    Armando thoroughly evaluated all components of our A/C system, was very professional, and explained what he was doing any why. He also answered all of my questions. I enthusiastically recommend Hauc Air Conditioning!

    My AC had been making odd sounds and rattling a little, rather than risk a bigger problem I called Houk out to do a precautionary check. They were fantastic. They took a look, checked everything out, and did make one little adjustment and the noises went away.
    I have used them in the past to install the system and run routine maintenance since the system was installed a few years ago and I have never been disappointed with the service, the techs, or their over all professionalism and courtesy.
    If you are looking to have a system installed or even your current system maintained, they are a great resource to have available.

    Houck has been our go to for HVAC, A/C & Heating installation, maintenance and repairs. Today, service technician Salim Alqaraiti was here due to the AC going out after a power surge last night. Salim was thorough, very knowledgeable & informative. Our AC is working great now. I strongly recommend Houck Air Conditioning to everyone in the DFW Metroplex.

    My AC unit went out 2 months after I moved into my new home. This was during peak Texas summer. Houk sent over a tech who identified the issue as a burnt motor. They ordered a replacement over the weekend which was delivered in 3 days and installed immediately. Very professional from customer service to parts to installation.

    We have the Houk maintenance program where they come out twice a year. We had our summer maintenance scheduled for May 6 but due to the heavy rains they rescheduled us to June 24. At the time I was very frustrated and commented that it didn't make sense pushing our summer preventative maintenance so far back. The whole point of the service is to tune the system up BEFORE the summer starts. Unfortunately on June 7th, in 98 degree weather, our unit started making funny noises and stopped working throughout the night. We will always wonder if this could have been caught if they could have made their original May 6 target date.

    We called the next morning and sat on hold for half an hour, got picked up, then back on hold and into the queue for another 10 minutes. When they finally answered I was told we could have a repairman out sometime after 1pm that day and we would get a call a half hour before he came out. I asked if we could get a call an hour prior to give us time to get home, but I was told this would cost extra. So we made sure to be home shortly after 1pm. At 4:30pm a tech finally showed up with no warning call. 15 minutes later he determined our compressor had stopped working and they would need to order the parts and we might see them that week. We were charged $89 for a diagnostic call.

    The next day we called around looking for a new compressor to get a feel for pricing (the tech had written the specs on the invoice). We found the model we needed at Grainger for $100, available to pick up that day. We called Houk throughout the afternoon to get an update on the part and they still hadn't order the part by 4pm. The fact that temperatures are in the mid-to-high 90s and they hadn't had enough concern to order our part is unbelievable, and... inhumane. They did give us a quote on the parts though, the compressor would be $580 and the fan (which did not need replacing) would be $300. We asked if they could come anywhere near the $100 price we received from Grainger, but they said no. So before the repairman even comes out we're sitting at $880. I'm assuming they have a minimum charge for the repairman's time, so we're looking at somewhere near $1000 for what we can get for $100 and do the work ourselves. The compressor requires 4 bolts and connecting 3 wires - not rocket science. We will look after this repair ourselves and not give Houk unnecessary money and we will not abide by their lazy schedule of whenever they decide to place our order and send a repairman back out while the temperatures are soaring.

    Sadly we are stuck in a 2 year maintenance contract with them. We would love to just walk from the agreement, but we don't want to line their pockets with our hard earned money. Their customer service, their scheduling and their lack of compassion are horrible.

    came out to service my ac unit today. The technician was Chris B. Chris was on time and let me know when he would arrive at my home. He wore a mask to keep us both safe, and I really appreciate that from him. When he arrived it was raining, and he worked in the rain with no complaints. Chris troubleshot the system found the issue quickly, and informed me of the fix. Every time these guys come out they are fast, and professional. I would recommend this company to anyone's needing Heating, and a/c work. If you had 10 more guys like Chris it wouldn't be enough.

    My problem was that it kept getting hotter in my home and the AC just kept running, and it was not cooling down. I called Houlk, spoke with Alyshia, she was very understanding and helped me so much. I was very nervous something big was wrong. She made a call, and sent Chris over. Very knowledgeable, and very nice. I can’t remember the part, but he replaced it and I am sitting in a very comfortable cool home now. So thank you both to Alyshia, and Chris. Thank you for going beyond. Houlk has two very good employees , again thank you!!!!

    Roger Morton gave our heating system a thorough checkup today. He was skillful, knowledgeable and careful, and gave our system a clean bill of health. He took the time to explain everything he did, which was very helpful to me. We've been with Houk for 15 years now, and all their techs have been excellent, but Roger is exceptional! Houk evidently has a fine training program and selects the very best technicians. Thanks, Houk, and thanks, Roger!
