Air Specialist Heating & Air Conditioning

Had them come out for tune-up, not sure about words “tune-up”, just checked that everything was working right and told me to trim bushes back. Said there really wasn’t anything as far as maintenance, either works or doesn’t. So I was glad only $59, said normally it’s $99. Guy was nice & professional.

Air Specialist came out for the annual AC checkup and brought along a plumber who performed a courtesy check of all our sinks, toilets, and water heater. This was a great bonus! The guys gave us clear information on how our systems were running. We needed to update/replace some parts of our AC unit. They gave us a reasonable price, had all the parts with them, and were able to finish everything in under 2 hours. We will definitely be using this company for all future AC needs!!!

I accidentally called this company instead of the one I intended to call, and am so glad I did. Everyone I’ve interacted with gas been great! They do what they say they’re going to do when they say they’re going to do it and have always been very responsive. The technicians are very knowledgeable and very pleasant to deal with. They inform you about additional work or parts your system may need to extend the life of the system, but there’s no high pressure sales involved. They give you the information, answer your questions and then let you make your decision in your own time. I would definitely recommend this company. I would also highly recommend the maintenance program they offer.

UPDATE: After all of the below, three total burned out compressors later, and weeks without A/C the company sent out a different manager to evaluate the situation. He indicated the problem was not the return air but rather the copper line installed was the wrong diameter for this unit. This was the first we had heard of this. He proceeded to change out the copper line and replace the entire outside unit free of charge. Everything has worked great since. I am leaving a three star review, because in the end the company did the right thing, which honestly most companies don't. That said, the route to get there was brutal and appears to have stemmed from an improper initial installation.

We hired Air Specialist to replace our 15 year old, working but ageing, A/C system in August 2020. The experience at the time was fine. Unfortunately, less than a year later the compressor went out. The technician who diagnosed the issue indicated the unit was installed improperly and there was not sufficient return air for the new unit. He made some suggestions to add a new return air, but indicated he really needed a manager to take a look to decide where it should go. He indicated it would be several days to receive the compressor and they would contact me when it arrives. I was not offered a portable A/C unit by the technician, but I did call and ask for one and appreciate that it was provided as I was without A/C for 4 days.

After he left, I received an emailed quote for $1200 to install an additional return air. I called their office and asked for a manager to come out to make sure this is what was needed to be done. I was assured someone would call me back shortly. After 2 days of not hearing anything, I called back and spoke to a manager at the office, who assured my they would be coming tomorrow to replace my compressor and a manager would come check the return air situation. The manager did come but the air wasn't working, so he asked the technician to run a leak test. He assured me that my return air was fine if there were no leaks and suggested just installing a new larger grill. He said he would call me after the test came back to discuss. I never received a call back from the manager. I did receive a call from customer service stating I was scheduled for a grill replacement. They came and replaced the grill. No one mentioned the cost beforehand. I had hoped they would take care of this since it was something that was overlooked during the initial installation. But I paid the $300 for the new grill installation.

All of this said, I am leaving the 1 star review, because I am still not sure if the return air was properly fixed. No one really wanted to take the time to make sure my system was running properly. I am still concerned my compressor may burn out again. I will probably get a second opinion because I don't trust how the situation was handled. If you want to do business with someone you can trust, I wouldn't recommend this company.

Charolette Jones my mother paid $1,584 for ac repair. Advised leak and was repaired by Steve yesterday 10/31/22. Air conditioner worked for approximattely five hours at most. At 9 pm ac showed 77 degrees fan turned on but did not cool 74 degrees. A/C ran fan all night. Outdoor temp was in low 60's, so no hot weather stress. She phoned air specialist, Steve repairman came out stated must have sprung another leak and that's that. She's retired on fixed income cannot afford to give away $1,584, Company repairman should have verified checked if further repairs needed which he took less than 2 hours to repair/check unit. She would have taken a loan to purchase new air conditioner instead of paying $1,584 for nothing. This company takes no responsibility for wasted repair $$$$. She phoned company advised manager would call her back at 1: 30 pm back no response. She even advised Steve yesterday she would have purchased a new A/C yesterday if advised repair was a waste of her hard earned money. Please think twice before using this company.

Two technicians promptly arrived without questions and repaired my a/c. I am extremely satisfied with the professionalism used to resolve the issue. One of our two units stopped running. Of course the SOS didn’t go out till 230 the day I called. They had a tech whose arrival time was told to me before he arrived and was on time. I was so impressed with them we are now on schedule for maintenance and some other work to be done one the two units. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM

Wow! Just wow! Would give more stars if I could! All these employees were through this one company. Just shows you great companies attract great employees. The AC fixer guy who checked out our AC was very knowledgeable. He gave us several options to choose from with different prices ranges. Made a next-day appointment with AC quote guy. Non pushy, clear with options, we expressed the need for a Saturday appt, company was able to provide Saturday at no extra charge, he reached out a few times. Never pushy. Price checked with a different company. This one beat it by a mile. Ended up getting the whole thing because we trust they'll do a great job. Install team just left. Husband checked out the new fancy AC. Said it's beautiful! Best install job ever. Install was above and beyond expectations. House is already freezing. Also included warranties. Trust these guys for your AC work.

Everyone I’ve dealt with in this company has been professional and personable. They communicate well with us and live up to their commitments. They sold us our new system and installed it, offering us various options to accommodate any budget. We chose to go all in with a new system and have had no issues. We have also contracted for regular system check up and maintenance which provides comfort and reassurance about the health of our system. Highly recommend.

The technician Frank was awesome! He was very nice and professional. Great at explaining what was going on in my A/C unit, and fixed it very quickly. They came same day! Would definitely recommend and signed up for their maintenance program.

Their response to my initial call was quick, I had an appointment the next day. My technician was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and thorough. I could not have had a better experience! Thank you so much Air Specialist!
