Green City Heating and Air Conditioning

There is an old saying about projects: Good Fast Cheap -- pick two. With these guys, I got all three. As context, I have been renovating and remodeling house for almost 40 years. My current project required a new gas furnace, which I supplemented with a heat pump (for energy efficiency and "free" summertime A/C). I got 11 bids because the initial ones came in so high. I finally got a bid from Green City, and it was significantly lower in cost than the others. Yet it was for better quality units than many of the others, and they were able to come in sooner than the others. They communicated clearly and showed up exactly when they said they would.

The installation crew (Jasper, Ron, and Matt) were friendly, helpful, and communicated well. Most of all, they were highly professional and knowledgeable. They were flexible in some of the details of the installation in order to accommodate my wishes, and went out of their way to make sure I was happy. For example, the old furnace was in a sort of closet, and was a fairly small unit. Because I chose a furnace with a heat pump, the indoor unit must necessarily be larger, yet they somehow managed to squeeze it in so I didn't have to reframe the door. Might not sound like much, but it was a big deal to me.

The installation was highly efficient. They were one of the best crews I have ever encountered, and again, I've encountered a LOT over the years.

When they finished and tested the system, everything worked perfectly. I was amazed at how quiet the heat pump and furnace fan were even though I had not chosen the higher-end models.

Bottom line is that, if you are doing any kind of HVAC in your house, I would unhesitatingly urge you to at least give this company a chance to come in an bid on your project. In the future, I probably won't even get competitor bids; I'll just call these guys in and have them do the project.

My furnace stopped working on a Friday evening and it’s been a pretty cold week. Called around to try to get some weekend service and Jeff at Green City was beyond helpful. He walked me through some troubleshooting over the phone and when that didn’t work he said he’d contact one of his employees to come by. When he called back he mentioned his employee might be able to come by at the end of the day but instead he would drive out himself. Within 20 minutes he was at my house and was able to diagnose my problem and give me a fair price even though it was a weekend. Highly recommend them and very happy with my decision to call Green City!

Green City Heating and Airconditioning installed a ductless mini Airconditioning system in my town home unit about 2 months ago and it is working beautifully. I normally am not into writing reviews, but with my exceptionally satisfying experience I felt like making this an exception. I researched with four different well known contractors before finalizing to go with Green City. And I am so happy with that choice. I found the owner Jeff Simonson a solution and customer satisfaction person and his entire team following that same attitude. Diamond Harris came out to evaluate and provide estimate. Showed me all the options. A perfect solution was given. Received his estimate and proposal. Had some issues and concerns with the proposal. Had a conversation with Jeff. And what an experience with Jeff. Every issue I had, was resolved amicably and pleasantly. And now the installation. Alex and his support Randy did a super job. My town home manager who rigidly implements HOA guidelines was impressed. Not only approved the job, but gave the installation a high👍. The job was done so well that I had a few neighbors coming out with compliments and asking for references. Will I recommend Green City. Absolutely. As far as I am concerned, Green City is the provider for all my future HVAC needs.

Tony/Devon did a great job. Were on time and very professional. I suspected that the thermostat wiring should be checked before the new furnace was installed not to find ourselves with a good furnace but a non workable thermostat wiring. Jeff who is the CEO was very thoughtful and sent a senior technician before the installation started and Paul (senior technician) knew exactly what had to be done. Jeff was also super patient with me and answered the innumerable questions I had. Definitely recommended.

Love this company! Owner Jeff gave me the price over the phone for the furnace I needed, which saved a lot of time having to do a home consultation. The price was just a little over what I paid for the broken furnace 16 years ago! Also, installers Isaac and Gabino were great. Arrived before the scheduled time, were very knowledgeable and polite. Completely cleaned all messes up. Also, they fabricated a new filter door on the new furnace, making it much easier to access. 100% satisfied.

Green City installed tankless water, AC, filter, and furnace systems for us this summer. First their quotation was great, Isaac worked with us to help us understand the landscape and our options, and listened as our understanding and choices evolved. Their crew helped us dial-in exactly what we wanted.

We talked to over half a dozen other vendors before selecting their very complete and competitive bid. Installation of all items took around 2 days, the crew were great to work with, clean, timely, methodical, and communicated with us throughout - hard to underestimate how good that was. We were without water for only an hour during all of this! Installation was pain free. Permitting was quick and easy. We are delighted with their work. We’d definitely work with Green City again.

We used another company to install the central A/C unit in our house a couple years ago and when we needed a ductless unit installed in an ADU last year we received quotes from a couple companies including the other provider and Green City. Jeff from Green City was who we worked with and I remember, in addition to having a competitive quote, he was super informative throughout the process and helped us make the best decision for the space we needed A/C and heat for.

Fast forward to the Saturday of the weekend with record-setting heat. We have a 1 month old and our 2 year old condenser that another vendor installed has stopped working just before midnight. We know going into a Sunday, especially such a hot weekend, only so many A/C companies will be working and with such a hot forecast the few are probably in crazy high demand. Nonetheless we try contacting companies that show they have 24/7 service available. The first we can't even reach anyone. The second is Green City and thankfully Jeff answered. Of course he's also 100 inquiries deep so unable to do a service call but did spend a few mins talking with my husband via phone to troubleshoot. Thanks to his help, my husband figured out what needed to be fixed to get the condenser running again and we were able to stay relatively comfortable.

Highly recommend reaching out to Green City if you want to work with a local business that cares about people in general.

These guys did a great job with a complete system overhaul. Even with my less than ideal situations they were completely professional and didn’t respond in a begrudgingly way to my requests. Came in with the best estimate with better equipment than a couple other companies I’d contacted about this job. Very reasonable negotiating within my budget. Jeff was my pointman on the job but his two main guys during this install (I’m terrible with names) were very professional and courteous and patient with me and my family. Jeff even got me prioritized with a vent cleaning company to come out during the install to clean my vents. Thoroughly impressed.

After getting quotes from 3 different companies, we chose Green City even though they were the most expensive because they were clearly the most knowledgeable and professional. During every step of the process, all of their representatives were efficient and thorough. They even installed and set up our smart thermostat that we had not purchased from them. And they were kind to my toddler :) We would definitely use this company again.

We had a wonderful experience with Green City. They were responsive and on time during the quote process. Once we got to installation of our new gas furnace, gas hot water heater, and fireplace insert they were very professional, clean, on time, and very responsive to questions.
Definitely recommended!
