Update- the free maintenance as bad as the installation service. It's been 5 months they told us our ac unit wasnt dirty a few weeks ago. Its DIRTY!! we give up on apw. they still haven't finished the outside work. Everything after the sale is a complete letdown. was a Lowe's lead we signed up for that apw received and contacted us.. they Left pile loose rock around ac for no reason., cut up our siding, air holes at termination kit. Tore holes in duct over hot water heater.slot for filter installed behind the pvc pipes and sharp edge tears filter as you try to put filter in or out, failed to seal all pvc so water leaks, air holes left in duct on top of furnace, left wiring hanging next to furnace unattached to anything. Installed furnace 2 inches to left of where it was supposed to be so nothing fit right, did not clean or sterilize as promised before install, pvc pipes to outside installed improperly not as agreed upon, damaged gas valve with vice grips. Sales person did thorough walk through and inspection prior to sale. After that from installation on, nightmare. As promised they agreed to come make the repairs for issues they created but not willing to work with you on scheduling. So you have to take time off and lose income if you want to be there when the technician finally makes it back out. First repairs visit, they didn't bring right things to make repairs, 2nd visit canceled, no notice, no call. Now rescheduled because remaining repairs require actual hvac techs. We have had for about two weeks or so. All avoidable issues had original techs just put the furnace where it was supposed to go. They had full access from front and rear. Actual product seems decent but service after the sale is scary. Installation issues were self induced. Completely avoidable.
Great experience all around! Jamie was an amazing help finding the system at the budget we needed! I really like how he approached as a practical homeowner and not another salesman trying to make the biggest commission. Brian and Mark were very professional installing the equipment very clean looking and well put together! I initially had a problem with space but they were able to still give me everything I wanted within the space constraints! 100% would recommend!
I learned of a open position that they were trying to fill so I called and inquired. Surprisingly professional and courteous within a sentence or three I just knew this was going to be the start of my career. The relief I felt was palatable and comfy considering I have already met up with and interviewed at 8 other businesses that treated me like I either didn't exist or that I wasn't worthy of even a interview...,.,.
The actual system is nice(when it was running!), finally updating my houses hvac system nearly cut my electric bill in half so it was well worth it(so I thought). I would have given a 5 star, however I just was not happy with the miscommunication that went on while getting it replaced. I do NOT still recommend them. They at least held true to the quote I was given even after nearly 5 months. Edit: I would've updated this sooner but I got too busy with other things. Anyways. I had my HVAC system replaced around summer time of last year. Not even 6 months later one of the systems stopped functioning and wouldn't heat. After calling to try to set up an appointment with them they said I was not in service range. If that was true why come out and offer your warranty if you break the contract yourself by not coming out like agreed. Was at least satisfied with the work prior but after all the drama I have had to deal with this company I now make sure to tell everyone I can to never use these people.
I used this company to get a new furnace, AC and tankless water heater. Today, Doug came and did a complete humidifier service and blower cleaning w/duct cleaning. He did it quickly and made no mess at all. He also took care of some loose wires that were sitting on the furnace that I asked him about. I hadn't seen them before the last maintenance was done. Everyone I have had any dealings with at this company have been professional and courteous and they have done a great job at all times. I appreciate their professionalism .
They came out to repair my Air Conditioner 3 years ago and basically bullied me into a new system purchase. Since then they’ve been out to repair it one time and I had to throw the repairman out of my house because he was so rude, condescending, and unprofessional. I will never have them out to my house again.
Your worker, came out. Did not do a single thing. Told us it was too dirty and he couldn’t attach to the gauges (pictures below showing gauges fully able to be attached to). Left without diagnosing anything. Refuse to use this company ever again. DO YOUR JOB.
We used this company through our home warranty and they went above and beyond. The spotted the leak in our system very quickly, and worked with our home warranty company to cover the issue. We only had to pay the initial service call fee. I was highly impressed with their service and even more so with their follow up call making sure I was satisfied. 10/10 APW! Would highly recommend.
Prior to calling APW, I had another Heating and Cooling company out to look at my AC which had been shutting off. Long story short, I was advised they could remove some refrigerant in order to limp it into the fall so we could replace it at a later date, or we could just replace it now. I chose to have the refrigerant removed, and hoped for the best. 2 weeks later the house just couldn't stay below 80 degrees so I called APW to get a second opinion. They arrived at the early part of their window and got to work. Tyler Moore was the technician and he was very professional, explaining and showing me what the problems were and why they caused this issue. The next part is what won APW my business for life. Tyler explained the issue was misdiagnosed by my previous provider, meaning I was about 4lb light on refrigerant ($1300) and suggested I reach out to them to see if they would replace or reimburse me for it. Well I did, and they did agree to come do that. So Tyler saved me over $1000 and got the rest of his job done in a professional and efficient manner. Because of this, I signed up for their regular cleaning program.
When they price the heating and cooling systems as two separate prices, you know you are about to loose some money. 7k for cooling system and 5k for the heating system???
*(For those that don't know they are apart of the same unit. The same one that cost them $1500-3500)
This company is full of very polite and professional people. My observation, as a man who has been in commercial maintenance for 6 years, the prices are very inflated for repairs. I was quoted $3000 to replace a filter dryer (a $20 part around a 3ish hour job). I had another guy come out and fixed it for $400. The unit replacement costs are fair by market standards but are still inflated quite a bit. You get the benefits of not thinking twice about the unit if replaced by APW or other pro company, but it is not friendly to a middle class family budget. They will finance and work with you to a point, but you have to choose what is best for you. I would recommend them to anyone where money is not a deciding factor. 5 Stars for customer service -2 for pricing.
