Russell & Abbott's own Mr. Cole Robertson delivered a quality maintenance service to the house's heating system. It was clear to me he had looked at his notes before our interaction, because I didn't have to go back over anything I'd said on the phone when I scheduled the appointment. Mr. Robertson impressed me first by knocking at the front door before going for the bell, which was a nice bit of etiquette I wasn't expecting. He inspected the unit, ran his tests, and set to fully dismantling & cleaning a heating system that had been neglected for over four years without making a mess of it. Over the course of the process, he pulled a hand full of foreign objects out of the duct, fan & housing that had clearly been there much longer then the last service. Mr. Robertson even took calls from other technicians that needed his expertise, which didn't bother me in the slightest because I took it as a sign he was the professional I wanted doing my work, not to mention the teamwork and leadership behaviors that were on display. After putting everything back together, Mr. Robertson walked me through Russell & Abbott's Comfort Club plans and payment options, which wasn't missing anything you'd come to expect from a modern business. The 1 Year Comfort Club Plan is where the value is at. Not only do you save $16 off scheduling two appointments separately over a year, but you get a 20% discount on any repair service that might be needed in addition to priority customer status should there be an emergency. Money well spent in my opinion.

The technician (Logan) was right on time to start with. Before coming into our home he immediately put on shoe covers so as not to track in any dirt. He was everything you'd hope to see in a person who performs a service for you. He was thorough, professional and polite. At the end of the service he took notes (which were emailed to us immediately) and set up my next appointment. Luckily, every person from Russell & Abbott has been very easy to work wth...

Our H&A is under warranty. Had a problem with the air conditioner. They were out the next day and fixed it.

We had a problem with our ac unit that was low on freon and the coles were freezing up so it wasn't cooling good. We called yesterday afternoon and our technician Edward Meyer was here the next day. They told us it'd be anywhere from 6pm-8pm. Mr Meyer was here before 6pm. He was very friendly, and
courteous. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it immediately. We expected the cost to be higher than what it was. We are very pleased with the service and the total expense. We will recommend Russell and Abbott to our family and friends.
We will be able to sleep cool tonight.

Our technician, Jeff did a great job inspecting and cleaning my HVAC system. Jeff showed great attention to detail while he performed his inspections and cleaning. Jeff also took the time to answer any question I had. I was very pleased with the service I received from Russell & Abbott.

Last update: I'm adding a star back. For my spring service they scheduled a weekend appointment with no problem, so whatever the issue was before it looks like they fixed it. I would still be careful about prepaying them, their customer service slipped once they already had my money, which is a shame since that's what impressed me in the beginning. So overall a better company than others in the area as long as you don't pay anything in advance.

Update: they're starting to get shady. While the tech was here he talked me into a seasonal service plan. It sounded great. We're not available until the evenings so I checked with him and he assured me that they'll work with my schedule. I'm guessing he said whatever he needed to get a commission check. I tried to schedule my service and was informed that they'll only come out m-f until 4:30 at the latest. They also weren't going to issue a refund for a service we couldn't use. I finally convinced them to schedule a later appointment for us. One of the high points in the past was their outstanding customer service but if they're going to start misleading customers to sell plans then that changes things. They still do great work but it looks like we need to start being more careful if we decide to hire them. I'm just going to assume that they'll use the maintenance service to try and sell me a new unit.

He fixed my ac quickly and at a reasonable price. He showed up on time and the entire visit took less than 30 minutes. A lot of other places would have tried to sell me a brand new unit with their special in house financing so it was nice not having to deal with that.
