I had an atrocious experience with United Airlines and ended up being stranded in Paris with my daughter. They also lost my luggage and the experience pretty much ruined the whole European vacation.
After I returned, I submitted 4 requests to them, they all but ignored them all, just sending me a postcard to thank me for contacting them with NO reference number to follow up on!
However, they quickly responded to the BBB and offered a solution with some compensation that though now really close to being enough, was about the best I could expect and I accepted.
I cannot thank the BBB enough for their help, they were excellent and my case was quickly resolved and United did keep their word with their (minor) compensation. I strongly recommend that folks try the BBB before hiring lawyers and spending a fortune on litigation that will take forever!

l file a compliant with better business bureau this past November online and to this day no one has responded. l received am email saying they transfer my compliant to BBB" office in New York likewise, The employee in that department told me she can not take on my compliant likewise, lied said she does not work there. She clearly took in the compliant and provided me no service as well as l received another email saying my case is closed. l being calling and steady emails and no one has provided me additional feedback yet info in addition, I have my case number.

A collection agency was calling me by automated message several times a day, even on Sunday morning. I did not owe any debts and had just been given a new telephone number. I thought the previous owner of my new number was the target of collections, but when I told them this by phone and letter the calls continued. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and asked if they could help. The BBB agent answered my request quickly and contacted this collection agency on my behalf. The calls stopped. I have worked with BBB in the past and am very happy with their professionalism and results. BBB cannot make problems you caused go away, but if you cannot resolve an issue and you can prove you are right, BBB will go to bat for you. I also learned BBB will provide information about businesses you are thinking of using. I recommend the BBB.

Complete scam! If you are not signed up with them and paying, they will only allow bad reviews for your business. I had a number of customers leave positive reviews for my business, but BBB never posted. Pure extortion.

I was dealing with a credit card company that had made a mistake. They would not admit that they had messed up and would not allow me to talk with supervisors to get the issue resolved. I have dealt with them for about 3 years and now that my account was almost paid off they became impossible to deal with. I just wanted what was wrong fixed and nothing more. I contacted to BBB and the issue was resolved quickly and they were instrumental in getting my issue resolved. If it was not for the BBB, I would have probably not been able to resolve my situation.

In response to the BBB. We are not disputing the price and the damage the contractor caused is outside the scope of the contract. The contract has concluded and has been paid in full.

How can anyone take the BBB seriously when a contractor can so easily defeat the possibility of anyone making a complaint. If anyone doubts this account have a look at Express Kitchen and Bath on the BBB website. They have overwhelmingly negative reviews 11 complaints as of the last time I looked and a accredited A+ rating from the BBB.

We recently filed a complaint on a contractor that damaged our home. After going through the process we discovered that the business added an arbitration clause to their contract which if there is a price dispute prevents the BBB from pursuing the claim.

In this case there was no price dispute and the claim should not have been closed but it was. If you look this company "Express Kitchen and Bath" up on the BBB you will find that they have one bad review after another with a cocky boiler plate response from the company. It is my opinion that because of this loophole in their contract they have been able to maintain an A+ rating in spite of the reviews people left and 11 complaints closed many with no resolution.

This really calls into question the value of an A+ rating for me. If the system is so easy to game then how can the BBB be taken seriously.

I have used the BBB for every issue that I have had with a company. Sometimes the result is rewarding and sometimes it just get the attention of the company that your are having the dispute with. It is so much easier to allow them to contact the company you are having an issue with instead of trying to handle it on your own. If ever you feel you have been treated unfairly in any way from a business, contact the BBB. It's fast and it's easy to do.

I was having a real problem with a major mattress company over a 25 year warranty , and the mattress wasn't even 2 years old . I argued with this company for 5 months and was still getting ignored , so I decided to contact the BBB for some help . And sure enough , in less than 48 hours of filing my complaint with the BBB the company finally responded and wanted to work things out with me .
I am very grateful that this organization is here for the consumer ( the little guy ) . It seems that some big businesses don't want to respond to you once they have your money . I have never used the BBB until now . But I have learned a valuable lesson and wont hesitate to use them again if I ever find myself in a dispute with a company in the future . Thank you BBB for watching out for the consumer .

To describe how efficient and effective BBB is, I would use just one word - AMAZING.

I have used their services twice so far, once when I had a terrible time with HP customer service and another time when the phone I bought from Motorola India was not being serviced properly.
Both the times I found the turn around from the business was very quick and the resolution was in my favour (and rightly so).
Before contacting BBB, in both the cases, I had lost all hopes of ever getting through to the business and be heard. I felt I was being stone walled.

I used BBB as a last resort in both the cases and they didn't let me down. It was a great relief for me.

Thanks BBB for all the good work. Not sure if I can thank you guys enough!.

I used BB for the first time ever on my new health insurance provider. As soon as I told the provider I was filing the report, I got action within an hour. Prior to filing the report, I had tried six times over two days with constant delays/push back from the new provider to reimburse me timely for my out of pocket expense.

BB contacted the provider within a few days and followed up with my second comments to let them know the provider did not provide customer service.

I recommend BB for their follow up and great customer service.
