Our 10 year old AC began to fail and Matt was the first kind soul from Cates to come out and replace the capacitor. 2 days later, the motor failed. This company told me the risk of continuing repairs on this unit, or they said I could deduct the cost of the motor from a new unit. Dan the salesman from Cates was awesome and no pressure on the sales and options—- just very friendly and honest. I could tell he is passionate about what he does. Nicest guy! Then , once we picked out a unit (furnace and AC), Dillon and Nick came out to install the very next day before a major heatwave. They were so friendly and very professional. I cannot say enough great things about Cates Heating and Cooling. HIGHLY recommended. Great value, honest, amazing company. THANK YOU!!!

The technicians at Cates who installed my furnace were outstanding. Dillon and Dillin were very knowledge, very willing to explain all facets of the install, and were very meticulous. Furthermore they were courteous and very concerned about keeping my house clean. I had my 20yo A/C and furnace replaced and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. I'm an architect, so I tend to be pretty fussy when it comes to selecting contractors and working out the details of a project. The sales and installation staff made at least four trips to my house to review the existing condition, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and provided satisfactory pricing. The installers were professional, prompt and did very clean work, even protecting the floors leading to the work area without being asked. I will most certainly be calling them back the next time I need plumbing, electrical or HVAC work.

Had my blower fan go out on my furnace and was having trouble with my a-coil on my AC. Cates gave me several options for replacement and ultimately I decided to have a new furnace and a-coil installed due to the warranties provided. Cates was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great install staff made sure everything was working correctly again. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Wow! Stephen is the best maintenance tech ever. He not only did all of my regular maintenance - he gave me an education on my humidifier operation as well as my dampers. The things I never knew! Super helpful. Cates Heating & Cooling is always professional and I trust them aboslutely.

I have to update my review from 5 to 2 stars. I pay for a home warranty through Carefree Home Warranty which is handled by Cates. They upped the service charge from $70 to $85 due to gas price increases without notifying me. Then, when I finally needed to use the service I’d been paying for for 3 years, they try to tell me that I’m going to have to pay $1400 to stop a leak in the AC and also for the Freon required to refill it. It specifically says that that is covered on the website. The tech went on to tell me that I can call Cates and speak to a manager but it won’t do much good because it’s not covered, I’ll only get 15% off. He was dismissive, combative, and unhelpful, dare I say rude? As a frustrated home owner, I never thought I’d be treated this way by a company that I faithfully pay MONTHLY and barely ever use. One call to the office and the service manager says “oh, I thought he said R-22, yeah it’ll just be $85 today.” Are you kidding me? So you scare me to death and can’t even bother to get the question internally correct, and the customer has to handle it? Imagine if I had agreed to the $1400 charge and it was in fact covered!!!!!! Absolutely STUNNED by this exchange and the lack of professionalism, integrity, and care for the client. Truly never thought this would be how I’d be treated, but maybe I shouldn’t be surprised after being hit on by the first tech (again, unprofessional, but I let it slide.) This, not so much.

Our office contacted Cates on a referral for our property management business. Working with the Director of Operations, a vendor agreement was initiated and assurances were received from Cates that the service calls would be handled the following day. A follow up call to the Director confirmed all of the information was received and that services would be performed. Late in the day the Director left a voicemail requesting a return call and no other information. A follow up the following morning determined that Cates had no intentions of following through with the arrangement or conducting the needed service calls with 90+ temps. Very poor handling and unprofessional business-to-business relations. They may be okay for individual homeowners, but not recommended for business needs.

We were very impressed with this company and their quote was reasonable compared to the other quotes we received. Dan LoScalzo was thorough with his assessment and the company was able to provide us with a complete solution: replacing our AC unit and running new ductwork to force air to the second story. The technicians showed up on time every day, they were respectful, skilled, and knowledgeable, and very hard workers. We are very satisfied with the entire project and have already started recommending them to family and friends.

The Dylan’s were some of the most professional and friendly people I’ve used for HVAC. Firstly, my dog loved them & she doesn’t like anyone. 2nd they were on time for both appointments. They worked in a tight crawl space from 9-4:30. Also very knowledgeable about our old systems! 10/10 stars would refer to anyone & everyone I know. Cannot say enough great things about them and their representation of Cates. I also work from home like most to do today & they made it so easy.

I've been a customer of Cates heating & cooling for over 20 years. In my opinion they are one of the best in their business. Good customer relationship and they have the knowledge and expertise to handle the situation. The employees are professional and completely helpful in explaining to the customer if either having new ac/Htg install or repair work done. I depend on Cates to get the job done right the first time. Good dependable company and a 5 star rating.
