I would not recommend Sierra Mechanical. We had to use them through HSA. My first impression was positive but there was no follow through. I had to do all the leg work to find out what was going on with the repair, calling the company regularly when they didn't call me. They were difficult to work with making absurd claims about access issues and lighting issues to avoid doing the work. In the end it turns out they misdiagnosed the problem with the AC saying it was wiring and wasting our time by having HSA call out an electrician who promptly said it was not electrical but in fact HVAC. They wasted a considerable amount of time all in the heat of summer in St. Louis- 3rd floor unit. We are going on more than 3 weeks without AC in the unit. The front office staff (Cindy) was pretty rude in the end not seeming to understand my frustration with their delay tactics. Now we are waiting to get a referral to a different HVAC company. I would discourage anyone from using this company since I would not trust them to make an accurate diagnosis.

Follow-up to earlier review: The first tech- Ryan turned out to be correct in his original diagnosis. The follow-up service from tech Jeff was terrible. He clearly just didn't want to do the work since the second company that I called to do the repair found the break in the wire with just a little digging. If you absolutely have not choice but to use Sierra, ask for Ryan and avoid Jeff if you want the job done. Finally after almost 4 weeks of no AC in our unit we finally can get it cooled down, no thanks to Sierra Mechanical.

Communication issues between them and home warrenty company and myself.
Dropped ball on first appt never showed,
Didnt want to pick up part that was ordered from my home warrenty company because I was told
"Our mechanics get paid $40 and hour to work on your appliances, not to pick up parts" Had to go back amd forth for them to get "authorization" to pick up the part from the hub where it was delivered.
Finally after 3 weeks the motor was replaced and 4 days later......motor stopped running, making loud clicking noise, checked out the unit, screws not even screwed in properly, inside unit still has leaves and dust ...you would think they would have cleaned it up inside since they had to take it apart to fix it. Placed another work order to be told today they have decided to no longer service Illinois area. Had to transfer work order to another contract, you would think they would at least gaurentee their work. Don't recommend them at all. After waiting first couple weeks they had told me someone had been waiting since April so "It takes time"
Glad my home warrenty sent job to another contractor because it maybe winter before they would actually do the job right for my central air.
I do NOT recommend wasting your time with this company.
If I could give a half a star, I would do so, so 1 star it is.

Bunch of Moran. Scheduled for HVAC repair and had to take off work on Thursday but nobody showed up. Called back and was told supposes to be Friday. Which is NOT true. Took off work on Friday and again NOBODY showed up. Absolutely bunch of Moran. Incompetent and unprofessional. I will be calling BBB and make formal complaint to MO board of professional registrations.

They came and worked on my air conditioner that was out for 3 days over a holiday weekend. The tech that came out was named Ryan. Very knowledgeable very helpful explained exactly what he was doing explain how I could help myself with a newer unit being cheaper costly to operate. Very informative and knew what he was doing what right to the problem at first glance he said he thought it was the capacitor and it was. I would recommend them very much to anyone looking for a heating and air conditioning company for repairs.

Beware terrible company . AHS sent them to fix our furnace. They came and told us we need a new part. Never call us when furnace part was in we had to call and then they never showed up for the appointment. We then called them and they said the tech ran out of time and couldn't but it in till the next week . Already two weeks without heat. We ended up getting another company and paying out of pocket. Reading the other reviews this seems to be a theme for this company. I also noticed a lot of these people had is company sent to them by AHS.

So far it has been an awful experience. They were srnt to us from the home warranty company. The tech was nice but they have been screwing us around for two weeks now. They keep blaming it on a permit issue but I called the county office and no request has been made at all. Cindy in the office flat out lies about it and says she has her own special person in the office she uses. Good luck getting anything done if you use them.

If I could give negative stars, I would. I was assigned Sierra Mechanical
by my Homeowner's warranty to diagnose my AC unit which had suddenly stopped blowing cold air. After the tech arrived fashionably late (two hours past his 4-hour window) with no courtesy phone call, he looked at my AC unit and accused me of messing with it after watching YouTube videos, provided no diagnosis, and left.

Sierra Mechanical took 2 days to provide a report to my warranty company, and the official diagnosis was "the wiring had been disconnected, so diagnosis was impossible." Aside from this being a total lie (because the unit is still blowing air and did so while the tech was present), one would think a technician would be able to reconnect an AC unit. So, I have now been without cool air for 5 days and have to schedule another company to look at my unit. Thanks Sierra Mechanical!

I am appalled at the lack of honesty, communication, and professionalism and I sincerely hope this review stops other homeowners from experiencing the same troubles.

Terrible service, Terrible experience, my home warranty contracted them to perform AC checkup. AC broke several hours after Sierra technician left, I couldn't get anyone on the phone until the next day. I was then put on hold and told they would call me back, never did. Asked to speak to manager about refund of money spent, said they would call back and never did. Extremely un-professional.

The scheduling desk was prompt, kind, and friendly. When the technician came to my door, he took the time to ask me questions about the problem to fully understand, had a quick knowledge of the problem, and quickly got my heat back to running efficiently and safely. He also showed his knowledge in giving me some tips to prevent future problems and was professional throughout the entire service. Kind and courteous to the kiddos in my home too. Grade A. I will be calling them for any future concerns with hvac.

Horrible customer service. I would never recommend this company to anyone ever. As a first time home owner I feel like I have been taken advantage of. Thank you for nothing. They literally did nothing. My warranty company told me they have 48 business hours to return the work order. They came out Thursday at 2:30 (2 and a half hours late). And couldnt turn in the work order to my warranty company until Tuesday at 11:30 while I sat in my home with no AC. Thank you.
