Cates Heating & Cooling

The diagnosis of my AC unit went well , however they charged outrages amount to replace capacitor on the unit. The part cost less than $50 and I got charged $250 .
Very disappointed that they sacrifice their reputation for short term profit.
I would never recommend them in the future services.

I have used cates multiple times because it’s who carefree home warranty uses for all heating, plumbing and electrical services. Always amazing service except for an encounter This most recent visit there was a lot of miscommunication and I called to express this over the phone and the person who answered the phone was extreme rude and it wasn’t until I called him out on it that he verbalized that he was the owner, his name is Jeff. So hard to believe that this company is ran by such an unprofessional individual. Didn’t even apologize for what I was complaining about. My plumber that came out was great and did a great job, he’s been out to fix something for me before however the cost of my service was 525 (supposedly my warrant doesn’t cover it) crazy thing is the job only took a little less that 1 hour and I was quoted something completely different which is the miscommunication I was speaking on earlier. This all makes me want to reconsider renewing my warranty through carefree due to the service I received from the owner of cates, Jeff.

My air conditioner went out in the middle of the summer this year and Cates replaced it. I got quotes from several companies before I decided to go with Cates. I am very happy with that decision. The people I dealt with were very knowledgeable and straight forward when I was deciding what kind of unit to put in. The installation was fast and their technicians were professional. I noticed a big difference in my electrical bill compared to previous summers. I would use them again in the future.

Can’t say enough great things about Cates. Top notch customer service, knowledgeable technicians, and consistently good work. They consistently go above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. We loved the zoning they installed in our last house and the work they’ve done on our new home to make our basement more inviting. Love Cates!

I have been a client of Cates for 20 years now both at my retail store and also at my residence. Although every technician I have met in these past years have been great, I want to say that Ben H. has been so wonderful! I appreciate him explaining the problem and taking care of what needed to be done with such efficiency. In my situation my furnace went out on a Friday and Ben got it running over the weekend waiting to pick up a part on Monday morning to actually fix the problem. I was so impressed the Ben took the time to check with me during the weekend to make sure all was still running and warm. Thanks Cates and THANKS BEN H.!!!!! You are so Great!

Professional, courteous, cautious with our furniture, carpet, etc. They were knowledgeable and showed us how to use our new equipment. Cleaned up after themselves, price was as quoted, even wore booties in our house to keep floor clean! Joe Stephens and Dillon Brooks are amazing and I would recommend Cates to everyone.

Our service man, Brian, was on time, courteous and thorough in the inspection of our AC Unit. We have switched to Cates Heating and Cooling after another big heating and cooling company has tried to convince us we need new AC/Heating units with each maintenance visit. Cates gives us a honest assessment and will economically fix issues before suggesting new units.

Cates heating and cooling is by far the best! They came out and showed me what was wrong, we ordered what was needed, within hours my furnace and air conditioner were installed and working well. What puts them over the top is the simple fact they called the next day to make sure everything was going well. Very polite staff and friendly. I recommend them to any one.

Installation team Joe and Dillin arrived on time, were professional and did a great job. They had to work around 2 demanding large dogs and my very particular husband. I would recommend Cates to anyone in my family.

With over 30 years of service from Cates Heating & Cooling, I am still a happy customer. Their technicians have always been honest and fair with repairs and notification of potential problems. Yes, at times seems like filters etc. are high in price, but they are guaranteed vs having to return the wrong size or wrong one altogether to the store.
