    Houk employee Ryan Gessler damaged my property and Houk will not fix the mess he created. I have an annual service agreement to check and clean HVAC units. The first service man came out and was not able to physically clean out AC drains. So we had to arrange for second appointment and a different employee to finish the regular maintenance job. Ryan cleaned out the AC drain in the attic and I heard him upstairs in my master bathroom. He flushed the toilet and ran water. He knew there was an issue but did not say anything. After he left, I went into master bathroom and there was debris from the AC drain clean out all over my floor and underneath the sink. The pipe under the cabinet was leaking water and I had to get a bucket. I called Houk, they refused to come back out and clean up the mess or fix the damage. I was told me to call someone else.

    They were able to come out quickly from the time I called to make an appointment. The service Tech Jose was very nice and quickly determined the problem and fixed my a/c unit. The bill was reasonable and they didn't try to upsell me any unnecessary service or products. Would highly recommend the company and the service technician.

    I had 2 different locations come out to my house to check why I was getting mold in 2 closet ceilings.
    1st one said that it was condensation from the hot attic and the cool house. No mold beyond ceiling or in attack. Basically just on the ceiling drywall. They stabbed about 70 little holes all over ceiling and walls trying to see if there was moisture in the walls.
    Then they said they’re remove the ceiling and clean out all the mold ( which apparently isn’t actually there) put new dry way back up for $7,000.
    I then called the other location to see what there thoughts were. I inquired about putting vents in these closets to give them air circulation. They came out to give me an estimate, I paid around $80 and they were going to email it to me.
    I never heard from them again!!
    I used because a neighbor who had the same mold issues, used them. I believe also because our builder uses this company. There are so many 5 star places on google. Our builder goes cheapest route on everything. Even for homes starting $1 million +
    They go cheap!
    I would NOT RECOMMEND!!!
    Do yourself a favor and looks elsewhere.

    My first experience with Houk was a few years ago. I had some AC trouble where the unit wasn't cooling below 85 degrees. 3 other AC companies had already been out and said the unit was fine, just old and needed replacement.

    Calling Houk was a long shot, but I thought it was worth one more try since the other guys didn't seem to be very thorough. Houk came out the next day to take a look. The technician was in my attic for a grand total of 5 min when he came down and told me the unit was fixed. I was a little skeptical for sure, but sure enough cold air began to flow and the house began to cool right away.

    Turns out that some insulation inside the unit had come loose and had fallen over the main vent which restricted the airflow. It took someone spending an extra few minutes to be thorough and that saved me thousands of dollars for an unnecessary replacement!

    My 2nd experience was just today. I had a blower motor go out on me. I called Houk at 9:30a and they were at my house by 11:30a. Not only that, but they are going to be back out today to install the new motor! Great service! Would recommend them again.

    I cannot see enough good things about Houk. Scott Fowler and Billy Johnson have gone above and beyond more than I ever expected. Our home is old and the system is over 30 years old. They sent a tech out on Sunday to assist and get us through. While the system did fail again (no parts available) they sent another specialist out to discuss our options and complete a comprehensive and thorough review of our entire system. Due to its age all of it needs to be replaced. They gave us all the information of what was needed, with a great deal, along with 0% financing for 5 years. To top it off, next day install is schedule to begin and complete same day. Houk has saved my family an animals from any further suffering. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

    On one of the coldest day of the year, and following a bad ice and snow storm, my new (2019) fancy and extremely sensitive furnace shut off. I called Houk and Peggy Hall did an amazing job in helping me get my heat back on!!! She was very professional, she was extremely patience, she showed concern and consideration, she was very responsive, and she worked diligently to help solve the problem. I would like to thank Peggy Hall - again - for her exceptional customer service when I truly needed help!

    Houk technician Ryan Gessler came out to replace the blower fan for my HVAC system. He was able to more specifically diagnose the problem as being with the control board, which avoided having to replace the entire blower unit and saved me about $1000. This kind of service and honesty will make me stick with Houk for my future HVAC service, and my other experiences with Houk have been consistent with Ryan’s great service.

    I’ve used Houk since the 1990’s. My recent service was satisfactory but very expensive and the technician was on his phone (caught on my cameras and twice in person) more time than he was working. He spent 15 minutes doing the work, sat in front of my house for 20 minutes before knocking on the door, was leaning over the unit looking at his phone for 10 minutes before I went to ask him how long it would be, gave me some story about having to let the charge from the capacitor drain out (which he discharged with a screw driver as I was questioning him) then sat out in front of the house for another 20 minutes before I went out to ask for the bill which he produced while I was waiting, so he certainly wasn’t doing the paperwork for the 20 minutes he had been sitting there. No wonder the charges are high.

    I doubt I will use them again. They used to be so awesome.
