The Heating Specialist

We wanted to compliment the helpful, responsive, and courteous service we received from Neil. During a time of bad weather with great demands being placed on a number of similar kinds of specialized service providers, he came to our house on the same day we called the Heating Specialist and helped us with our water-leaking problem. Although the services the Heating Specialist provide turned out to be different than what we ultimately needed, Neil nonetheless stayed and implemented a short-term solution and gave us very helpful and insightful advice for moving forward. He could have said that he and his company could not help us, but he stayed and assisted us during our time of need. We were and still are impressed.

We renovated down to the studs and put in all new mechanical systems; whole house radiant (hydronic) floors and mini-splits. I found many contractors happy to do one or the other but only The Heating Specialists were willing to take on the whole job. And they were great from start to finish. Thomas kept me fully up to speed and was always available to me when changes in timing or design became necessary. Every person that he deployed at the site were knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient.

They provided wonderful customer service. Matty was great in setting up the service call for us. She listened to what we needed and adapted the services to take care of us. Kevin arrived today to provide the service and it couldn't have been better--he explained everything, helped me to understand what he was doing and what I could do to get the most out of our HVAC systems (furnace/ac and ductless mini-split).

This company has gone downhill since David Brent left. They are arrogant, and disrespectful.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this company. One of my staff met technician Kevin while he was in having breakfast with his family. I gave him a call the following week to help with an issue at the restaurant and he was out the same day. He fixed the issue, as well as a shoddy A/C install that was leaking. We've had Otto out since then as well, and I've had quite a bit of contact with the girls at the office. Everyone is friendly, responsive, professional, and their prices are fair. Highly recommended!

The Heating Specialist team arrived on time and took care of my a/c unit and furnace on a 95-degree day. They texted me the night before & called me first thing the next morning to assess the situation and recommend what I needed. Great communication. Friendly. Honest. Fair price. I definitely recommend them.

I rarely do this, but every once in a while I run into an exceptional company that deserves the recognition. Our heater went out this week and my father recommended you when my normal guy was tied up becoming a grandfather. From the initial phone call with Matty to schedule the appointment, to the technician's (Rourke) exceptional work explaining what was going on...patiently giving me the data needed to make a sound repair vs. replace decision for my unique situation...to your call to ensure I was making the right decision to repair a 22-year-old furnace, I was met with respect, courtesy and sound advice. No pushy selling...just good old fashioned pride in the work done.

Our AC stopped working after three consecutive 100 plus days. I called the HVAC company that installed the unit for help first, and they were booked 3 weeks out. I then started frantically calling HVAC companies and the earliest help was two weeks out during the worst heat wave ever in Portland! I then got ahold of the receptionist at The Heating Specialist. They were slammed as everyone else but she put me on a list for cancellations and to my surprise I got a call from her early in the afternoon same day as I called. The HVAC repairman called me on the way over and was punctual and professional. He diagnosed the problem and fixed my AC within 30 minutes! This was an amazing experience and I will call The Heat Specialist for all my HVAC needs moving forward!

Very nice people. I’m a new homeowner and have a lot of questions. They were patient with me and explained exactly why certain parts needed replacing. They called me the day before the appointment to confirm arrival, which I appreciated. Happy to be working with this company.

We recently scheduled another periodic service check of our furnace. This business is always a pleasure to deal with from the courteous and efficient scheduling to the same experience with the service call. The tech also suggested a Preventive Maintenance Service plan that saved us money. We are happy to be repeat customers.
