IF YOUR HOME WARRANTY COMPANY ASSIGNS SIERRA MECHANICAL FOR YOUR AC ISSUES, CALL THEM BACK AND REQUEST A NEW COMPANY IMMEDIATELY! They were the company chosen by my home warranty with American home shield and because of them, I am still having AC issues a month later. Their first visit they checked my Freon and noticed it was almost completely out and refilled it. They also said my expansion valve was bad and said that’s why I was low on Freon, so they replaced it. Well a week later I noticed my AC still seemed like something was wrong because the cooling maxed at at 76 degrees and late afternoon the temp in my house would actually rise to 80 degrees. Called home warranty, home warranty reassigned Sierra Mechanical, Sierra mechanical came, literally didn’t check anything and said there’s nothing wrong with my system, home warranty closed the service call. Fast forward a month and multiple calls to home warranty, I finally broke down and called an AC company on my own. Turns out I am still leaking Freon and the location of the leak was actually found, rather then blind guessing where the leak was like the tech from Sierra mechanical did. I was down one pound of Freon and that should have been caught the second time a tech was here. I understand misdiagnosis happen, but when a tech comes out a second time and doesn’t even recheck my system and proceeds to tell me there’s nothing wrong with my system, their techs are either incompetent, inexperienced, or have a massive ego and think they are the best HVAC technician the world has ever seen and they make no mistakes. I recommend you tough it out in a hot house and wait for another company from home warranty, and do not use Sierra Mechanical.

Assigned contractor from Home Warranty. Company only makes appointments >4 days out. Technician who came to my house never diagnosed or fixed the issue over a seven week period. The company would tell the home warranty one thing and me another. Would not contact me to make appointments, would just set an appointment time and date and then I would be notified by the warranty company.

The technician repeatedly has tried to sell me a new A/C unit, every visit has inquired about it and sent me emails that are not formatted or contain the company logo. I don't know if its the whole company that is bad or just this technician I worked with.

Avoid at all costs.

Sierra Mechanical serviced our request through American Home Shield. They showed up in a timely manner, but had three separate people out to tell us that the previous person we spoke with was wrong about the issues with our heat pump. The guy told us he would be back another day to complete the work, never showed. Business did not respond to calls, and our house was left in an unsafe condition, electrically. I would give zero stars, if I could.

I called Sierra 12/23 around noon. They had someone out by 3:30 to fix my heat. Temperatures outside were freezing & my house was also. He had the heat fixed within 30 minutes & the pricing was incredibly fair. I called with short notice the day before Christmas Eve & the temperatures were so cold I am so thankful they had someone available to come out. Thanks guys!!!

The service tech with Sierra Mechanical Service came out to give my A/C unit a check up allege it was 2lbs low on Freon said cost is $200 a pound recovered my home warranty AHS was covering it due to my contract & was told by his dispatch to put Freon in. 2-3 days later my unit stop working. Sierra was sent back out & the tech brought another guy with him on the service call disassembled my unit & left it that way. They told my warranty company my unit stopped working because it was damaged. I've been fighting since then to get them to repair it. The 1st tech they sent out saw no damage now the 2nd one is alleging damage, No their covering behinds because they crossed the wires per the new repair guy and they avoiding accountability. Never use this company they are unprofessional, unethical & liars.

Took off work early specifically to meet someone for an afternoon appointment to service my a/c. No one ever came out so I had to call them then was informed 2 of their techs were sick and my service was transferred to another contractor which no one informed me of.

I get life happens, but no call no shows are completely unacceptable from a "professional" company. They had at least half the day to inform me of the cancellation before I left work. I used vacation hours to sit in a boiling house, be miserable, and get stood up.

10/10 don't recommend 👎

I purchased a home with a home warranty in Q 21 through HSA Home Warranty. After a $100 diagnostic fee, I was directed to Sierra to repair a broken AC unit that stopped functioning in April 22. The initial visit was OK. The tech came out found no refrigerant in the unit and recommended the coil be replaced, this was communicated to me by the tech and later the dispatcher as well.

On the day of the, "coil replacement," the install crew showed up with no new parts for the unit, but instead repaired the existing one by soldering a leak. At the time, we decided to live with the repair, as we have a newborn baby and needed the AC unit to be functioning. Unfortunately, the unit ran for 1-2 days, then stopped cooling all together.

At this point, Sierra suggested we contact HSA in order to recall the work order. I did this the same day and they scheduled a follow up appointment a week out for re-diagnosis. The tech was a no-show and after a number of argumentative calls with the dispatcher someone came out the next morning. This tech believed the compressor to be faulty - as there was no change in line pressure when the unit was attempting to cool, but thought a more experienced tech was needed for a full diagnosis.

No one contacted me for a follow up. When I later called to address the issue, they told me that they would come out the following Friday to replace the compressor which was believed to be faulty. At this point, I was speculative that they could deliver, so I called to confirm that they had the part and warranty approval to make the repair. After 3-4 calls to dispatch I was then informed that there were no record of these events, and that my appointment would be again to "re-diagnose," the problem.

Don't do business with this company.

I was suspicious from the onset due to their poor online reviews. But moreover their staff is unprofessional, unreliable, disorganized, and dishonest and won't fix you equipment. Save yourself the $100 fee and headache, ask for someone else to address your claim if you are in a similar home warranty dilemma.

We had a great experience with Sierra Mechanical in early May. I had noticed three [what I thought were] small cracks in the top of our heat exchanger. The technician fit us in quickly and arrived on time on a Thursday afternoon. After his inspection, he showed me what was happening to the lid and explained what would happen as the unit vibrated and the crack worsened (the lid holds the heavy motor). The cheapest fix would be a lid replacement, so they did a thorough search but they are no longer made. Sierra knew that we were in a hurry because we had 8 guests coming to live with us the following week for a wedding. They did some calling around and found a new unit that they could get quickly. They arranged for it on Friday and were able to install it first thing Monday morning, just before it got REALLY hot. We were so grateful to be cool!

My Home Warranty chose them, not me. First they tried to over charge the service fee by $20.00 and I had to argue about that. My a/c unit would not go below 78 degrees, never had this issue in the past and the unit isn't that old. The technician was here maybe 5 minutes, tells me it is normal for an a/c unit not able to keep up during these temperatures and then leaves. Please do not waste your time or money with this company. I also reported them to my home warranty company.

I was contracted to use them through HSA. They were supposed to call me and set up a service call but I heard nothing. It's over 100 degrees outside (and inside is 95) and my dogs and I have nowhere to go. I will change this review if they get the problem fixed tomorrow.
Edit: I had to call them and they said that they wouldn't come out until the middle of next week, more than a week after my ac went out. Unacceptable to refuse service during a heat wave. Don't use this company.
