December 2022-January 2023 - What a time for your boiler to go out. We have a 35 year old boiler that had an issue with its auto damper. Long story short - they don't make the parts anymore, the company has merged and is no longer in business (Smith Boilers). Ethan came by and looked at the situation and tried to fix it for over three hours on the Friday before Christmas. We thought we fixed it but it would not turn off! He spent several hours on Christmas Eve away from his family trying to help us. We went on a Holiday get away and the house basically sat with not heat for a week or so. When we got back - we had a new part delivered and it was "supposed" to work. we installed it and it did not! Ethan spent his own time researching and investigating and found a tech to walk him through the install on the phone from the OEM company. The easy thing to do was for Summit to say "sorry" have to buy a new one. But they (Ethan) worked to fix what we had for 1/10th of what they could have made by replacing it. I have used them for over a year with 106 year old home issues and I am a customer for life! They are terrific and I HGHLEY recommend them for any HVAC needs you have.

June 2022... Michael H, V. W. and Iowa worked on replacing a 22 year old system in a 100 degree attic. They did a terrific job, were respectful of the home, yard and installed a great system that is keeping our upstairs cool once again. Justin came out 24 hours later and inspected and tested all functions., Gave it an A+ and we are now ready for what the KC summer has to offer! I recommend Summit for your next project.

Summit heating and cooling is an exemplary HVAC company in Kansas City. My first technician was Eric. Great communication, punctual and thorough. He has since moved on but Ethan, as his replacement has also been excellent. The company has always been prompt with service requests, never tries to upsell me and the owner, when I had a small concern before Eric was our tech, was courteous, available and made it right.
As a senior citizen I have been through a number of service providers and am a quick study on integrity and trade acumen.

I have no reason to look anywhere else as Summit has exceeded every expectation.

Presley arrived early today, anticipating a routine filter replacement. What he actually encountered-- A 2hr long visit, 21 questions, and a puzzle related to our HVAC system and the whereabouts of our furnace. What could have been extremely stressful and a time-consuming, turned out to be an easy and somewhat laughable solution. Presley's positive attitude, friendly disposition, and enthusiasm to solve our HVAC-Mystery made the crisis completely manageable. **All the while, there was no up-charge for the additional time he invested in today's service.** We are very grateful for Presley's extra time and remain satisfied with our overall Summit H&C experience. Have been using Summit Heating and Cooling for the last couple of years and they've been great. Always responsive and polite. Always appreciate how they don't just point out what is wrong, but also point out what's working well and explain what it is they are doing, and even how you can occassionally mitigate/resolve future issues on your own.

Late Tuesday evening we started hearing a loud banging noise coming from our furnace every time it cycled on (and off as we later realized). Terry and Justin were out first thing the next morning and reinforced why I will continue using Summit for all of our HVAC needs. As it turned out, the issue wasn't anything major. One of the unit panels was somewhat flimsy and the pressure changes when the blower cycled on and off was causing the panel to pop in and out. They were able to reinforce the panel to stop the loud banging and made sure everything else was functioning properly. They even helped me realize I'm not the tech genius I thought I was, by pointing out how I could throttle up the humidity levels on our new Ecobee thermostats. We live in an old house where low humidity is always a concern in the winter, so that was a big relief. Might even be able to return one of the several desktop humidifiers I bought on Amazon to help combat a problem that happened to already have a solution attached to my wall!

I recently had Summit completely replace the A/C and furnace in my home as well as upgrade the thermostat. I was able to quickly set up a consultation with Mike to figure out what kind of systems would be best in my house and to work with me on financing. Michael, V.W., and Preston did an excellent job on the installation. They walked me through each part of the process to make sure that I was satisfied with the work done. I am glad that Summit was able to complete everything before the hot summer months. Thank you!

Their technician, Seth, was great! He spent extra time with me explaining how to gain efficiencies with our system and adjusting dampeners to help with a specific room. We’ve been using Summit for a few years now and every tech has been great.
