I got a quote for 11k on a duct work for small apartment from these guys. I got the same quote from two different companies around 5k. They also told the warranty company that the damage was caused by rats so the warranty company won’t reimburse anything. The other companies said the damage was done by the insulation deteriorating over the years. Don’t use these guys! Not to mention the loan they wanted sell. They are overpriced and unethical.

Poor communication if you can ever get anyone to even answer the phone. Lied about my unit so that it would not be covered by my home warranty. They were supposed to send another technician to look at it and never did.
I never received an invoice, I had a lady call me as I was driving and tried to get me to pay over the phone. I asked her to send me an itemized invoice, she emailed me a vague invoice for “uncovered work and labor.”

Technician was knowledgeable and able to quickly diagnose and repair the air conditioner unit.

James was excellent to work with. He went above and beyond to make sure our system was fixed. I’m very appreciative, thanks James!

I have First American Home Warranty and the technicians have been everything from dishonest to unprofessional. I have had the run around for the past 3 weeks and still no fix. I have spoken to the warranty company which has been great, and every time the problem stems right back to Epic not getting information, sending wrong information, and now they tell me I owe them $1,750 for charges they can't seem to explain. I would not recommend this company. I've heard Dash Heating and Cooling does a fine job. Spare yourself and do not use Epic. I am sorry I have had to deal with the arrogance and unprofessionalism. The guy today grinned at me when he told me it could not be fixed.

James showed up on time, wasted no time, was obviously very experienced and competent. We were very pleased with his work.

The most dishonest and crooked company I have ever dealt with. In August, the evaporator coiled failed in our A/C system. First American Home warranty sent Epic Mechanical as the contractor. From the moment they arrived, their entire focus was on me replacing the entire system before they had even diagnosed a thing. I told them I was not interested in replacing the system, and I was fine with waiting on a new coil which they said would takes several months. After the coil arrived, Epic Mechanical called me to make the appointment for installation of new coil. During that conversation, I asked for a breakdown of the non-covered costs, which totaled $1,075 dollars. The person at the office refused to break down the price by item, but stated that the following modifications would be needed: 1) The copper between the coil and the condenser would have to be replaced with new copper through the attic. 2) The existing ductwork would not fit my new coil and all of that would have to be modified, including new strapping. 3) A secondary drain pan would be installed. I kept asking for a line item detail but she refused to provide it. I finally agreed to a date and got on the schedule. On the scheduled date of the repair, I had a repair window of 9AM - 12PM. At 10:00 I received a phone call stating that they would not be coming today because "There was a problem with getting the coil, so I am going to have to reorder it. It will be here Monday so we can reschedule for then." I found it odd that it took 2 months to get the first coil, but some how she could magically produce a second one in 2 days. A new installation date of 11/8/22 was set. Upon arrival, the technician was very nice. He and his helper got right to work. They ended up fitting the new coil to the old copper lines which required nothing more than the proper sized reducer. The new coil enclosure was an exact match to the old one, so it was secured it position and sealed with standard HVAC foil tape. No strapping was required. In addition, no secondary drain pan was installed because it is above a concrete floor in garage. Watching the whole process, I asked the technician why the copper was not run through the attic as indicted before scheduling. He said that it was not needed and would be an extra charge. I then asked what "Copper mods" were actually done and he said "none". I pointed out that the evaporator coil enclosure matched right up to the unit and he said "Yeah, we did not have to change anything". I then asked about the drain pan and he said it was not required. After making these observations, I pointed out to the technician the literally none of the items listed under non-covered costs were completed, and I asked him to call the office and adjust my invoice accordingly. When the technician made the call, (Which I was standing next to him on speakerphone) he told her that: "Look, this guy knows about heat and air and he knows these things were not done. He wants the invoice adjusted." He then handed me the phone and I explained my concerns to her. She said: "I will revamp the invoice and send you a new one." A few minutes later, I received an new invoice. The total dollars was still $1,075.00 and she had removed the drain pan from the list. I called her back and told her that she has literally changed nothing and this was unacceptable. She said she would not budge on the price because all of the pricing was set by the warranty company. I explained to her that I am well aware of what the warranty company pays for: They pay for the part, the contractor get a set dollar amount for labor and then and costs above and beyond that are the customer's responsibility. She said she did not care and if I did not pay they would remove the coil from my system. Be warned - do not let these people in you home.

They replaced HVAC unit through warranty company (American Homeshield). Unit installed is too small to heat our home. Called today and asked them to come out and check. I was told they would call and come out today. They did not call. I would not use this company.
