    After dealing with a bunch of people who were jokes for AC Techs I started doing research and found Island AC and these guys handled business for me and quick!!! Thank you Larry for your experience, knowledge, and quickness! This place is the only AC company I’ll ever use! THANK YOU GUYS FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!

    I used them for my business for years. And, I really liked them. Then an AC stopped working in the middle of the night. They acted like they had no idea who I was an stated they could not make it out till the next day b/c I had no account with them. Which was completely untrue. I had been a customer of theirs for over 10 years. Then the same AC broke again one week later, and again stated that they had not been out to fix it since 2016 which was a big fat lie. They just came to fix it a week before. They were rude, and short with me. You give someone business for 10 years and that is how you get treated? They had the audacity to say that I must have used someone else. I think I know who fixes my AC. I will be switching my company to someone else.

    They saved my life. I called them in tears when my AC in the rental home I’m living in went down and was told by my landlord it would be my responsibility to fix. It is the dead of summer in Florida and I’m 8 months pregnant. Within 10 minutes of leaving a message on the emergency after hours line of Island Air Conditioning, I received a call back, and within 20 minutes someone was at my door. Caleb and the Island Air Team could not have been better. Literally a breath of fresh air in the hot summer heat. Thank you so much for coming to the rescue and I highly recommend!

    The company is professional and most technicians are excellent and knowledgeable. Learn about the good technicians so you can request those. We have had 6 installs at the office and installations at home addresses so we would recommend highly overall.

    I called Island Air Conditioning in order to get my AC problem diagnosed, apparently, the system was not blowing cold according to my tenant, so I called island air Conditioning instead of another company I regularly use. I manage properties in the Delray Beach and St. Petersburg areas, and I have experience dealing with a few AC repair companies.

    Not satisfied with Island air conditioning's handling of the issue.

    Their technician "diagnosed"
    - a bad start capacitor
    - an intermittent airhandler fan motor
    - a clogged water pan

    My total bill was $253.

    Here's the breakdown:
    $90 fee (just to start their work truck and drive out - non refundable )
    $163 for a Start capacitor (a very cheap and easily replaceable part that Island grossly overcharged for)

    I believed the $90 would be applied towards any repair costs, but they charged additionally for the capacitor install ( which as it turns out, was not necessary)

    I opted to save the additional labor cost, and sucked out the water pan algae myself with my wet-dry vac. (But even before I did this, despite the tech stating that it was intermittent, the air handler continued working the entire time I was present).

    Start Capacitors cost about $12 at Tropic Supply in Delray. That Island Air charged me $163 for one represents about a 1100% markup. One thousand one-hundred percent! To put that into perspective, that would be like paying $28 for a $2.50 gallon of gas.

    And the grand finale! -----> the start capacitor wasn't the problem (I ran the old capacitor through my multimeter and it measured up just fine)

    After all this , I believe the problem the whole time was that the elderly lady living in the apartment had closed the living room vent, to the point that that room was 5 degrees warmer than the rest of the place. After I adjusted the AC vents in the apartment, the temperatures evened out through the dwelling.

    I believe my non refundable $90 service call fee (yes, although it's outrageous, I agreed to it) should have covered this simple fix. I think the technician threw out some common AC malfunctions, perhaps thinking I wouldn't follow-up on his multiple diagnoses. Most folks wouldn't follow up.

    I would expect a refund of the $163 dollars, but Island Air has not responded to my voicemail where I left just my name and number requesting a callback.

    Will keep this review updated when I receive any response from them.

    Dangerouly poor quality of maintenence will result in expensive flooding of your home when a/c pan overflows. Their poor quality techs will give you a false sense of security. You simply cannot trust who they send to work at your home. it is a shame because they were once a good company.
