    Colonial installed a new furnace and A/C for us 3 years ago. That experience was good. This weekend we turned on our A/C due to unusually warm weather in October and noticed a smell (smells like an animal). Called them to get service and was told that they couldn't provide service until the spring (it's currently the fall). Bad customer service.

    I was referred to this company from the DTE protection plan to have them fix our dryer that was blowing cold air. Bryan came on a Wednesday to inspect our dryer. He informed us that it looked as if there was a small lint fire, he said he vacuumed all the lint out. He also stated that the exhaust vent was not properly attached and that every time I was running the dryer, carbon monoxide was filling the room. He stated that he reattached the vent securely so that it would no longer be an issue. Finally, he believed that the reason for the dryer not heating was due to a bad igniter and that he would have to order the igniter, and have it shipped to my house in 1-3 business days then they would have to come back to install. Slightly annoyed, I was hoping to have my dryer working that day and would now have to set aside another day to have them come back out. That night I needed to wash a load if laundry. I started the washing machine (that was working perfectly fine the day before Bryan started working in the laundry room), about 10 minutes later my husband started yelling, "we have a flood". Our entire laundry room, hallway and master bedroom was full of water. While Bryan was working on our dryer he knocked our washer waste line out of the wall. As we were cleaning up the water, we moved the washer out and noticed that the exhaust vent was not securely attached as we were told and had a hole in it. On Thursday morning I received a call from the company informing me that the igniter had been ordered and would arrive in 1-4 business days. I explained the catastrophe that had occurred the night before and stated that I was uncomfortable using my washing machine as I was uncertain that the waste hose was no longer secure after their technician had been out. He stated that he would pass this information along to the supervisor, and that they maybe able to come over before the part I was waiting on came in to make sure my washing machine would be usable. The supervisor, Marco, did call back a few hours later. I was unavailable at the time and we ended up playing phone tag. The part arrived on Friday evening. Saturday morning I tried calling again explaining the part had come in and that I would like Marco to give me a call so that we could discuss the mess that occurred after his technician left on Thursday. I was told that he would give me a call that afternoon, I never did speak with Marco. On Monday, Max came to install the new igniter. We asked him if he would reattach the exhaust vent, he explained that there was a tear in it and it would be unsafe for him to do so. We informed him that is how the last technician left it. After he opened the dryer up he stated that there was extensive fire damage and that he would have to condemn our dryer. When we asked why this wasn't explained to us when the first technician was here and waited days for the part to come in, Max stated that he had done many follow up appointments for Bryan and he seems to give customers wrong information often. In the end, this company flooded my house and never fixed my dryer. I would never trust/recommend this company to anyone.

    This company is awesome. I had an problem with my oven heating up. I called and they were able to get someone out same day. They sent Dan out who quickly diagnosed that my oven had a faulty ignitor. He had the part on his truck to resolve the issue. Highly professional company with quick and painless service. Thank you Colonial heating and cooling. You guys are rockstars!

    was done last Friday! Stephanie was on time, friendly and knowledgeable. It is not often I have seen lady technicians in this field but she knew her stuff. We are extremely happy with the service we have received from Colonial. We will not hesitate to contact them again when the need arises.

    Service was very prompt and serviced washer and dryer and did a good job fixing what needed to be fixed.
    The door on the dryer though was not put back correctly so had to schedule someone to come back out.

    I appreciated the next day service! Plus the tech arrived right on time, after giving me a 20 minutes out phone call. Very polite, efficient and informative. I do need additional service and he pointed me in the right direction. I will be using the plumbing service from Colonial.

    The two men that came out to the house were knowledgeable and quick to fix my AC. However the lady in the office that answered the phone was super rude, there was kids screaming in the background and she gave me a return appointment time and they never showed. So I called and asked what happened and she never scheduled my appointment, then blamed me saying that I never told her I had the parts that was to come in to fix the air conditioner. Then when I reminded her of are conversations and what she said to me, she snapped at me and said well no one is coming out today so they can come tomorrow!!!! No sorry no nothing. I told her well that is ok we all make mistakes and gladly schedule for the next day. So if you want someone to do a good job, differently call them just be prepared to wait for that follow up appointment.
