Their great service began and ended with Peggy. She was incredible over the phone !!!! She definitely helped with our decision as to who got our business as did Michael who came out for service. He was fantastic & super efficient !!! Then Keith with sales came out right away with an install the next day with Juan and his fellow installer. All of these guys were great and so helpful to get us heat in a very cold time without heat. Thank you all !!!
Houk Air Conditioning went above and beyond on a hot Sunday afternoon to fix my AC unit. Peggy took a deep dive into information on my unit to help me know what size filter I needed and Manuel was fabulous. He figured out quickly that it was a faulty thermostat, had one with him, replaced it, changed my filter and got Apache and I back in cool comfort. It was amazing and far above my expectations. Thanks Houk's- you were a life-saver.

Our downstairs unit stopped working. I called another company and they said they had too many calls. That’s when I decided to call Houk they installed the units in our new build a couple years back. Haven’t had any issues until recently. Brandon M. was timely and finished the job quickly and professionally. I really liked Houk’s service from the first phone call. I don’t remember the ladies name but she was very knowledgeable and professional. Will definitely use them again in the future.
When one experiences air conditioning problems in the Texas heat, it is usually the service tech that gets you back up and running that gets the praise. I do praise the professionalism and proficiency of the techs that repaired our unit but, my highest praise and appreciation goes to Peggy Hall. Peggy was amazing. She was that calm, patient voice on the other end of the phone that kept me appraised of the progress of finding the needed part to fix our unit and getting a technician scheduled to put it in. Initially the part was going to take a month to get. Fortunately, Peggy and the team at Houk found one and got our unit fixed in a week and a half. With the threat of 100 degree temperatures in the forecast, I was more than anxious about getting our unit fixed. Peggy always took my calls, was extremely professional and never made me feel like I was bothering her. She is, by far, one of the best customer service individuals I have ever dealt with. Thank You Peggy and Houk!
I have Honeywell system installed by houk at my 3 year old house. It is a one unit with zoning for two storage house. Every year I have to call Houk to repair my AC unit as the damper keeps going bad. This year, the technician came and assumed that the unit outside went bad without any diagnostic (he didn’t even went to attic where my system and damper is located) and said that the needs to do electrical leak search for additional $275 (on top of 95 system check - which never happened). With kids in the house, I told them to go ahead and get it done and he mentioned there is Coil that has gone bad and needs replacement. I asked how come it’s working on one floor but not the other, if the coil is bad but no legit reasoning was provided. They quoted about $1500 for labor charge since my parts are still under warranty. I got a different company to come take a look and it was just a bad damper which resolved the issue.
I have been charged three times the regular cost for the issue that is not there and was about to be ripped another $1500 for no reason.
My neighbors did try to warn me about the bad practice but I thought they have fixed my issue twice in last two years but this year they just tried to rip me off. It was one of the worst experience and I feel like I got scammed.
When they sent the invoice, I asked them for detail diagnostic but they said they don’t send anything out on paper but on my previous invoices, the tech would write down all the details and troubleshooting performed. This time they tried to deny but after asking for explanation they sent a generic troubleshooting performed.
So, beware of this company and do more research and seek out other options.
Also, I like how they ignore all the one star reviews without acknowledgement but replies to give stars!

I noticed that you have replied on my post. I couldn’t find to reply so I’m editing this post. I don’t know what you can do now since it’s been fixed by someone changing dats (less than 10%) cost compared to $1500 replacement that your technician recommended.
Anyways, no going to use houk again. Sure, there are many happy customers as no single case is same but I still feel like I was getting scammed!
Today a gentleman called Samuel came out to do some maintenance on our new air conditioning unit - what a kind and polite young man Samuel was towards me in explaining what I needed to do in the future to maintain our unit. Nothing was enough that he did from taking my hose and showing me how to hose down the exterior screen on my unit and why. He explained what type of filter I needed and how frequently I needed to change it! It’s easy to complain about people who who give bad service, but I want to sing from the rooftops about this young man and his attitude in the scorching 🥵 heat of a Texas summer today! I recently had the unfortunate experience of hiring HOUK AC to service my air conditioning system, and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I cannot emphasize enough how disappointed and frustrated I am with the level of service provided by this company.
To begin with, the technician who arrived at my house was not only unprofessional but also extremely rude. His lack of respect and dismissive attitude towards my concerns left me feeling completely disrespected as a customer. It is unacceptable to treat paying customers in such a manner.
Adding insult to injury, I was charged for the technician's visit, only to be told that I needed to pay an additional fee for them to test for a potential leak. It is beyond comprehension that a company would charge for a service call and then have the audacity to request additional payment for a basic diagnostic test. This is a clear example of deceptive practices and an attempt to squeeze more money out of unsuspecting customers. Furthermore, I deeply regret ever purchasing an air conditioning system from HOUK AC. If I had known about the poor quality of their services and the disrespectful behavior of their technicians, I would have chosen a different company altogether. I made a grave mistake by trusting them in the first place, and I urge others to learn from my experience and avoid making the same error.
In conclusion, my encounter with HOUK AC was a complete disaster. The technician's rudeness, the deceptive billing practices, and my regrettable decision to purchase their system have made it abundantly clear that this is the worst AC company I have ever dealt with. I strongly advise against using their services unless you enjoy being treated poorly and throwing your money away.
I sincerely hope that this review serves as a warning to potential customers.
