If you are assigned this company by your home warranty company, do not accept! ask for a different provider. They are dishonest and not good at hiding it. They lied to home warranty company about the reason an item was not working, so they can come back and charge me more for item "not covered". Dishonest and unprofessional technician and company. They take advantage of a loophole with American Home Shield. If there is more than one item that needs repair, they repair the first item and claim the second item was not the result of normal wear and tear. The warranty won't question the technician's determination, and won't cover the item. The company gets paid for the visit and then "offers" to repair the item for a fee. It's a scam!

We received the name of this company from our home warranty, after reporting that our air conditioner was not functioning. It is June and 90 degrees in our house. We gave Epic Mech. 48 hours and then called them. They stated that they were going through 150+ calls and that they would work us in the following week. I asked them to reconsider, given that our Air was completely out. They stated there was nothing they could do and to call our home warranty company back. I was unable to get anyone from the Home Warranty on the phone. We called Middleton Heat and Air which worked us in to the schedule in 4 days, all out of pocket, of course. I just received a call from Epic Mech. to schedule us an appt. for next Wednesday, which would have been 3 complete weeks of being without air conditioning. Terrible service on both Epic Mech. and home warranty companies.

Epic Mechanical Installed a new air conditioning unit last September 2018 through my home warranty company and charged me over $2200 for items not covered under warranty. Am just learning that it should have only been around $800. Epic was assigned again to service my system that quit working 11 days ago. After 8 days, and daily phone calls to home warranty company and Epic, a technician finally came out and diagnosed the problem as bad compressor. After 3 days of Epic failing to submit proper paperwork to the home warranty company, the company assigned a different company to help me. After a quick appointment and 30 minutes diagnosing the problem, the issue was resolved and turned out to be a stuck drain float that was causing the unit to short cycle and shut down. I believe Epic’s actions were nothing more than attempted fraud. I’d say this type of service has been what earned Epic an F rating on the Better Business Bureau’s website.

Rude Tech will not use again. Called my home warranty. My air conditioner was not cooling. A tech name Richard came out this was at the end of March was told it was the vapor coil needed to be replaced. The next day after coming out to my home. I received a call at work from Epic telling me my entire system needed to be replaced. What. The tech on the line stated he can get $1200.00 toward me a new system from my warranty co and that they can finance the rest for about 45.00 or 60.00 a month. I told them no. I called the warranty company back and asked for a second opinion. I told the warranty co what Epic proposed. I told that they would look into it and would send someone else. I waited a few days no came so I called back. Was told they could give me the evaporation coil and let someone else put it in which meant it would void my warranty or pay Epic 1000.00 to put it in. I agreed to pay the $1000.00 ended up paying $1085.00. They came to replace the coil on 4/20/18. Cooled 6 or 7 days called the warranty company back on 5/3/18 .They sent Richard told me nothing was wrong with the air. Proceeds to show me 3 things to do to get the air to work then says can't fix it if it is not broken on 5/8/2018 air stopped completely. Call the warranty company assigned the job back to Epic due to 30 warranty on,completed work. I waited until after 8 am the next morning before I contacted Epic. Was told they was booked nothing available and the dispatcher would call me later to set up appointment. I waited until around 10 am no Called from Epic. The warranty company called Epic and was told the same thing as I was nothing available plus,they didn't know what was wrong
The warranty co assigned the job to another company. Oh yes Epic called on the 10th. Epic is a rip off. If your warranty co recommens Epic say no. Send me someone that are not thieves.

So, I contacted AHS because a tree knocked out my power. Monday at 8:30 a.m., I contacted Epic Mechanical because they'd been assigned to my service request. First, the woman on the phone told me that they could send someone out Thursday. Quite naturally, I declined in order to seek a contractor who could restore my power sooner. I don't often go four days without electricity. She then located an appointment for Tuesday afternoon. Again, I declined. When I contacted AHS, the agent spoke with someone at Epic Mechanical. Lo and behold, the company could miraculously send someone out from 3-5 Monday. In my spirit, I knew they were lying, but I couldn't prove it. 3:00 NO SHOW, 4:00 NO SHOW. I called and got the voicemail. Then I used my son's phone to call the number, again, a miraculous breakthrough. The woman on the phone told me that the electrician was just wrapping up a job and should be there soon. He still hasn't come. A word of advice: Don't take more business than you can handle. People need their electricity. You knew when you initially said Thursday that you DID NOT have anyone to come to my house that day. So, now I am sitting in a hotel typing the worst review that I have ever written. Serves you right because you didn't serve me at all.

"We didn't end up using Epic to fix the AC. I had my local HVAC company fix my problem because they got to me same day. I had already waited nearly 3 weeks to get the air back on. This was in NO part Epic's fault, rather FAHW and their inability to get parts in a timely manner. Epic was very communicative with me about where we were in the process from start to finish. Their hands were tied because FAHW couldn't get parts fast enough. "

This jackass thinks this is "fixed". Exposed wires in the elements and ready to be rained on and didn't return my call when his work was "complete". Very unprofessional and will not be using them again.

We were provided with services from Epic through our home warranty service (American Home Shield). From the time the claim was made and until the problem was resolved, we received timely service, prompt attention to our phone calls and they stayed in contact with us until the final step. From Andy (at Epic) to Seth (the electrician) we received great care and help in this matter.

American Home Shield sent Epic Mechanical Service Co. out to check out my A/C. The technician that came out without looking at the unit said it needed coolant. I asked the technician to look at the unit in the attic he said, “it was too hot and that he didn’t need to.” The technician said the home warranty would only cover $10.00 a pound on the coolant and I needed to pay $85.00. I asked for an invoice that is when things turned bad. He told me that they do not have invoices. I explain that I needed this for my records. The technician started yelling and using profanity at me. He called me several profanity names. I asked for his boss’s name and he told me to call the profanity name on the side of the truck. He then got into his truck and gave me the finger and speed off. I have left serval messages for the owner of Epic Mechanical Service Co to call me with no call back. I finally talked to a lady in the office she asked if I was going to pay the bill I said as soon as my problem was resolved I would pay the bill. She then hung up on me. I have never in my life had to deal with a company like this. Before this I have never heard of Epic Mechanical Service Co. I wouldn’t ever do business with this company again. I wouldn’t want anyone to deal with what I have had to with this company. Please stay away from this company.
