Technicians were great; however the company charged me for parts they did not install. They were typically running two hours behind schedule for scheduled appointments and it took 3 visits to "fix" my AC. Still cannot get my home below 77 during the daytime hours. Would not recommend

The communication with all of the HCEC office staff is the worst that I have ever experienced. To start, I left 3 messages at the office to confirm an initial appt time and never received a call back. At that point, I was already working on getting another service provider when a guy called and said he would be there soon to do the assessment (good thing we were home). Next, when we learned the timeframe for the work to be completed, I inquired with the office about a portable unit since my son has breathing issues and the heat was exacerbating them. The lady I spoke to said she would see what was available and give me a call back. I never received a call. Then I was notified that the parts were available for pickup on Monday, so I called the office that day to schedule an appointment for the install. The soonest appointment they had was Friday, but the guy said we were the first install and someone would be here by 9am. I stayed home from work waiting for the job to be completed. By 1045, no one had showed up or called, so I called them. They told me they would find out what was going on and call back. An hour passed with no return call. I called the office again. This time, they said someone would be here in an hour. Still no one showed up. I called the office 5 more times and each time I was told “they will be there in an hour” or the service tech will be calling you. Finally around 8:30pm, they showed up to do the job. I never once received a curtousy call to let me know that our appointment time had changed or was ever given a correct ETA. I missed out on going to work, had to cancel Friday night plans, and spent almost 12 hours waiting around in a 86 degree house for someone to call me back/show up. This is completely unacceptable. The only positive is that the guys that showed up to do the install were professional and polite. I felt bad for them as I know they were exhausted and had already put in so many hours for the day. This office needs to get it together and learn to communicate with their customers and consider hiring more staff so that work isn’t being done until 11pm.

Lies, lies, lies!!! Installed new heating and AC unit. Wasn't distributing the air evenly so half the house was hot and half cold. Antwain sold me on a new duct system as that was supposed to make a HUGE improvement in the air distribution. The problem was not helped after spending a total of over $11,000 on their equipment and labor. Antwain finally agreed I needed a bigger unit; they had misjudged what was required. I could never get him to come and install even though he said it was purchased, delivered and sitting in his building. He was spread thin due to all the work they had lost from unacceptable work and only had 1 helper. By the time I thought we were going to have the equipment finally installed I could not get in touch with anyone at the office or Antwain's cell. It appeared they had gone out of business. During this entire time my husband and sister, who were both 100% disabled with low resistance, were getting colds, bronchitis, etc. due to the inadequate cooling and/or heating. Antwain was aware of our situation and still lied and avoided us like the plague. Great way to treat a 100% Disabled American Veteran and his family...NOT!!!

These guys took an entire month to do a job they said they would get done in 2 days! We had to constantly call to find out when they were coming out. Not to mention our contract says we pay half up front and the rest when the job is done. These guys were trying to get us to pay the second half of the money before they were done! Said they needed payment for the work they had done up to that point because they needed to pay their guys. Ridiculous! We also made it very clear our ac cannot be out long since we had an 8 week old baby. Even with the crappy window ac they let us borrow, it was 80-85 degrees in the house for 2 weeks. That's when they finished half the job and had most of our ac working. My husband went under the house and found they used cheaper material than what was in the contract and did a poor job of sealing everything up. Had to call them and have them fix it twice before we would pay. These guys were terrible. I would never use them again. Only bright side was the guys that came out were really nice and friendly.

I am pleased with the work done changing from an oil furnace to gas furnace plus AC. My house is cooler than it has ever been during the summer months. Mike explained the entire process prior to commencing project, suggesting a way to keep pipesfrom hanging too low in basement. John made certain work area cleaned each day and when I asked questions or expressed concerns those issues resolved within 2 days. A competent team.Thanks

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! They were very quick to take my money to install a new HVAC system but only months later when the season changed and heat was required, the unit failed. The heat ran constantly, ignoring all heating limits, even when the unit was in the “off” position. HCEC came to inspect and acknowledged a faulty part that needed to be replaced. They disconnected my system and that was the last I heard from them. It’s been over two months later, I’ve placed dozens of calls to the HCEC office and I still can’t get a call back from them. Occasionally I get a hold of a receptionist but it’s the same answer, I need to look into it and call you back. Guess what, never a call back.

I was initially referred to them through Home Advisor. Home Advisor even stepped in and was successful in contacting the owner, however the owner (Mr. Antwain Chatman) told them he wasn’t interested in honoring my warranty or resolving my issue. Home Advisor has since kicked HCEC off their site. This should be a clear sign NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY. Read other reviews, I should have done more homework myself. Other customers have had similar problems, in face a few have already taken HCEC to court. DO NOT USE THEM. ANTWAIN CHATMAN IS A SHADY BUSINESS MAN.

I’m an hvac tech and had a landlord contact me about coming behind hcec and verifying that unit had leak on capillary tube in condenser and that compressor was bad. This is after they changed the air handler, filter drier and even blamed the air filter being put in upside down. The unit was low on freon but the leak was on a suction line coupling at the air handler from when it was installed. Not on capilary in condenser. After fixing everything the right way the compressor came on and runs fine. I won’t say the whole company may be like this but a company shouldn’t send a technician that doesn’t know what he’s doing. Was told he came out about ten times. Crazy. Be careful.

After 2 other companies, sent by my warranty company where unable to find the problem with my a/c ( one of which left a stain in my carpet) Dan from this company came at 7:00 on a Saturday night. He was curteus and respectful. Within 30 minutes he found a shorted wire from my thermostat. I've instructed my warranty company not to send any other companies.

This company installed a gas water heater in my home. I had my home evaluated for a new air conditioning system on July 2019. The workers from the new company found out that my gas water tank was releasing carbon monoxide in the attic. The company never had the tank inspected after the job. Anytime a job in your home consist of gas or plumbing, it requires an inspection after the job. This company did not practice the appropriate requirements for city codes. Please be mindful that an inspection is required for jobs in the home. This company is dangerous with their practices. The releasing of carbon monoxide could have killed my famil and this was going on fo a long time. Please do research before hiring and this company was referred through a home warranty. Practice safety and research.

Horrible customer service. Hired them because they said that they can do a plumbing job as well as replace the drywall when done. We were told that someone would contact us regarding the drywall part a few days later, and no one did. We contacted them and never got a decent reply nor a quote for drywall replacement, and they don't bother to fix the situation. Not to mention, the job that was done was overpriced according to people I've asked.
