    I called Houk to set up a maintenance appointment and they were courteous and answered all my questions. In addition to coming during the window of time we agreed upon- they sent me a text to let me know the technician was on his way. I also received a phone call to verify that I was available. Very thorough. The technician was a wealth of knowledge about cooling and heating and took the time to give me several maintenance tips and explain what he was doing. Wonderful company!

    They were very professional, courteous, and took time to listen to our issues. We truly appreciated the time they took to explain the system to us and how to use the different functions on our thermostat as well as preventive maintenance we could do to improve the lifespan of our system. We did not feel rushed or pressured and were able to ask the questions we had. It is so rare to find a company that is willing to take time to educate their customers and thoroughly explain things.     I can’t recommend going with Houk air conditioning if you have ac troubles folks. Our system is under factory warranty and we expected to pay for labor only. Tech was here for less than 2 hours and charged $500.00. When I asked for an explanation of labor rates I never got a straight answer. I was told the company has “flat rate” pricing and labor per hour doesn’t show up on their invoices. I got the impression that even though the work was warranted the cost of labor got inflated to make up for it. I don’t blame the technician, who was polite and thorough. But I have a problem not getting a straight answer as to how I was charged.

    My hvac system went out and my home
    Warranty company didn’t want to replace my 2 hvac systems in my 6 month old home. Peggy went out of her way to communicate between my home builder and myself for 5 days straight until their was a resolution and both my units were replaced. She gave me the impression that she really cared by listening instead of just talking at me. This was our first Christmas in our home and if it wasn’t for her patience and dedication it would have been ruined. If you ever use Houk air I’d suggest you ask for her only!

    I completely loved my experience with Houk! Juanita was super fast in responding and efficient when setting up my appointment. My technician was Michael and he was absolutely incredible!! He was so knowledgeable and had my problem figured out in a snap! He was very nice and courteous and explained everything to the detail. I am so glad I called and will definitely be referring them in the future!

    We have used Houk Heating and Air for nearly 18 years and purchased the maintenance contract most of that time Don't believe the ad about peace of mind with having inspections done twice a year. We purchased the last contract in June, $169, to have the AC checked out before Summer. They said even though the unit was old all looked good on it. 2 months later when it stopped working in August when it was over 100 degrees we were told the compressor had rusted through and we needed a new compressor or complete system and the technician would have a salesman call us in the morning, Saturday, to talk about having a new system put in on Monday. By the time the salesman finally called Monday evening I had found another company to help me select a new system and install it. I felt as if Houk had let us down when we needed them. After calling the office and asking to have part of the maintenance contract price reimbursed, and then following up because I had not heard back I was told the supervisor, Billy, wasn't going to refund it. Obviously customer service is not something Houk offers.

    Had two techs come out. Michael was first and diagnosed initial problem. Next day Donovan came to repair problem. Both were very professional, knowledgeable and extreme gentlemen. The “Houk” experience was the most pleasing and satisfying of any interaction with a heating/AC company in our lives. From the first phone contact with the service number to the final repair, this company is a perfect example of the way a customer service orientated businesses should be run.

    My wife called regarding an air conditioning issue at 8 am. Chris arrived at 9 am. Very professional and knowledgeable. Fixed the issue (zone controller issue), explained in detail what was done, and answered all of her questions. Was very polite and took precautions to ensure safety measures were in place during these times. It has been a long time since we had a technician at our house that put her at such ease. Thanks so much Chris! You are awesome!
