Yost & Campbell provided competitive proposals on two system replacements: air conditioning and a gas-fired steam boiler. Our salesman is very knowledgable about the products and with the help of an expert colleague gave us important information during the quotation for the boiler, that our ‘head’ piping - the pipes that connect the boiler to the radiator system was incorrect and potentially unsafe. He explained why copper pipe and solder welds could give way and lead to a dangerous escape or explosion of steam. The installed boiler is a case study of how to construct a steam boiler; the piping schematic closely follows applicable codes. In both instances I did spend a bit of time at the outset to ensure that the jobs were adequately supervised (supervisor not on site).

Y & C installed an HVAC system with split unit inverters. So far I am not impressed with the craftsmanship. Overall the installation looks unprofessional, incomplete, and unpleasant. Most downspouts are dented. It appears that the workers opened the aluminum downspouts to run the hoses and cables. It makes it impossible to keep the shape of the. Some clamps are twisted, and others are missing on a vertical drip hose. Some large holes for bolts are not drilled straight into the bricks behind the condenser. PVC pipe was not turned to hide the printed numbers. There is insufficient cleanup of the condenser, roof, window frames, and conduits, lines. All remain covered in red dust. Nothing on the outside was taped off: The White caulking is now red and can not be cleaned.
Note: A broom does not pick up brick dust from concrete. A vacuum works fine but they only used theirs inside and not outdoors. Some glass windows are coated with WD-40 spray and runoff from cooling the drills goes thru the lintels. One inverter is making noise upon the first startup. They pushed the unit by hand on the bracket, but the noise is from vibration and has already returned.
One problem is the inability to communicate with the install team.
Instead of drilling from both sides thru the wall and starting with small holes and then larger ones, they forced their way from the inside out. It causes more pieces of bricks to break.
Some larger holes show yellow contractor foam. No covers or flashing was installed around the hole.
All pipes and wires under the condenser unit are visible/uncovered.
The installers failed to comply with our instructions by stepping on the awning. It caused the door frame to shift. The door does not close anymore.
My suggestion: Send back the work crew immediately and escalate to management.
The brochures contain misleading pictures regarding the size of the inverter and condenser. Pictures indicate an elongated shape.

All issues are supposed to be addressed by a project manager next Tuesday to be completed to satisfaction.

    Update 06/14/23:
The items to be addressed were confirmed via email with the Project Coordinator ahead of the follow-up visit:
    1. Replace dented and twisted downspouts/wiring covers
    2. Extend the two condensation lines into the gutter
    3. Cover exposed contractor foam to prevent UV light degradation
    4. Replace the inverter in the 2nd-floor bedroom due to continued noise
    5. Replace brown downspouts/wiring covers (under-the-awning)

Today, the install team was not aware of items 3 and 4. The crew is only working on the outside. The inverter will not be replaced today. A second follow-up visit is required.

    Concerns:
The management did not relay information properly to the crew.
The company did not inform us about what tasks that will be done.
Addressing the spray foam in the holes of the brick walls: Their suggestion was to cut it flush. That was supposed to be done during the initial installation when I spoke with the supervisor. The concern remains, that the foam stays exposed to the UV light and will degrade. Another suggestion by the supervisor is that they will cover the foam with a cement-based compound that can be painted to match the bricks.

Had new combination furnace and tankless hot water system installed. Their crew was excellent and very professional. Junior Jimenez did a terrific and flawless job of installing the system. Would highly recommend them.

I am very happy with Y&C Company. They installed the Wall Mounted Air Conditioning System in my house. It was very important to me that the company provided and coordinated the work of two teams - both for the installation of the ductless condenser and the electric connectivity system. The technicians were very professional and did a great job.
Jose is very experienced and professional. He very promptly found a smart solution for an unexpected problem.
Brian is a fantastic electrician. He is a knowledgeable expert who can adapt to any situation and resolve any problem, and provided thorough answers to all of my questions.
I now happily have a new and extremely quiet system. My special thanks to everyone who helped complete the job. I highly recommend Yost & Campbell.

Great experience. They were on time, neat and professional.. I had an issue for years with one of the ducts and the other company kept telling me everything was fine. After he replaced my system I asked the guy to please check the ducts and he went back up in the attic and took the time to find the problem and fixed it. It finally working properly..I highly recommend Yost & Campbell.

Did an oil to gas conversion with this company 3 years ago and the install went well and had great customer service. Fast forward to last week and I noticed there are three leaks on the new piping they installed. One leak even ruining a valve below it because the dripping and corroded the valve below. Looks like from incorrect joint soldering. Spent over 20k in two years with them and their answer is it is out warranty. I owned a previous home for 20 years and had no piping leaks at all. On my end this should’ve been good willed for what we have spent. It seems like the new owners are short sited when it comes to customer service…..

The company notified me that it was time for maintenance. It's great not having to remember myself and scheduling was easy. The technicians arrived on time. They were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. They checked my ductless system, cleaned my filters and even changed the batteries in the remote. They even changed the filter for the furnace. I'm extremely pleased with Yost and Campbell and highly recommend them.

I had 3 systems installed by Yost and Campbell and I could not be happier ( one for each floor of my home). The salesman Omar Hernandez was very polite, knowledgeable, and designed a perfect hvac system for my home. He recommended a heat pump system and not only does it perform beyond my expectations, it also has saved me more than half on my utility bills monthly cost. My air conditioner is ice cold throughout the summer months! The crew that installed was also very respectful and cleaned up after themselves every single day that they were here.

I knew last year that I was going to have a problem with my AC. Sure enough I needed a new system. Y&C were quick and responsive. Juan explained in detail why I needed a new system; Steve helped me find the best value replacement system for my situation; and Ashley was great with coordinating the work start date and financing. I always purchase the service contract and it’s well worth it.

I have used Yost & Campbell for a long time and the professionalism of everyone I deal with always impresses me. From the people who answer the phone, to technicians (like Juan) and to people who give estimates on repairs and replacements (like Omar), everyone is informative and respectful.
