Once again, the Roadrunner team was amazing! I had three mini splits installed. On Day 1, they showed up in force, with Derrick and Sam making sure the crew had a clear understanding of the project. Julian, Manny, Joel, Maury and Isaac were with me for two days and they were wonderful. They were so meticulous with the installation and cleanup. They even asked if I had a mop, so they could make sure they cleaned every speck dust or dirt from my floors. What I also liked was observing how they worked so well as a team to problem solve and help each other out. Clearly, Derrick has them cross-trained in all elements involved in the installation process, which is great for the business and awesome for us customers. Thanks so much for another great Roadrunner experience!

Roadrunner did a great job installing a mini-split heating and air conditioning system in our home. They were prompt and professional, everyone was courteous and gracious. The systems work beautifully, and are very quiet. The guys who did the installation needed to be very clever about how to set it up, as our house is primarily built of river rock, so going through walls was tricky. They came up with an excellent innovative approach to get everything installed, minimizing external conduits and making them blend in so the new systems are barely noticeable. Thanks to Julian, Maury, Joel, Manny and Issac, who set us up, and to Terrence for guiding us so well through our options. Bette & James

I had a garage/studio built last year that is very well insulated. It gets too cold in winter and too hot in summer to be comfortable.

Friends of ours had Mitsubishi mini-splits installed by Roadrunner air conditioning and heating last year. Our friends were extremely complimentary of their Roadrunner experience, so I decided to call Roadrunner for an estimate in early May for a quote. I definitely wanted to beat the hot season rush on air conditioning.

I requested a quote for the studio/garage and thought I might as well get a quote for the house. Every room was measured to know the cubic feet that needed to be cooled/heated to engineer the most effective and efficient system. The price seemed fair. Terrence, the CEO of Roadrunner did the engineering and estimating. We liked what Terrence had to say about Roadrunner personnel and the fact that our friends had an excellent experience we decided to go with Roadrunner.

Two weeks later on our scheduled installation date, Terrence came with the installation crew to introduce the three young men that would be installing the system. After discussing the installation and location of all units Terrence left and the crew got to work.

The installation crew were three friendly and respectful young men. It was obvious that they were well trained technically and in customer service skills. Every day started with setting the expectations of where they were going to work and what they expected to accomplish. At the end of each day the crew cleaned up and briefed us about what was accomplished and when to expect them the following day. It can be uncomfortable to have people working in your home but not with this Roadrunner crew.

Installation ran the course of four days for the house and the studio combined. We really enjoyed having these three men work in our home. They were kind and friendly to us and our dogs. After the installation was complete, they trained us on the new system, cleaned up the work areas, and left us with expertly installed mini-split system in the house and studio.

We are completely impressed with Roadrunner air conditioning and heating. The staff was awesome to work with. We enjoyed all of the people we encountered. It’s really nice to work with a company that is so customer and employee focused.

This may sound crazy but we do miss the three young men who were here working in our home for four days.

We first worked with Derek and Roadrunner a couple years ago on a simple one-unit installation of a ductless mini-split in our master bedroom. Derek and the entire installation crew were knowledgeable, responsive and courteous. When we bought a new house six months ago, we knew we need mini-splits installed and called Derek again. Once again, he was professional and quick to get us scheduled. Harrison and his partner did an amazing job with the installation of two ductless units in our new house with incredible attention to detail. Six months later, Gus and Elmer stopped by for our included service/cleaning of the filters in the units. Gus went above and beyond to explain in detail some features of the units we hadn't yet explored.
We've recommend Roadrunner to many friends and wouldn't hesitate to work with them again for future ductless work.

If you're reading this you're probably wondering if you should hire Roadrunner. If you're considering them for mini-splits, I can save you some time and just say: Yes. You'll have a great experience from start to finish. If you want to know more, keep reading.

I recently hired Roadrunner to install mini splits that could serve as primary heating and cooling for the whole house. This ended up being a Mitsubishi system that included six indoor units, two outdoor units and required upgrading our electrical service as well. They handled all the details and I couldn't be happier with their work. From start to finish, they were responsive, approachable, and knowledgeable, making the entire process effortless.

The team at Roadrunner inspired confidence every step of the way. From the initial consultation to final walk through they were always on time, kept me updated on the progress of the installation, and worked diligently to ensure that everything was installed to perfection. Working with them it is clear they take pride in their work and are committed to delivering the best possible results.

One thing that stood out to me was their attention to detail and commitment to leaving the house clean and working around us during the installation. They took great care to protect the floors during the installation process, and when they were done, they left the house spotless. I really appreciated that extra effort and attention to detail.

In addition to their professionalism and expertise, I am thrilled with the performance of the mini splits. Terrance helped us put together a system that is exactly what we needed. They are quiet, efficient, and have made a significant difference in the comfort and energy efficiency of my home. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Roadrunner, and I would highly recommend them. If you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy company look no further

Tommy repaired all of our plumbing problems quickly and precisely.

We've used Roadrunner for maintenance on our boiler and mini-splits. They've repaired several things for us as well. All technicians and plumbers have been extremely professional, hard working, and very knowledgeable. They had us back up and running (better than before the issues) extremely quickly.

They've definitely earned our business and loyalty.

Gus did a great job of performing maintenance on our two mini-split condensors and four outlets as a part of the Roadrunner Comfort Club. He was thorough and pointed out some potential problems with my 8 year old unit. Everything is in good working order. Thanks Gus! I will definitely continue my membership in the Comfort Club.

Joel, Manny, Isaac, Tommy, Alcides, Julian, and Sam did great work replacing my gas furnace and old AC system with a heat pump and replacing my gas water boiler with an electric one. Sam was particularly helpful in making the thermostat was functioning correctly and could connect to the cloud. Terrence was very clear in communicating the scope of work and the cost in the initial quote, and following up after installation. Karesse and Dominique helped me find a good time for the work and clearly communicated when the team would be there. I will be sure to go to them for future heating and plumbing work.

Update: Contacted within an hour of writing this review by the company, they apologized for not following up with me as they said they would, offered to refund the cost of my initial visit.
....
Last year in 2022 my broiler was serviced by Eddie, excellent work (reason for 3 stars rather than 2 but he is no longer with the company), paid $160/hour for his expertise. This year in 2023 I scheduled a broiler maintenance service about 1 month in advance on Feb 28. The day before the appointment they changed the time from 10am to 12pm. The day of the appointment no one had shown up at my home by 4pm and I needed to leave at 5pm so I rescheduled for the following week. They never called during that day to update me that they were running late.

The day of service Mar 8 Tommy arrived, looked at the broiler from 2 feet away and told me that he would not be able to service the broiler, he could only remove air from the radiant floor heating lines. The only way he could service the broiler was if a pump and valve were installed below the header. He charged me a $99 "diagnostic analysis" fee to tell me that he could not service the broiler and flushed the lines of air, all of this took 40 minutes and I was charged an additional $250 (hourly rate, an increase of more than 50% from last year's rate) for his time. I called the office and asked if it could be explained to me why the broiler was able to be serviced in 2022, but could not be done now. I specifically asked to speak with a technician above Tommy's level, but all that was done was they contacted Tommy and reiterated his recommendation to me. Eddie was no longer with the company so they could not discuss the broiler servicing issue with him.

Tommy then came back 2 days later to install the parts that he said were required to service the broiler. In the interim, I had looked at Lochinvar installation manuals and there was no mention of such a pump in the schematics (I also called Lochinvar but they will not speak with home owners, only service technicians), so I pressed him further as to why this $700 pump plus labor costs was necessary. During that conversation, Tommy took the front panel off the broiler for the first time and right there inside the broiler was the very pump that he said needed to be installed! He said the valve was still necessary and the only way to flush the broiler, it was a low cost part and I wanted the broiler to be serviced at the end of all of this so I agreed to installation (still do not know if the value was necessary, but I doubt it). So he installed the valve, flushed the broiler, then had to reflush the lines that he flushed 2 days prior. This service day cost $375 in labor and $152 in parts.

I contacted the office after Tommy left and asked what I had paid for on the initial service day as he only looked at the broiler from 2 feet away, said it was not serviceable without installing more parts, and then he had to reflush the lines a second time anyway. The office person listened to my concerns and said she would get back to me on Monday as it was Friday. I never heard back from the office and both of my checks were promptly cashed by Tuesday. No disrespect to Tommy, he is a hard worker and only doing as the company is asking him to do. The issue is that he is not fully trained to service a broiler, who knows what might have happened if I had an issue with the broiler that needed troubleshooting. My experience with other HVAC companies in Santa Fe is that if there is disagreement/confusion between the service technician and the customer, then the owner (who is HVAC trained) is available via telephone to clarify the situation. No such luck with this company, these untrained technicians are on their own.

Also, during this process the company kept asking me to pay a loyalty fee which is an upfront yearly fee that gives you a 15% discount on any service you need during the year. Seems like a scam because it is unlikely that the company would be capable of providing the service you need anyway since they are incapable of routine maintenance.

May 2022: I can't say enough good things about Terrence, Sam, Harrison, Gus, Brandon, Tom, Jerry and the rest of the crew from RoadRunner. Even though it took a couple more days than expected. When it came to removing the old furnace. Installing a new one, and the installation of a new AC unit. The level of work, and the attention to detail were top notch.
