    The only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the technicians I have met have been great.

    I had a residential maintenance agreement. They are supposed to contact you each spring and fall to do a routine system check on your AC (spring) and furnace (fall). It would be well into the season before they would contact me to get me on the schedule. Last week my AC went out. I had not yet been contacted to have my annual AC system check. I called them and specifically requested they come out to do my annual system check that is part of my services plan. The tech came out (he was great) and informed my I needed a new AC. He also told me I owed $50 for an acid test. I paid the $50 right then. Later that day an estimator from the company came out and provided me with a quote for a new AC and furnace. The quote included a discount for having their residential service agreement and I was told it was the best they could offer.

    I decided the smart thing to do is to get a quote from at least one other company. I did this and the other company quoted $800 less. I informed Standard that I would be going with another company due to it fitting more into my budget. Interestingly, Standard offered to match the quote from the other company. I found this interesting as I'd previously been told that their initial quote was the best they could do. I made the decision to go with the other company due to their more reasonable cost and because I'd not been happy with how far into the season Standard typically came out to do the seasonal maintenance. I expressed this to Standard and informed them that my decision had nothing to do with their techs, as they had been great.

    The next day, I received an email from Standard stating I owed them $78.50 for the service they had provided me when the tech came out. I questioned what this was for, as I had paid the $50 for the acid test and had not been told I owed anything else. I was informed the charge was because the tech "did a thorough inspection when out to the home". Perhaps it's strange that I expected the residential maintenance agreement to include a "thorough inspection" of the AC when they came out for the seasonal check?

    With the experience I have had, I would not recommend this company to anyone. I definitely would not recommend their residential service agreement as they are not timely in completing the maintenance that you pay for, and apparently a "thorough inspection" is not part of the plan.

    The reason I gave 2 stars was because of Christina and Eric. They were the two employees who truly tried to help me after experiencing headache after headache with this company. Eric is a great technician and Christina is a kind and helpful employee. The biggest reason for the low review is from the lack of communication and professionalism. I was told by 3 different employees that I would get a call back about an incorrect bill I was mailed (for over $500 when the most payment discussed for a reinstallation was less than $100- although the technician who came and installed the thermostat told me I wouldn’t need to worry about paying this since I’ve been through enough). An example of my experience with communication is this: I called on a Friday and ask to discuss getting my bill sorted out. The employee guaranteed me they’d call me back by Monday. A week after the Monday when I was promised a call, I called again and explained I never got a call back. No apology was given for not calling when I had been guaranteed a call a week prior to me calling again. After experiencing this more than once, I finally was able to get helped by Christina. I still had to pay a $52 bill when I had a work order that showed I had $0 for the amount due, but I just paid it to finally end the experience and move on. Overall, the experience was mostly stressful and frustrating for me.

    Not only were they timely and responsive, they were caring. Our ac went out and we have a two week old baby at home. When I called for service, they jumped on the ball to make sure I got the service needed ASAP. Within 10-15 minutes, Kyle was at my door (after hours) to help solve my issue. Kyle was FANTASTIC. He was super knowledgeable, explained things clearly, walked me step by step in what he was doing and needed to do, and genuinely cared about the situation we were in. I would 100% recommend again and again.

    Horrible customer service via phone. Techs that actually show up for job are excellent and very helpful. Took 2 weeks of voicemails, transfers, and refusals for someone to admit they needed to come back to install our heater after only installing our A/C. We thought paying for both to be replaced was easier than doing each separately. Mind you all this after they had already been paid for both systems. I even tried referring them to the company I work for to have the same customer service horrors arise.

    This spring we had Kevin service our air conditioning and signed up for their program that services both heating in fall and air in spring for a reasonable price.

    Wyatt was very helpful. It turned out he also installed my brothers system.

    This was an after hours service call for A/C repair. The technician arrived in time and was great. I wasn’t too pleased getting charged 5 X for the part used for the repair. I understand that’s it’s after hours, justifying the labor charge but I don’t see why existing customers that have a maintenance plan still get charged excessively for a $32 part. But thank you to the technician who came out for the repair.

    I recently moved into my house and wanted to get regular maintenance scheduled on the furnace and air conditioner. Standard had reasonable prices and a fairly quick turnaround with getting out to look at my units. Happy with the overall process and I’m looking forward to working with them again!

    When your AC goes out in the summer, the best thing you can hope for is that a knowledgeable person who is good to work with comes out the same day and gets it fixed. That's exactly what Standard Heating & Air was able to do for me. Had a great tech and good experience all around. Highly recommend.

    Furnace stopped working. We called Standard, Joe was very professional and we had heat in no time. With having a medical problem this was needed. Thank you Joe.
