I had an issue with Empire Today and defective carpeting. They kept putting me off for over a month. I felt helpless and did not know what to do. My next step was going to be small claims court. I finally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and within 24 hours I got a call back from Empire today and within a month the carpet was replaced and the issue finally resolved. I highly recommend utilizing this service as you will get immediate results! Thank you BBB for helping me when I felt completely helpless and did not know where to turn.

My experience with BBB has been very positive. After being ignored by Sears for nearly five months, I filed a complaint with BBB and they took over and got results right away. It was not a situation that could be resolved quickly, rather it required many steps for a complete solution and they provided the due diligence and got results. I am absolutly certain that without the support of BBB this would never have been resolved and we would have been out almost $10,000.
BBB has asked us to let them know if there is any way they can improve their service and I'm hard pressed to even mention anything because of the great results we did receive. Perhaps the amount of time they give to the company under complaint is a bit lengthy in between responses and could be shortened. Had it been a little bit quicker I would have rated them the full five stars. We are very appreciative of their services.

I have used the BBB 3 times in the past few years and have had nothing but great success with them. Companies do not want the bad publicity and when they find out you are willing to fight for what is right and the BBB is on your side they act as quickly as possible to rectify the situations. In all 3 cases I kept hitting walls but as soon as I filed the complaints I received calls the very next day from Senior Managers to clear up the issues.
Thank you guys and keep up the great work!

Hi ,
I visited the website to make a complaint online about a business. I like the fact that you can file a complaint on line ,or over the phone. That's great incase you don't want to wait to speak to a live person.

I bought a campground (Thousand Trails) gold membership at 1990 that company keep closing so many campgrounds instead of getting more for us. Due to the inconvenience, we did not use that for a long time. Then that company goes worst, I don’t know they SOLD or just merge, but they change to another company names (NACO and Equity Life Style, etc.) They keep calling us to join the seminars, try to get us upgrade told to earn more benefit. I tell them about 10 years ago that I do not want to upgrade as Elite, but simple want to know how to get away the maintenance fees because I no longer use their services. They are threatening us that because we are LIFETIME member, it means we cannot get out of it unless both my husband and I were dead. BUT we can pass to our kid or anyone who’s interested with $2000 transfer fee. If they don’t like it, they can dump it after 3 years for no cost. I just don’t believe them anymore and do not want to pass the trouble to my children. I asked if I can donate to charity, they told me NO, because that will bring so many people to use their campground for special events. So it means they only want our money but not willing us to use.
After I report to State of California and BBB, they finally agree to cancel our membership. But we get no refund for the 10 years maintenance fees and no refund for the membership.
I just feel BBB is very helpful, once I let them know I reported, they resolve the problem immediately. I definitely will refer people to use BBB and encourage everyone bring those bad company to public to prevent more people as victims.

I had a dispute with our cell phone carrier, that I was unable to resolve, which involved them charging me over $300 in error. Finally I filed a BBB complaint, and because of this complaint, finally the company cleared the matter up. I had spent hours talking to these people, and was repeatedly told they couldn't do anything to help me. When the BBB complaint was sent to them, they immediately took action.
My recommendation to anyone who has an issue with a business that they have not been able to resolve is to get the BBB involved. I have used them numerous times, and each time was able to reach a resolution. For some reason, when a business has a bad BBB rating, it matters to them, and they generally will change their tune from uncooperative to cooperative and willing to work the issue out.

I was very pleased at the prompt resolution that the BBB helped me with when I felt a large chain store was insisting on too much personal information at point of purchase. These days there are very little places one can turn to for this kind of help, and I was impressed with both the efficiency and the easy resolution of my complaint. When the respondent called, they couldn't have been nicer. And they had been ignoring me until the BBB got involved.

I am so pleased with the way the BBB of Chicago took care of my case. First of all, always try to deal with the company yourself as I did, but when they shut you down, file a complaint with the BBB. I do not like to go to the BBB, but sometimes companies leave you no choice as in my case. The case was settled ver quickly, and with better results than I ever expected. I would not hesitate to get in touch with the BBB any time in the future if a company refuses to deal with me one on one. Do not let people get over on you, when you have paid good money for something, and it falls apart in a short time, contact the company, and if that does not work, file a complaint with the BBB, and that is easy to do online.

I had a compliant about a dog training company, which was never resolved-but closed out because it appeared the company was not willing to answer anymore questions. The company i complained about was very difficult to work with and would continually change their information. Unfortunately, most of my experience with the company was verbal, which didn't give me much to provide or the BBB to work with, but my case worker was amazing. Though this review is late, i felt compelled to let her and her boss know immediately how spectacular she was.
Reasons why my case worker was great is because she was honest, kept her information straight, and acknowledged the scenario. I couldn't even get the dog training company to acknowledge my dog's abilities prior to their 'training' even with the video proof i sent in, but the case worker acknowledged this. -might not seem important to some but when you've been dealing with a company not listening to you for months and then someone comes along and acknowledges it, makes a huge impression!
She was even ok with me calling her after it was closed due to feeling threatened by the dog training company because their general counsel sent me an email to remove my bad review of them as soon as the BBB complaint was closed.
I've said it before and i'll say it again, I hope everyone gets to have a case worker like mine. She was amazing!

I made a complaint against Curly's Furniture in Dekalb IL in 4/2019. The BBB contacted me via email asking more details, so I gave that back to them. I now see that my emailed "details" were placed in the BBB profile for Curlys furniture Dekalb, IL and to boot the BBB took from my email signature my name, linkedin address etc and placed it publically on the internet. I am calling a lawyer because not only did the BBB not do anything at all, they placed my private information on the web without my permission. All the BBB did was email me asking me more details never stating that what would be emailed would be public knowledge. So my complaint never was given any justification and the BBB put me in a vulnerable position to be harassed by publically providing my name, and linkedin contact information etc. Completely unethical.
