Places a claim with American Homeshield and they assigned ATR. The issue was my hvac unit was freezing and the motor would not turn on. The tech says the part would need to be ordered and it would only take a few days. A week passed and I received a notification that the service was completed. It was not. I contacts AHS and reported the issue was not fixed. ATR called me saying the system to order the motor was down. They said they’d call me back when the part is ordered. That was almost 3 weeks ago. I called again and left a voicemail. No call back. Just contacted AHS again to report this issue is still not fixed. I’ve been using space heaters to heat my down stairs for over a month since initially opening the claim. Terrible service poor communication
Extremely unprofessional, unreliable and lacking in knowledge. The technician from ATR left the valve open to my water heater which heats my home. It then flooded the coils and into my bathroom through the ceiling. It has been a week and a half with no heat or access to the bathroom and they have not taken responsibility, nor has AHS which contracts them. I was told the field manager would be on vacation for five more days and would then need another week to make a decision about the damage that is 100% their fault. If AHS assigns this company, you are better off paying out of pocket for someone else. It definitely would have saved me money.
After 3 months ATR will still not contacted me, so I am having to take them to court to recoup the damages.
**Update: After filing with the court and being served the paperwork, I was finally contacted by the head of ATR. Although blame was not accepted, I was recouped for damages if I did not take him to court. PLEASE do not put yourself in this position. I understand mistakes will happen, but there is no reason it should take court to get a response from the company.
Had to use this company thru American Home Shield (AHS). They're unresponsive!!!!. It's been 3 weeks and my HVAC still hasn't been repaired. 2 techs came out, diagnosed the problem, but haven't been back to resolve. AHS contacted them and informed me they were waiting for the part to be delivered. I've called but no one answered the phone or returned my many calls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
ATR is a subsidiary company of American Home Shield; thusly they get all their business from AHS. By no fault of ATR, AHS conveniently does not cover most significant repairs when it comes to ductwork.
I had a tech come out to repair the ductwork. Without even looking at the duct work, they took temp readings at each duct and although each was not the same, because there was a temp differential from ambient, they claimed there was nothing wrong with the ductwork. (POOR experience)
Two years later when I was still having vent issues, I went into the craws space to discover THREE places the duct work was completely disconnected. In one instance, there was a missing section of duct. How did it go from 'NOTHING WRONG" (POOR experience) to almost $700 in work that was so bad it wasn't covered by AHS? Had the first ATR tech actually gone into the crawlspace and seen the problem BEFORE it got so bad that AHS didn't cover the repair. The tech this second time, was VERY professional and did the minor repairs in less than 20 min that he was allowed to do. (Good experience with the tech.) Dealing with the company and trying to get a straight answer on what I had to pay out of pocket and what AHS was covering took three weeks and four emails back and forth to conclude that since it wasn't repaired the first time, now it was so bad that AHS wasn't covering ANY of the repairs. (Poor experience with the company)
Third experience- Heat pump needed new capacitor and lines resealed and a recharge. The unit was so delipidated I decided to get a new one (from a company other than ATR.) It took almost a month for ATR to give a detailed cost analysis of the necessary repairs to include my $400 out of pocket, so I could cash out the AHS warranty value of the repair for a new unit. (Excellent experience with the ATR tech. .. not so positive experience with the company itself.
Overall rating over years of AHS sending ATR out for heating and cooling issues: Four out of ten rating. Most of their techs are wonderful. However, the business model and their customer service is very poor... but by design... so AHS doesn't have to pay out.
Forced by warranty company to use this service provider. They are terrible!!!! They do not answer their phone, nor do they return calls. The technician was out on Monday and diagnosed our issue (dead condensation pump). He said once the warranty company approved the repair, they would come back to complete. It’s been 3 days and ATR has not even submitted the report to my warranty company for approval. The heat index is over 100° every day this week and we do not have AC. I advised them on Tuesday that my elderly mother who has dementia was scheduled for surgery on Thursday and would be recovering at my home, therefore I needed them to expedite. As of the end of the business day on Wednesday, they have yet to submit their report. I plan on insisting to my warranty company to reassign us to another provider. I’ve never dealt with a more incompetent business in my life. DO NOT USE!!!! There is a reason this company has 1 star and hundreds of reviews. I’d have given zero stars if it was an option.
***Update- ATR never did submit their report to get approval to make the repairs on our air conditioning. On the 4th day, I hired someone else to come fix it and canceled the the claim. My warranty company refunded my deductible due to ATR being unresponsive to me and to them. Worst company ever!
Between AHS & ATR I'm uncertain as to whom is worse. Going on 3 weeks with no resolution but more LIES from ATR. Still no heat with my elderly grandmother and special needs daughter having to share a space so that they stay warm. Now (ATR) they're not responsive at all.
In 2021, I contacted AHS as my AC had broken down during a heatwave After reading the reviews on ATR, recontacted AHS and requested another contractor. The earliest appointment was 10 days later Not wanting to suffer, I kept the appointment with ATR. The tech arrived on time and explained to me that the repair would take about 3-4 hours. It did take that long and my 23 year old HVAC system has been working perfectly since. This is a truthful and legitimate review and I highly recommend ATR.
ATR Heating and Cooling have repaired my AC Unit and have provided general maintenance and each time they have been very professional and responsive. I would recommend their service to others that are in need of Heating and AC repair.
Stay away, keep away. Was assigned this company through AHS on July 19,2022 first it was impossible to get a hold finally on Wednesday was able to set an appointment but not till Saturday 23 July. The technician could not stand the weather is was very hot.He did a guick determination is was the freon not cooling the ac unit. This was bogus because I just have freon service , I told him its was the compressor it would operate for 5 minutes then overheat and shut off. The technician replied he had to unplug the entire unit to do a temperature test and that the freon was contaninted. I told him do you have to unplug everything he said yes and return to his air-conditioned car to write an invoice. I told him I have pets, older adults and young children he just left.
Then he said I would have to schedule an appointment for him to return on Monday. I say why can't you just reschedule to come back Monday to determine the problem. He said is not his job.
My family has been in hotels since Sunday I tried calling ATR to schedule appointment for Monday but it goes straight to voice mail after waiting 10 minutes to tell you are next in line
The company already sent there invoice to AHS for1,080. Why did they write the invoice ,but had to disconnect my ac unit to determine the problem. There was no reason to disconnect the ac unit.
I have reach out to AHS for another contractor. If you are assigned this company stay far away. You will never be able to reach them. Less than one star.
Horrible customer services, should be remove from AHS
Technician came out 10/11/22 and said blower needed to be replaced it was a very expensive part and someone would call that afternoon to set repair appointment. No one called. 10/13/22 I called ATR said they were waiting on AHS to approve the repair work. I called AHS and they did not have a diagnosis from the company. It would take 24 to 48 hours. I called again 10/14/22 AHS said ATR was suppose to send in the diagnosis and had not done so. Icalled ATR and could not get through to the company. AHS call ATR and was sending it in that day. 10/17/22 called AHS they still did not have the information from ATR. Still no resolve. Very upset.
