My elderly friend was without heat. I spoke to Mike Robeson who went to her house even though it was on the weekend. He determined the problem with the antiquated system and somehow was able to get it working until a new unit could be installed 3 days later. He and his co-workers, Nate and Mark, arrived at 8:30 AM as promised and had the new Lennox heating and air conditioning units installed by 3:00 PM. They left the area clean and made sure my friend knew how to operate the system and that she was satisfied with their work before they left. I cannot say enough good things about Mike Robeson and his company. I will be calling him when it is time to replace my system.

After going through 2 other companies that were sent out by our home warranty company and having no heat for over a month, we finally called HCEC and they had our unit fixed very fast! The technicians were very helpful and the office staff was wonderful! We will definitely be referring friends and family to HCEC and will use them in the future if need be.

Integrity and quality are two words that DO NOT come to mind with this company. We own a home in Virginia Beach but were out of state for military orders. We had renters and the ac went. Our home warranty company hired HCEC to install a new unit. It was a horrible experience and still is. From not knowing where parts were, to technician not installing it correct (twice now) and our renters just informed us that the technician was saying it was our fault (instead of taking ownership for installing the brand new system correctly. HORRIBLE experience and we are still cleaning up their mess... a state a way!

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!! I cannot stress it enough! They LIE, CHEAT and STEAL!!! SEVENTY TWO (72) DAYS, THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS, and a COURT DATE to sue later...
I have legit proof of this and this is far from an exaggeration! I regrettably trusted the reviews from Angie's List and Home Advisor to request service and hire them to replace my HVAC. Well to make a long story short as possible, I cancelled with them and for good reason as I found out with a second opinion that I did not need a $5K HVAC unit. I was told by HCEC that there is a 15% non refundable fee but then later told that I would receive my refund in full. This has been a long going issue from 9/23 until 11/9/18 when I FINALLY received my money minus the later promised 15% by Tabitha. Between all of the correspondence via 50+ email, 100+ calls, and texts from late Sept to middle Nov they've done nothing but lie to me. Mrs. Latasha Campbell and Tabitha made false promises of when I would receive my money. It was not until I literally had to file charges against them to receive payment hence why I FINALLY got paid. They make the claim that they "issued me a check" back in October. I NEVER received said check. They claim that they put a stop payment on it as they provided a supposed "copy" of this check for proof that it was "sent". It was not until I filed charges that they "re-issued" me another check via certified mail this time around. I requested that I personally pick it up vice receiving it in the mail due to their failed "attempt" to mail it the first time. They refused to allow me to pick it up and lied previously about promising to have it personally delivered. Fast forward to today we go to court as I requested and felt that I should be reimbursed my court cost for having to file in the first place. I was denied and the judge took their side despite my proof of their incompetence and despite their LACK of proof of said stopped payment. The judge was very bias as he stated that he agreed with me but instead sided with them all because they provided a "copy" of a supposedly issued check. Moral of this story/review...do NOT trust this company. It is apparent that they have been playing this long game and knows all the tricks of their trade. As long as they make a copy of any check claiming that it was issued without any proof of cancelling supposed check then they win. The owner would NEVER call, NEVER respond, and refused to ensure that I as a customer was satisfied. They will state that the delay in their "attempt" to issue me the check the first time was because of a dispute for me to receive my full amount in its entirety. I argue that no matter the reason they owed it me to have issued me SOMETHING rather than NOTHING resulting in an unnecessary prolonged payment. No one can ever pay me any amount of money to ever receive any kind of service from them nor to recommend them to anyone!!!!!!!!! I literally HATE and DESPISE this company with every fiber of my being and existence!

I hired HCEC Group LLC of Chesapeake VA to perform the complete removal of my existing duct and HVAC system in my 1760 sq. ft. RANCH style home. My previous air handler was located above my bedroom in a pan in the attic. Attic access was at the other end of the house in the garage. This old R-22 system was hard to access and repair, posed possible ceiling leaks, not Energy efficient and noisy. The work performed also included installation of new metal round metal insulated duct capable of running a new energy efficient Goodman 16 Seer R410 3 ton system with a stand up air handler to be installed in garage allowing easy access. The previous system was a 2 ½ ton Carrier system using boxed duct. HCEC limited was the second bidder out of four bids on the project. They were the low bidder with a very reasonable price. Other bids ranged to the extreme, while others were a bit high as they wanted to make the project more complex and costly using extra dampers piping, air routing box duct etc. This project took place during a time of mild temperature, as not to expose workers to excessive heat conditions in the attic.
My installer foreman from the HCEC group was a fellow by the name of Andrew who flawlessly wired and in installed the new HVAC system. The duct work installation did not exactly follow the rewritten agreed up contract specifications concerning supply dampers. I guess that information was not passed on. In hind sight however the original proposal did not included them as they were never there in the first place. They are apparently not needed and would have added adjustment air balancing issues to the project. Mike and Andrew were correct in the initial assessment of the duct work needed. Usually the KISS principal works best. The workers showed up on time to work on the project, and were very courteous. After checking up in the attic a slight bit more time could have been spent on clean up, as fair amount of wrapping materials nylon bands, unused PVC pipe and other construction materials were left up there. The new system seems to perform well with increased air flow throughout the home and I expect great home energy savings. My new Goodman equipment is warranted for ten years parts and HCEC Group LLC warrants the labor for a year. I do encourage and recommend this company for others in my area to look into as they do good work at a fair and honest price with less gouging based on my experience. Mike and Andrew have earned Kudos.

DO NOT USE THIS Company!!!

This company was scheduled to come out on September 18, 2108 to fix my HC AC unit. the system was working but not at full capacity. Upon their arrival they fixed issues and check the pressure in the unit. The following day I got a phone call from technician who serviced my unit. He asked if he had left his gauges near my condenser unit. Upon verification I said yes. He then told me he would either be out later that night or the following day. The next day

My house got severely hot, upon further inspection I found that he left the gauges attached to my unit causing the unit to drain of freon/ R22. Upon me calling the company again, I explained my issue. When the operator or whomever couldn't give me any kind of answers I ask to speak to the manager.... Tabitha. Upon explaining the issue to her she became rude and began to talk over me and stated that leaving the gauges attached would not cause the unit to drain refrigerant. I then asked her if she was at HVAC technician and she said no but she had been in the industry long enough to know they could not have caused the leak. Keep in mind the gauges attached had long hoses that were dry-rotted and the gauge were damaged. The company did not come out until September 24th. Even after numerous phone calls between the times I found out that the gauges had cause my leak. Upon the Arrival of the Second tech (Jacob was very courteous) he determined that one of the fittings where loose... Hence the Leak. The second tech even photographed the gauge via his phone and sent them off to someone. It should have not taken numerous days for them to fix a problem they caused.

I was connected with my home warranty company. The person that came to service our outside unit was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything and fixed our capictor on our outside unit very quickly. I Would definitely recommend. Reason for 4 stars is because at first we had a little miss communication on scheduling other then that everything was great.

Totally great experience with HCEC! I called, as I am new to the area, was promptly greeted with great customer service. I had a few more detailed questions regarding billing, payments, etc and was transferred to the office manager, LaTasha Campbell who was very helpful and a delight to speak with.
When the tech came out to service our air conditioner, once again, I was greeted with friendliness and a smile. The tech checked out our unit, advised us of the issues and costs.
I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of but treated kindly especially not being from the area and not knowing who to contact for service.
I highly recommend HCEC Group for all your HVAC needs. I will definitely be calling in the fall for a furnace check up!

Total Rip Off! Do not use this company. I guess they were ok in the past, but now they are ripping people off. Tabitha Philips and Antwain gave me a quote for $2,317 for digging a trench and installing a new gas line. They asked for a $800 deposit and never returned. They did say they were coming on 3 different instances but never arrived. So far and been 53 days that they took the money and did no work. I have asked for a refund a few weeks ago and they keep giving me answers like, the accounting manager is not here, I’ll have an answer next week, now she is sick again, etc. I keep asking for updates on my refund and now they are not answering my calls or answering my texts.

So to summarize, this company asked for a large deposit and did no work at all with no explanation why they missed every appointment, and they refuse to give a refund. This goes beyond just bad work, this is theft.

When my ac unit went out we had one of the local companies that advertise a lot come out and repair it. They did but recommended we get a new system since this would be a band aid for the age of the unit and the Freon is no longer used. They gave us an estimate on a new system which was a good price. So I contacted HCEC Group LLC for another estimate. On time the technician looked over my system found an item that was installed incorrectly from the original company I purchased from 12 years ago which he showed me how it was supposed to be installed and why it could not be reverse without pulling the system out and putting it back in. Long story short they provided me a quote with more options than the first company at a cheaper price. They came out and installed both units , zonal system and air filtration system in one day with professional results. I would like to mention the technician also provided me the option of different systems but recommended for me the middle of the road system that will save us money as well as keep us very comfortable. He was right this system is quiet and very strong and I am glad I took his advice. Thanks Antwon and Mike JOB Well DONE!!! 3/1/2018. I will come back in several months to say more about the system Lennox and after the sell service. Which I know will be great as well.
