We have used many of the leading HVAC companies available in Flower Mound/Lewisville/Denton and after being frustrated with price gouging, mediocre service, and some with even unethical practices, we finally turned to Southern Comfort Mechanical.

They have historically provided the lowest quotes on our home and rental properties and after beating their competitors by more than $3000 on two recent systems, we decided to give them a try. Tony Mendes their sales rep was amazing. He gave us no-nonsense pricing that was very competitive and he even stayed for the full install to ensure everything was perfect. It's refreshing to have a sales rep that does not try and BS you and sell you things you don't need.

The install team was fast, efficient, and high quality. Would highly recommend giving Southern Comfort a try on your next HVAC purchase.

Mike did an awesome job of checking out an issue with my new system. He quickly identified and corrected the problem and performed additional checks to make sure everything was in order.

Had to revise my review to one star after the horrible handling of a warranty issue. My system was installed not quite a year and a half ago and has had problems periodically from the beginning. The thermostat failed for a second time and they sent a tech out to see what the issue might be. After looking through a few screens on the unit and hearing the problems I was having he went out to his truck to call his office and came back saying the unit needed to be replaced and that he would go back to his office and get the replacement. He indicated that the part would be covered under warranty but they would charge $370 labor to just to pull the old one off the wall and snap the new on. I told him I would be happy to do that myself and he agreed and left to get the new thermostat. He returned later in the morning and through no fault of his own informed me that his office would not honor the warranty to replace the defective unit unless I paid the ridiculous amount to snap it on the wall. No wiring or programming was needed from him, just handing me the part was all they had do. They clearly try to take advantage of customers and extort money without providing any value. I can't understand why a reputable company like Trane would ever allow such an unscrupulous dealer to operate like this and tarnish their brand. Avoid this company at all costs as they are underhanded and completely fail to live up to the commitments made to their customers.

Apparently you decided to not wait and review the results from other Trane installers and their charges to replace a second defective and warranted thermostat as we discussed this morning so I will simply document what I discovered here. I only had to consult one to uncover what I suspected. For the thirty seconds to at most one minute required to detach the defective thermostat from the wall and snap the replacement on the wall that you wanted $365 to perform but generously offered to reduce to $280 after seeing my review, a reputable dealer in the area would perform the same service based on all conditions and timing being identical for a grand total of $0. They offer two year parts and labor warranty for this part of the system in addition to 10yr parts 2yr labor for the rest of the system and 12yrs on the compressor and lifetime for the Heat Exchanger. Clearly the difference here is 100% the installing company and how they treat their customers. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!

I have had several technicians come out through my home warranty company and none of them could figure out what was going on with my air conditioning system. I decided to go out of network and selected Southern Comfort Mechanical based on reviews and a vendor screening I performed to determine their expertise with zone dampers. My hopes weren’t very high, but Luis Orta quickly changed my attitude. He was professional, detailed and thoroughly checked his work. Luis also offered tips for me to keep my air conditioning running smoothly. I highly recommend Luis!

The work has been quick and professional and a fair price. Do not hesitate calling when looking for a good, trustworthy HVAC company!

Southern Comfort was called to perform routine maintenance for a quoted price. After the appointment was made my downstairs unit became intermittent. It would not come on sometimes. Because the repair seemed to be not covered in the "routine" maintenance, I expected to pay more. Kevin showed up on time I showed him the problem he went upstairs to the units and 20 minutes later he came down and said the unit was fixed and the repair was included in the quoted maintenance price. He easily could have said that it was extra, and I would have bought in to it hook, line and sinker.
This is the second time I have used Southern Comfort and I have been happy both times. I definitely would recommend them.

Do not recommend! We hired Southern Comfort to come out and add 3 AC ducts to rooms that had no ducts. They came and added the ducts, but there was zero airflow. They said the rooms would cool down in the next couple of hours. They did not cool at all. We called them to come back and they came out and looked at the ducts and said they did some kind of adjusting and they should cool down in the next couple of days. They are still not cooling at all. There was never any conversation before they did the duct additions that they would not cool down at all.

While they were here the second time, they mentioned that due to the old way the ducts were built, to function better, they need a new duct system and they suggested moving the unit from a closet into the attic.

We asked for a quote to do this work and after numerous requests, they still will not provide us an estimate. So, they charged us about $700 to add ducts that do not work at all and will not give us a quote that we asked for to redo them so they work properly. I do not recommend!

Joshua was great. He came and checked out my system after we came home from Christmas vacation and the whole system was down. Ran some diagnostics and figured out exactly what I needed to prevent this from happening again. Will use again.
