the service I received was terrible! This is a long story! They did the installation of my HVAC unit in 2016. It is only 4 years old. It has never gotten my entire house cool or heated. My old 17 year old unit did a better job. During the summer of 2020 my AC went out. I called ARS and scheduled an appointment. Two men came out the next day. They found that I had a Freon leak, charged me to find where the leak was, to repair the leak, and refill the Freon. They could not do the repair the same day, but had to come back a second day. It was still not working. I called and I was supposed to have a Tech come between 1-4 and NO ONE SHOWED UP. I called again and was told that there was no one scheduled to work that day. The next day someone came and he said that he was working the previous day. I later found out that the person who was supposed to come to my house quit during the day. They could have called to let me know that they were not going to come. The tech who came said I needed a new capacitor. More money later, it still was not working. After this I started getting the voice mail when I called. I ended up having to call another company who fixed the repair that was done poorly which caused other parts to break. That is when the real difficulty began. I called the corporate office to request a refund of my money. It took a very long time and multiple phone calls before I received my money. I did not ask for a full refund. I only asked them for what it cost me to have the other company repair their errors. Thankfully, Automatic Climate was able to repair their errors. They also indicated that the reason my house doesn’t cool/heat well was probably because I needed a bigger unit than the one that was recommended and installed by ARS.

They were fast and efficient!! I expected it to take two days to install, but they were able to complete in just one day.
They cleaned up, took all the trash, and made sure the system worked properly before they left.
I would recommend this company to anyone who is having HVAC issues or interested in having a system installed.

June 2018 replaced the downstairs unit and couldn't have been happier with installation and personnel. Professional installation team, explained the plan and how long it would take, then followed through.

THEN
October 2019 replace the upstairs unit and it couldn't have went any worse.
1. Installation team was 1 guy and a helper.
2. Was in a hurry and didn't explain anything, bordering on rude.
3. They cut the refrigerate line for the downstairs unit while taking out the upstairs unit.
4. Was told a new refrigerate line would be installed, but they reused the original.
5. Asked for a manager all day, was told the manager was on the way. Didn't show up until end of day.
6. Manager (Eric Walker) said they would return within a week to patch a hole in the foundation and cleanup the installation. After a week I started calling. Number on business card was not in service, called the office number and was always routed to VM. I left a message everyday and never received a call back.

Have used them for years, but after the warranty period, I'll be using a different company. I would suggest avoiding them.

Was given 2 years service contract on both units. Still have to call for scheduling tune ups.

Shawn arrived on time and greeted me pleasantly. He explained to me what he was going to do. He placed his shoe covers on with his mask and proceeded inside to the upper system. After he completed that one he went outside to do what he needed to do outside with each system. He checked additional concern that I had. He didn’t discover that anything was wrong..Shawn was very efficient I would request his service again.

Ask for Lee Strayer:
Lee came out and gave us a proposal on the spot, he also showed us better ways to improve our system. He was friendly, very professional and very knowledgeable about what we needed.
I would recommend Lee/ARS /Home Depot to all our neighbors and friends.
ARS team coming next week to install new heat pump. I gave Lee/ARS 5 star rating!

I’m not quite sure where to begin.

I don’t understand how they can do “same day” installs when you request a call and it takes 2 tries to request an install and then for you to finally call them to get the installation started. Then it takes 2 days to get someone out just to do a “consult” and then another few days to do the install. The entire time they were aware to call my fiancé and not me yet not once did he receive a call and instead they called me multiple times and I had to text him to call them back since I was working.

Day of install... technician calls at 9am complaining about how the company didn’t have what he needed and needed “to drive halfway across the county” to get everything he needed for the install and would then be headed up to me. Finally got to my house at 1130am. A simple replacement tank should take 2-3 hours. Well at 1230 he magically disappears to grab something he mysteriously forgot to grab that morning during the 2 1/2 hour expedition which couldn’t of taken more than an hour.

Well an hour later which no call about when he would get back I call the technician directly - which of course there isn’t an answer and no voicemail set up because that’s too convenient. At that point I contact the dispatch and after being put on and off hold 10x a lady finally answers and said they finally reached him and he was in Fredericksburg. The technician could of gotten there and back within the hour and dispatch agreed and he couldn’t even tell them when he would be back. Well a half hour later their dispatch calls me to say he still couldn’t give them an ETA back and he lied to them when he left the office this morning about not coming directly to my location. At this point their dispatch is concerned about why their technician is lying to me and would have to get upper management involved in the case.

Finally the technician calls me back and says he’ll be back in 30 minutes but can’t even explain to me why he was so held up and didn’t actually have anything he needed when he arrived - even though we had a consult and he made a stop to get everything before coming which is why he was late.

Well... the installation which should of started at 10am this morning has yet to be completed over 5 hours later and when you’re technician can’t even tell you how long it will take him to finish it’s a shame.

Hopefully ARS lives up to their motto 100% satisfaction or 100% money back because.... this is a money back situation and their dispatch confirmed it when they couldn’t give a single reason why their technician is being the definition of unprofessional today.

It is not often that having a repair team come out, and the experience is highly satisfactory from the get go. This two man team worked effeciently and were very interactive with me during the time they were here installing a new water heater. Top regards for these guys.
