    Lee Air upgraded my HVAC system in Durham a couple of years ago. What I didn't realize or they didn't mention, or install a valve on my water heater. The result is either scalding water going to my faucets in the house or a heater that runs constantly and inefficiently. I only discovered my system was running continuously after I upgraded to a smart thermostat and it was giving me errors/warning messages.

    When I called for an explanation of the problem I was told they would "make it right." I have since left AT LEAST four messages with Kevin who's one of the managers. When I've spoken with the receptionist I'm told in a very annoyed tone that "there's no one else to speak with... and would I like to be directed to his voicemail."

    This is only my experience, but it's extremely disappointing to have a company like Lee Air disappear on me and refuse to fix or even acknowledge/apologize for the mistake. They're office people are quick to point out how long they've been in business, so I would have hoped for better customer service. I would highly encourage someone to use a company that doesn't leave you hanging when you need them most.

    ****** Since originally writing this I received a follow up phone call, a few apology emails, and most importantly reimbursement for the plumber I had to hire. The original experience was frustrating but they made it right and I give them credit for that. Every company, especially ones that have been around for a long time have a few stumbles.

    I love this company. I bought a really old house and my inspector did a lousy job reporting on the condition of the HVAC systems. Once I discovered the problems with the three different units, I called Mr. Lee and he sent a crew over the next day. They made the units workable and then presented a plan to replace them one by one in a way that did not break my bank. He understood my situation with an eighth month pregnant wife and worked out a payment plan. To this day, whenever there is any issue, his service team comes within 24 hours and resolves the problem. His crews are so great. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

    Zach, the PM tech, was superior. Performed beyond our expectations. Gary, service tech, followed up three days later and was beyond exceptional with knowledge, personality, expertise. Explained our HVAC problems clearly. two exceptional Lee service personal in a row. Wow!!

    A few weeks ago my heat didn't work. A guy named Gary came to the house. He got it working for me but said I need a new system since mine is 22 years old. I did not want to spend all that money for a new system so I sent him away and called several other places. Turns out Lee was the best price so I will have them put a new system in soon.

    Brad, our technician from Lee Air Conditioning, took the time to specifically diagnose the issue that we were having. It was sporadic but he figured it out before it became a more serious and costly problem. In addition they are alway professional and courteous when handling calls over the phones. Highly recommended.

    Lee installed new ductwork and plenums on our house in June. It was pricey, but in line with what others quoted—plus, they did it in the summer when most companies wouldn’t. But my five stars is for what happened after. Our upstairs bonus room wasn’t getting any air because we were using it as storage and had all of the cooling distributed to the rooms we did use. But then we turned that room into an office and realized we had no idea how to change the plenums. I called Lee’s, and Kelly came out literally in an hour. He showed my husband how to change the dampers and gave him tips, and didn’t charge for a service call. They really stood by their work, and we will call them in the future when we need a new AC.

    Disappointed to say the least. One of my ac units was not cooling. I called and a technician came over. He did tell me what was going on but I remained inside the house when he returned and told me that he was done and the total was $899. I was surprised since I did not expect that much and since I WAS NOT TOLD UPFRONT HOW MUCH it would cost. Anyway, I wrote him a check and he asked for my email in order to send my receipt by email.
    That receipt was never sent.
    My unit broke again two weeks later.
    I called service again, explained the situation and got a very blaze “Sorry, nothing we can do”.
    I left a voicemail for the manager and guess what?!? Never received a call back.
    Called again.... Nothing.
    Disrespectful, disappointing, shameful.

    We noticed that our lights dimmed when the AC kicked in. Ronald came out and diagnosed the issue and was able to fix before it caused bigger problems -- much appreciated in the near 100 degree heat! And because of the preventative maintenance contract, we got a discount on the parts.
