    Jemal Lett & his assistant for Tuesday April 5th 2022 did an outstanding servicing of our AC/heating system. We have been in our new home just almost a year to the day. We've been having issues with not enough air getting to our master bedroom with the heater or the AC making it very tough to sleep. This team of two came in and determined that our air duct going to the master bedroom had to many runners going to different parts of the house and they needed to either shut some off (small closets) that we were of with, or shrink the air passage with flaps in the duct so more air would get pushed into the the master bedroom. Mission accomplished, system works great now. Thanks guys!!!!!

    The technician was wonderful. He was courteous and helpful, he was also really careful about safety in relation to the pandemic, this was a big thing for us as we're a high risk household. I definitely plan on continuing to use them and was really happy with the service!

    We have always been satisfied with our service from Houk, but this visit was extra special! The technician was very polite and thorough. He checked out a short in the system and it took a while but he worked patiently. You can tell he was raised right because of all the "yes, Ma'am and yes, Sir". You have a good man in this employee!

    Houk installed our AC 3 years ago. There was a 2 year warranty. On year three the AC unit required costly repairs, because it wasn’t installed properly. We called their emergency line, but they had no urgency to help us. We were without AC for 9 days in September 2021. Our home was 90 degrees!!! They charged us a lot of money to repair, and wanted payment up front before we even knew the house was cooling down. We asked them to send us an invoice and instead they called the police and refused to leave our property until they had our credit card information. Also they give “flat rates” and won’t tell you why they charge a certain amount. They charged us $1500 for 2 hours of work. This company lacks empathy, doesn’t stand behind their work, and is unreasonable regarding billing. We are planning to purchase a maintenance plan from an HVAC company we can trust—we will never call Houk again.

    I will add my response to the Houk owners response here.Mr owner were you at our house in person to actually see how it went down? Ohhhhh! You were not. Let me clarify to you Mr owner of this so called ac business: 1. They did not complete everything we agreed upon. 2. No one slammed a door in anyone’s face! Actually, we expected them to come inside to check the vents, thermostat, etc. THEY REFUSED!!!! saying they were not good at that. That was a “technicians” job and they were just “installers”. I guess we were just supposed to “trust” them when they told us it was fixed. After living in a 90 degree house for 9 days, I was hoping for some certainty that it was going to get cooler soon. 3. When the police came, we couldn’t see due to a delay on our doorbell camera. We thought it was the installers banging out door down, and were NOT planning to open it due to the nature of the banging. It wasn’t until I peeked out of the front window that I saw they’d called the police, which is when we came out. They were going to take our AC apart again? Are you kidding??? Just because we wanted to wait and pay after the house was cool and we were sure the job was done right? Again...zero empathy, zero customer care. 4. Lastly, If you expect people to pay large sums of money on the spot the least you can do is tell them ahead of time. Don’t just demand it and call the police or take someone’s AC apart if they ask for an invoice!

    Houk installed the original equipment in my home when it was built and have continued to service my systems for the past eleven years. They are always prompt, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. They do outstanding work and thoroughly explain what work is necessary and what has been accomplished. I give them high marks for recommendation.

    Called Houk to replace a faulty capacitor on my unit. I told them on the phone what the issue was. They charged $95 to show up, and $238 for the part. It costs less than $30 bucks at hardware store. I called and requested a price adjustment as I feel I have been price gouged. They said they charge a flat rate for this and would not adjust. I called back and spoke to someone else and asked what the flat rate was for a capacitor and was told they don't give flat rates out. So I was lied to and price gouged. Furthermore, I was never quoted the flat rate prior to the work being done. I have used this company for significant HVAC upgrades in the past, but have lost faith in them based on this unfortunate set of circumstances.

    My experience with Houck Air Conditioning was outstanding. From making the appointment to having the appointment to the outcome, everything was done professionally and thoroughly. Thank goodness for technician Michael Fife given that we're heading into July in Texas. He knew just what to do to get my system going again and gave me some tips to better maintain it throughout the summer.

    We purchased a new unit from Houk last year and signed up for a twice yearly check up for all 3 of our units. Tomas came out today and completed a thorough inspection of the units and replaced the filters. He explained what he was going to do before doing it and asked if I had any questions. He completed his work in a timely manner and was very knowledgeable and professional.

    We highly recommend Houk, they benefit from experienced, honest technicians like Tomas.
