A & P Heating & Cooling Inc. is one of the finest companies I have had the pleasure of doing business with. The process of replacing an entire home HVAC system is daunting to say the least. There is equipment to select and some fine installation companies to choose from. Trust is absolutely required as there are opportunities for misrepresentation during the entire process. A & P showed themselves to be completely straightforward, reliable and trustworthy. Their finest asset are their employees. To a person they were knowledgeable, ethical, reliable and most importantly dedicated to our entire satisfaction with the new HVAC system. The owner - management of this company sets the tone for this kind of service, and I can't ask for a finer business model. My wife and I live in a retirement community. We need to get projects correctly done the first time. Choosing A & P Heating & Cooling ensured we did exactly that.

I was going to go with a the Aqua Chill system that was recommended by our local utility district. That was until I spoke to Steve at A and P. He worked for the company that makes it and had clear knowledge of its many shortfalls. He back this up with a article describing everything that he said. Bottom line was, this aqua chill system uses water to cool the condenser and if anybody knows water in Sacramento, it is hard, it forms scale on the condenser tubing. this lowers the efficiency year by year until after 5 to 10 years the system is worthless. Also the system uses water and we're in a drought we need to reduce water not use more, this system was not for me.
So, two days later Shannon came out looked over the home, listened to what we needed then gave us a quote. This sounds like it was a fast process but it took about 3 hours. It was highly detailed according to our needs and her background. By the end, it was not a quote, it was the price and they stuck by it. We were going to have 2 more companies quote too but, we liked Shannon and Steve we went with them.
Steve then came out on Thursday to do a thorough site survey. On Monday, Brian, Justin and Judah showed up and started the installation. Shannon, also showed up the day of the installation and brought lunch for the guys and checked out the work. By Tuesday afternoon it was completely done. They went beyond expectations adding new ducts and doing a couple of changes but never added a nickel onto the quote. They just made everything right . A third party inspection was made to check out how well the units were sealed. 15% leakage is acceptable, they came in at 4%. New homes have to be no more than 5% so I ended up with better than new home and no dust is going to be flying in the house. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I would. I would absolutely recommend them...

Technician very knowledgeable and helpful. Esthetics of the back yard (in terms of hiding the compressor) were considered even before I mentioned it. Very willing to spend time to make sure I understood how every thing worked and making suggestions that were spot on. Office staff extremely helpful in scheduling and coordinating financing and SMUD rebate.

Thermostat was unresponsive at certain tomes of day. He correctly and tactfully diagnosed the issue (user error) and helped me get it right.

These guys define professionalism. First, I believe in Trane heat and air units. The first one I had lasted 23 years with not one service call. I did have A&P do annual maintenance visits the last 3 years of that units life because I was getting concerned about being left in the heat or cold one day because of it's age but they assured me it was still working fine, so no pressure, right!. So when on the last of those visits they found an issue that could actually leave me in the heat or cold one day, there was no question who I would purchase my new unit from. I decided not to play Russian roulette and just got a new Trane unit from A&P. The quote they gave me was the actual finished cost, the installers knew exactly what they were doing, were neat, clean and respectful and fast! My new unit is wonderful. I am very pleased with Trane and with A&P.

The estimate was accurate, the parts obtained in a timely manner and the unit fixed as expected. All health and safety precautions were taken. Excellent experience and we will call them the next time something happens with our heating or cooling.

A&P has an excellent service engineer, Lance Sarnecki. It's easy to see he is very skilled. On this service call, he went "over and above" to see that I was helped. A&p is tops in my opinion.

They were requesting an insane amount—- $415 to snake a drain. A brand new tool costs $375. So I decided to rent one for $60 a day and save the money.

My husband Gary and I have had A & P as our heating and colling company for a number of years.We were tol, afew months ago that we needed a new system and they went over everything that was needed and we received good information. We are very satisfied with their work, the new system and their helpful answers to questions that were asked.
