One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating

2023 I am editing my previous 5 star review to 2. While their techs, specifically Eduardo are spectacular their pricing is insane and/or misleading.
I had a substantial amount of work done to realize I was taken to the cleaners hard on a couple areas. Specifically, I had drains relocated from my sink to outside as well as new secondary drains put in. They sold them to me as "French Drain" (gravel filled trench meant to convey water away) so I figured $3,620 seems reasonable. They did not put in a French Drain, rather they put in a DRYWELL (gravel filled hole in the ground) sufficient to hold 2 bags of gravel which within 12 hours had filled and became standing surface water.
I also had portions of flex duct replaced/repaired which costs an outlandish $2,800. They bill replacing segments at the same rate as a full new install not to mention they didn't cut back the old duct as far as they could have. I allowed myself to be an uneducated buyer and assumed the duct material is something special, its not. This portion of the job apparently had about $2,650 to cover material markup/labor/overhead as flexible duct is only about $50 for 25 ft.

Neither of the above tasks require any special training or tools. I should have hired a plumber or GC to do these two tasks. The other work I had done did seem reasonably priced (Media cabinets installed, system with bad solder joint resoldered and charged, filtration installed, duct cleaning).

2022 Previous Review Kept For Openness: I've previously tried them and felt like they needlessly pushed upgrades and didn't shoot straight with me. in February I needed fast response so I tried them again as I was desperate. The tech that came out , Eduardo, was superb. Honest, open, explained everything and provided the exact service I needed. Called them out to my new (older) house specifically requested Eduardo and yes the cost is more than I anticipated but I feel well treated and satisfied I'm buying the services I need and not more.

Carl was professional, kind, efficient, and incredibly knowledgeable. He was very clear with pricing up front, and explained to me what had gone wrong with my unit, as well as letting me know what to look out for future issues. Highly recommend.

I had my A/c go out during the hottest time of the year. Jonas from One hour air-conditioning sent their technician who diagnosed the problem and fixed it promptly. Great service at a decent price.

Marco was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and very willing and able to answer questions. He let me know what he needed to do and why. Marco gave very good explanations for what was most likely causing the issue he repaired. I would recommend him and One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating to anyone.

I contacted One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating on Monday afternoon. They originally scheduled the appointment for Tuesday am. Monday evening they notified me they had availability and would be able to come sooner, if that worked for my schedule. The service provider was timely. He was able to quickly identify and resolve the issue. He provided me information about a semi-annual maintenance program they offered -- very informative and low pressure. Will plan to use them in the future.

One Hour A/C did not show up for our scheduled appointment today. After booking an emergency appointment and agreeing to an extra fee for being on Sunday, One Hour A/C and Heating no showed the appointment after waiting for over 4 hours. This company decided to lie and say we never made the appointment. Three family members heard the appointment being made. We will find a company that is honest and actually will follow thru with appointments.

We contacted One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating based in Houston to address a persistent odor originating from our AC unit. Despite their minimal efforts, the source of the smell remained elusive, leading them to dispatch another technician for a closer inspection. A salesperson, who claimed to be a tech, very lightly inspected our AC unit and recommended a complete replacement, stating that it was too small for the house. However, this suggestion was not relevant as the problem was only related to the odor and not the unit's cooling or heating performance.
We were initially introduced to the company's Comfort Club Membership program and advised to opt for a subscription to benefit from discounted visits and a free annual inspection and cancel the membership after three months. However, upon canceling our membership today, we received a $50 bill. According to the terms of our "membership deal," the service calls and yearly inspection were included. It appears that the tech who recommended the membership misled us, and upon speaking with customer service, they admitted that this is a common practice among the company's technicians to encourage customers to sign up for the membership. Despite the company's knowledge of such unethical practices, we were held responsible for the charges.
We called a reputable company for a second opinion and they performed a regular service that resolved the smell. Also, no need for a $24K ac replacement is needed.
Do not call or trust this company!

Tim was great. He tried to do a simple repair but our system is discontinued so a full replacement is needed. While our system was to old to be repaired, that wasn't his fault. He explained everything in detail. He worked with us to the best of his abilities with what he was able to do.

Miguel did a great job explaining to me what went on during his inspection. He was very patient with me.He also gave me suggestions as well on how to keep my HVAC system working at its best. Kudos to this young man! 5 stars!

Ace was kind and professional! He came in and got the job done within an hour. He went over everything that was wrong with my unit, broke down the cost with me and told me what to expect and do if anything went wrong moving forward. The company also kept me in the loop of where the driver was and when I can expect him to come. Very professional come and will use again.
