On Christmas Eve we discovered our water heater was leaking. Althoff was the only company in the area that actually answered the phone and responded to our situation. Carl Baker (the tech that came out) did a fantastic job. He was very thorough and efficient and was able to get our water heater replaced and up and running before our guests arrived. Not only did he do a great job, he was very kind and understanding. Thank you for a job well done!

Had a central air conditioner replaced. Shawn our installer was prompt, explained all he was going to do. Reviewed everything when work was completed. Very satisfied with entire process.

We would give it a zero star if we could. They charged us non-refundable $175 to estimate installing a check valve underneath our kitchen sink to prevent the sewage water to come back to the kitchen sinks. They provide a quote of $897 to just install a check valve on a drain line. We can hardly believe the amount they try to charge us. We can purchase a decent check valve from Amazon with less than $50. We will not hire them to do the job and will never use their service in the future. So far, we have spent $175 for nothing.

I thought all the employees I encountered, were very knowledgeable and professional. I had my choice of companies to go with, and I’m glad I chose Althoff.

Althoff services the HVAC for our Condo association and also for many owners. I've used them for many years for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.They give great service, are friendly, prompt, highly competent and user-friendly. I've dealt with many vendors both professionally and for my needs over the decades, and Althoff is by far the best.

I used Althoff based on the 4.8 star rating. This experience has eroded my faith in review boards.

Althoff refuses to provide itemized estimates. Shame on me for not stopping the process right there, but it's February and my tenant was rightfully panic'd so I proceeded w the job

They charged $674 dollars to replace an actuator on my HVAC unit. The parts cost under $100 retail. They guy was in and out of the condo in 40 minutes. This all after a 90 dollar service call that was not credited toward the job. But fine, I got taken to the cleaners on that.

This next part is a bit more twisted because they straight up lied... They quoted me $850 to install a specific type of high voltage thermostat. It just didn't feel right so I did some research. Well my building confirmed the appropriate unit costs $190 total (same Honeywell unit that Althoff proposed). Althoff claimed "wiring needed to be run from the box" and labor would be 2.5 hours. The problem w that claim is that my building manager confirmed that no wiring is needed at all. Further, I later learned that my neighbor had one installed in 30 mins and was charged exactly $300 all in.
