My experience with this company has been exemplary. My service professional (Raul) was so knowledgeable and he found solutions. There was zero pushing me to do anything. He stated the facts and showed me everything! Then he talked solutions leaving me to make the final decisions. They back their work up with a great warranty program as well as a great maintenance program. Please give this company an opportunity to help you with all your heating, cooling, electrical and plumbing issues. They definitely have old fashion values and commitment. Honest, reliable, respectful and integrity!! I paid $179 for a tune-up, but actually got a life lesson instead.
After a month of rescheduling due to their high demand for the summer (which is understandable), a technician came to my home to tune-up my 3 year old AC. I ordered the Ultimate Tune-up which included inspection, coil cleaning, 1 lb of refrigerant, and AC compressor saver. A deal listed at $179 and valued at $400.
The tech introduced himself, laid a mat on the porch, and put on some booties over his shoes. I thought I made the right decision just by how courteous and respectful he was to me and my home. The tech was in and out of the house inspecting the unit for about 2-3 hours. He seemed thorough with the inspection and took pictures of his findings. During the inspection, he notified me that one of my heating elements was bad, the coils needed cleaning, and there was rot caused by water damage to floor of the air intake. I went to look at the flooring and saw the damage. The damage was apparent, but the floor appeared dry like it had happened some time ago. This is when the up-sales began.
The tech came up with his proposals and recommendations which left my head spinning. The 1st proposal started at approximately $8,000. It included services, membership to their club, and warranties. Of course, financing was available for 120 months. I asked if he could trim the fat based off what he said I needed and that dropped the price to $2,000. During that time, he stated he didn’t see a point to clean the coils due to rot. I almost folded to the price, but scheduling caused me to back out the work. The tech swiped my card for $179 and left even though I didn’t receive half of what was mentioned (cleaning or compressor saver).
I wondered if I did or didn’t do the right thing so I called a private contracted tech and showed the pictures of the inspection. The other tech stated I could/should be able to do this on my own and gave advice on how to do it. I went to a local home improvement store and purchased the materials needed to get the job done. $200 and 6 hours later, the job was complete and AC is working great. I’ll end this point by mentioning I am not an expert or do I encourage anyone to do any work on their own.
I anticipate a response that will attempt to “sell the benefits” of going with this reputable company and that is fine. I’m sure their work and products are exceptional. For those looking for a direct approach and avoid these overhead costs, I suggest getting 2 or 3 quotes before deciding if these benefits are for you.

Update 08/06/21: I was called by Jon Wayne’s client care manager and issued a full refund.

Gratitude Is What I Feel For Jon Wayne AC! Reached out Wednesday, tired of dealing with warranty company. Jon Wayne promptly contacted me to set up appointment next day at noon. Richard Hickey showed up with his expertise. Next day a beautiful new ac/heating system was put in. Excellent work! Best thing we did was replace instead of bandaid$. I was super impressed with this company and with Michael, the tech that performed our service. At every turn there was excellent customer service. All considerations were taken to put me at ease as a customer and homeowner and also to care for my home. He wore shoe covers the entire time he was inside and was kind to my little puppy that was curious about our visitor. The work was perfect and solved quickly. From the 1st phone call with Matthew yesterday, I knew customer service is their priority. Very pleasant & professional, which can turn your day around when you’re calling to have your A/C fixed! They scheduled for today then called to give me 1/2 hour arrival window (8-8:30am). Christopher was here at 8:03. He, too, was professional & friendly. Once he started working he gave me great info and updates on progress & timing. Very knowledgeable about the A/C system as well as all the company’s services. We signed up for the 5-Star plan, which includes maintenance, free service calls & discounted repairs. We’ve used a few other “major” companies in San Antonio and feel confident that Jon Wayne is the best quality & value to keep our home systems up and running👍🏻

Jon Wayne saved our day. Home Warranty company still wanted over $1,000 above our coverage to patchwork repair our 27 year old system. And it would be 3-4 days to get the part in.
Can’t go that long without A/C in San Antonio. Enough was enough.
Called Jon Wayne. Rep was there the next morning.
Cody presented us with several levels of options, from very basic to top of the line. Advised us where we should consider based on our needs (NOT top of the line), arranged favorable financing, and scheduled the installation the very next day.
Installation crew was on time and amazing. A 3 man crew that worked efficiently and well coordinated. Each knew what needed to be done, and then knew what to do next.
I hate salesmen. But I never felt like I was being sold, and 2 days after calling Jon Wayne, my home is cool, and Jon Wayne has a fan.
