I am a property manager and had a home warranty call for the Air conditioner, HCEC was assigned. Parts needed to be ordered (Evap coil) and when they arrived made appointment to install. A few days before the installation I was contacted and told there would be additional charges for copper re-rout, coolant recovery, and old coil removal. Not know much about A/C units I told them fine on the first two but now on coil haul off. They put me on hold and had me wait for several minutes then disconnected me. on the day of install was contacted again and told the same thing it was going to be $243 on top of the service charge. above my limit for authorization. I asked again for them to leave to coil so I could haul it off ($50 charge). Was told it was not going to happen and it had to be payed before install. Called owner and got it payed. Guess what they left? The coil. So now there is the $50 charge for the haul off of the coil they left behind. I carried it out of there and took it to the city recycling (which they took for free). I have called four times to address this and keep getting told they are either not there or in a meeting. REFUND MY CLIENT!
I was connected with HCEC through my warranty company. They said a technician would be over between 2 and 4 and would call 30 minutes prior to getting here. I received the call at 4:10 which wasn’t a huge deal. The tech was very professional and able to fix the issue I had contacted my warranty company about and also helped switch out my thermostat. I see some bad reviews, but that was definitely not my experience with them.
Another update: over 6 months later and these people are still haunting me. Mr. Chatman did not pay my home warranty the 100 dollars that I paid him for the deductible. Leaving me to pay twice for the same job that he DIDNT DO. He is currently in lawsuits with multiple homeowners. Mr. Chatman, I know you are reading this. You are a crook and there is a special place for people like you.
After looking through the reviews, it is clear that I have the same problem that others have. I called my home warranty on Monday to repair my air condition. The same day, HCEC called me to tell me they were coming Wednesday. I took off work and waited all day for him to show up at 430, after my promised window. I had to call them to find out when they would be coming as they did not call me to tell me they would be late. The tech came out and told me I needed a whole new unit and that the home warranty would have that paperwork by the following day at 3. That was Thursday. It is now Saturday and he STILL hasn't submitted the paperwork...72 hours later. My home warranty has called to request it three times and I have also left a message. It has now been a week with no ac. And all we need is a piece of paper that states it needs replaced and what size and type....
Edited to add: 8 days after the initial claim to them and 6 days after they came out, the paperwork was submitted but not complete. They never wrote down some model numbers. The home warranty assured me that they would call me that afternoon to schedule the tech to come back out to get the model numbers. They never did. I called them the following day and the lady had no idea apparently and couldn't get a hold of the contractor. Again, several phone calls from the home warranty and me, finally the tech comes out again.
I chose the cash out option and took a large hit out of pocket and got an entire new heating and cooling system. Needless to say, HCEC lost an 8 grand job because of the hassle and lack of ability for simple paperwork. It went to Simmons Heating and Cooling and their work and customer service was just the opposite of these people.
I was very happy with dealings with HCEC. I called to get my AC repaired and the office staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. They where able to quickly get me an appointment, that worked with my schedule. The Technician who came out was professional and prompt and called before he arrived to make sure I was there. After performing the diagnosis, the tech explained to me what the issue was, and then promptly ordered the parts. Three days later the technician was back and replaced the burnt out part, and My AC was working fine. I would recommend HCEC for all your AC and plumbing needs. I will use them for any future needs I have.
HCEC Group was the contractor for my warranty company. They came out to repair my air conditioner on August 17. I'm not sure what was wrong the first time, but the technician caught the unit on fire while splicing together electrical wires (obviously not a recommended procedure) and the system has never been the same since. It still is not working and I have been waiting for over a month. They blame it on the warranty company and the warranty company blames it on them. Even after they put in this new part, I'm not sure it will work then either and I will have gone the most of the summer without air conditioning. They tell me it's my responsibility to follow-up and make sure that the job is done and not theirs. It's all about the money for them, not about customer service. And they have taken no responsibility for their damage to my system. I would not recommend this group if you actually want a repair made professionally and in a timely manner.
I reached out to HCEC GROUP due to my heat not working properly. My neighbor referred to this company stating they had a professional named Mike to come out and diagnose their system. Once I gave them a call the staff in the office was extremely rude and unprofessional! I explained to them my issue with my heating system and my neighbor had used them months ago and requested for their tech named Mike to come out. After being on hold for a unreasonable amount of time Tabitha finally came back on the phone and told me a tech will be out the following business day between 12 & 5. I took off work for them just to show up late. A tech did not reach my home until 7pm. I did not get a courtesy call from the tech saying he was on his way. Once the tech arrived I realized it was not Mike . I feel like Tabitha should have told me another tech would be coming to my home since I did request for mike to come out. The tech came into my home not wearing shoe covers, smelling like cigarette smoke and not clean cut. He was there for about 10 minutes & I could hear his conversation with his boss. He didn't seem very knowledge about this trade. He came back into my home & told me he had to order a part for my heating system. He then told me he would give me a call the next day with the pricing and his availability. He never contact me back. Needless to say i would not recommend this company to anyone. I feel this company needs training in the office and out in the field.
This company was set up with our home warranty company to come out and inspect our furnace. They arrived Wednesday, two days after the referral, and spent some time looking at our furnace. We were told we had a crack in the heat exchanger and would contact the warranty company regarding a replacement of the unit. Two days later the company still has not contacted our home warranty company, even though they shut off our furnace. It has been around 30 degrees in Virginia this last week, and we have one week old baby. This company clearly has no interest in actually resolving our problem or caring that we have a newborn baby.
Horrible horrible company that does not honor their warranty!!! My roommate spent $8,600 on a new HVAC system that was installed 18 April 2018 by HCEC. Weather has started to warm so I turned on AC system but outside unit did not turn on. This was on 12 April 2019. After no one answered the phone for 4 days we contacted Simmons Heating and Air and had someone there the following day. While Simmons repair guy was there, HCEC finally called us back after 5 days total. Simmons repairman stated that it was a bad install and that all of the freon leaked out as a result of poor soldering of the copper pipes. HCEC said that repair man would be at our house the following day between 0800 and 1200 but he didn't show until 8 p.m. without a phone call! Repair man said that cost would be $450 to refill the system and repair the leak. I expressed my disagreement that my roommate was going to be charged for labor and parts since it was their poor work that caused the issue. He stated that he would talk to his service manager and would return on that Saturday (which was 2 days away) to complete the job. I called on Friday to ensure that we were on the schedule and they confirmed the repairman would arrive between 8-12 and to call by 10 if the repairman hadn't shown up. I called at 1030 that Saturday morning and HCEC stated we were still on the schedule but would be later than my appointment. Repairman never showed! I've contacted Simmons today and a repairman will arrive this afternoon to fix HCEC's mess-up. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY (HCEC)!! THEY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!!!!!!
My furnace stopped working on a Friday and I was about to face a cold weekend and resorted to setting up space heaters everywhere. I wasn't sure if I would get a call back being that I called late on Friday (about 5:00 pm) but at 8:00 pm that night I was pleasantly surprised and not only received a call but Mike Robeson came out and was able to get my furnace running. My furnace was very old and starting to really show its age this past winter and would barely keep up with warming the house. It was time to replace it. I decided to have HCEC replace the entire HVAC system. I was called by a staff member who was very polite and professional that the installers Nate and Mark would be out to replace my unit and they arrived promptly as promised and had the new Lennox heating and air conditioning units installed that day. The installers were fantastic. They left the area clean and made sure I knew how to operate the system before they left.. I cannot say enough good things about Mike Robeson and his company as well as the installers and staff. I have and will continue to recommend him to family, friends, and co-workers.
Unprofessional, bad quality, the technician did not fix properly my water heater and I my water repair needs repair again. The same problem came again in less than 30 days. I wasted my money and when I made an appointment in advance for December 5, 2019. The appointment time frame was from 9am-1pm. They never came to my house to repair my water heater. I wait all morning and the entire whole day to later on received a email at 4pm sorry we still working on another repair. They dont respect clients time, unprofessional, dont have education and all and not experience. I don’t recommended for any type of job. Bad experience.
