Am taking a moment to pass along recognition for this company for being supportive with information for a great line of products. My sister bought her first mini-split from Pioneer years ago, and was so impressed that she showed her friends as well ... they put units in each home and were amazed at how much better the home climate was and at substantial savings. I cannot think of any way that the company can do better! Great product, service, prices, quality, delivery, support!

Please stay far away from this company. The technical support agents have no clue about the technical operation of the units. I called numerous times in order to obtain information about he sizing of the units. I was always asked what size space i was trying to heat or cool, but never asked about ceiling height, state location, kitchen areas, insulation etc. This all makes a difference when picking out the size unit you need.

I decided to place an order anyway after I did more research. The only reason for this is because of the warranty. Many companies void the warranty if you self install and make contractors will not touch these units since they are "sour" in regards to not purchasing the units through there distributor etc. With installation cost exceeding 6 thousand dollars, it is a no brainer for someone who is handy to install themselves and still retain a warranty.

Most of the competitor units are white-labeled by a large company named Midea who is one of the largest, if not the largest manufacturers of HVAC units in the world. I decided to try Parker Davis because they are located in the USA, even though they source production overseas for many items, it is nice to have a company still supporting American workers.

I ordered a unit and was told I would receive information on Monday about my order. No information was received. Called on Tues and had to speak with my rep "who was out to lunch". I never received a callback and had to call them again. I was then informed that they were out of stock of the unit I ordered. I lost my cell signal, and they didn't even bother calling me back.

I followed up with a manager on 6-21-23 in regard to my dissatisfaction in a professional manner. It is not her fault that they have many employees who are not skilled with the product they are selling. She heard what I had to say without interrupting me and stated she would pass the information along. This further goes to show you that this company is so massive, a guest-recovery was non-essential after she was informed my order will be canceled. This also dictates on how future issues will be resolved with warranty/parts. The headaches are already present with just receiving a confirmation, how do you think support after the sale will be, most likely non-existent this is a pattern in regards to the other 1-star reviews.

The proper follow-up would have gone something like this " I am truly sorry you are having an awful experience with our company, would you allow me the opportunity to rectify it"? Most reasonable customers are going to say "yes". Get a trained person on the phone and address the sizing issues during a three-way call, check stock while on the phone to ensure it is not back ordered, throw in an additional 5 percent discount or something to make the customer feel important, and follow-up immediately with shipping information via phone.

Dealing with large companies like this who no longer value a small sale will lead to headaches in the future. Support after the sale is as important as the sale itself. Check out Senvile or another competitor as they offer better customer service and a stronger warranty when installed by a professional.

3 years after purchase the main bearing from the fan began making noise on my Pioneer unit and I contacted their support. Less than 5 minutes later a new motor was en route to my house. All covered under warranty. Great experience!

You got this.

- Great customer support (knowledgeable , polite , and helpful EVERY time I called)

- Step by step instructions that are easy to follow and complete in their descriptions.

- easy install (other manufacturers imply that the task is not DIY)

- Sharp looking unit

- Quiet operation

My advice is Order direct from pioneer and install it yourself

This thing was so easy to install , I have no idea why all the other companies tried to dissuade me. I used a quality tubing cutter and an eccentric flare tool. I torqued all my fittings to the proper pressures given by pioneer. I built a stand with a roof for the outdoor condenser unit that matches the house. I took my time and scrutinized every little detail in the mechanics and the installation instructions. It all seems top notch. As I sit here testing the unit on a cool morning writing this with the heat pump on heat mode I am blanketed in wonderful warm air. Later in the day I will be switching to cool mode to continue testing the mini splits performance.
I completed my install yesterday. I was given several estimates ranging from five to ten thousand dollars for an 18,000 btu mini split installed by a technician. After doing some research I decided that the work was not beyond my capabilities. I started looking for a retailer that would sell me a unit. All of the retailers I spoke to were eager to sell me a unit , but before I researched pioneer I noticed a pattern of inconsistency in the information I was given regarding the performance and specifications of other manufacturers units. (This unit was installed in Vermont where winter temps drop below 0 Fahrenheit)

I decided to purchase a unit from a well known box store, on their website the pioneer units with hyper heat stood out.
First thing I did was call the pioneer tech support line, they (unlike other companies) answered my call straight away and answered my questions regarding the quality control of their manufacturing. That call gave me the confidence required. All of the other manufacturers I had contacted had been unwilling to encourage me to install a unit myself and insisted that I hire a technician.
After I ordered the unit from the box stores website I ordered the tools and most of the accessories I needed from Amazon. A couple days after I ordered from Amazon I decided I needed the decorative refrigerant line cover kit & so I ordered it directly from pioneer. The line cover kit was delivered to my door before anything I ordered first from either the big box store or Amazon. One of the items I ordered from Amazon was the kwik e vac kit sold by pioneer. The existence of the kwik e vac kit let me know that pioneer intended for their mini split to be installed by someone that did not own a vacuum pump. The instructions for the kit also described using it to run a positive pressure test on the flare fittings. After some thought I decided that getting the kwik e vac kit meant I didn’t need to buy a vacuum pump , gauge set, nitrogen tank and nitrogen regulator. The cost of those tools would have been about $500.
Install was a piece of cake , almost every little thing I needed was included in the kit. (I did supply and use different drywall anchors for the indoor unit and double sided tape at the beginning and end of my vinyl tape wrap) only thing left to do for this one is run it and see if it lasts a decade.
Now that this one is done I’m about to go install one in Phoenix AZ for a family member that will be used to cool a shop/garage in 115 degree heat and it too will be a pioneer. I’m already planning on installing one next year for my sister again here in Vermont and it too will be a pioneer.
If you are generally handy and follow all of the directions precisely…
You got this.

Bought 1 12k and 2 9k 110/120 volt. Very quiet. Very good installation instructions. Packaged excellently. Easy to install. Works fantastic for me.

Got an 18,000 BTU minisplit from these guys and it’s been great. I’ve got it set up for my home gym and have had no issues—-blows cold air and is more than sufficient for its size as far as how strong it is. Outside unit is extremely quiet as well as the inside unit. Remote works great and with the Wi-Fi module I can remote access it through the app and schedule it to come on for my early morning workouts. Great app too. It’s not some garbage app that is buggy and doesn’t connect well. Great company and support responds quickly when contacted!!!

This is the company who handles all the pioneer unit warranties. I had a unit with a manufactured date that was 4 years ago, but they refused to honor the compressor failure under warranty because “I didn’t register the product”. If my manufactured date was over 5 years ago I could understand this, but with their being no question that the unit was used less than 5 years, this feels like a sneaky way to get out of honoring their acclaimed 5 year warranty.

I purchased 4- WYT036GLFI19RL systems and have been using them less than a year. I have had nothing but problems from all but 1 of the units. The units are under powered, and set temps are way off (set cool to 71 and the room will get to down to 63)
Today HVAC came again to check a unit and the compressor is bad. It is covered under warranty and they are sending out a replacement but I'm on the hook for the labor intense swap out required. I have LG units at a different location that have been in use for 3 years with not one issue or servicing required (only cleaning of filters). Pay extra and get LG mini split units.

I called two days after I ordered unit and left voice mail to Angie no response so I left email to company would get back to me. Well still no response to voice message or email. I finally got invoice because I threaten to cancel order. It's a sad way to run a business especially new customer. I won't be using this company for squat!@

No follow through once they have your money! Ordered 2 units and they both arrived damaged. Emailed and called for months. They always promised to send me the replacement parts but never did. Now that it's cold, one of the units isn't defrosting. They promised to send out replacement parts but here I sit with a $2500 piece of junk that won't heat. Frustrating to say the least. Purchase something from a reliable "local" dealer so you can walk in and they have to face you. The nice thing is I'm a retired HVAC contractor and I've been steering everyone away from these guys! They got my $5000 but their lack of customer service has cost them 10 fold and I'm not done yet!
