J.A. Sauer, Co. Heating & Air Conditioning

We have had J.A. Sauer maintain our heating and air conditioning for nearly 20 years- 15 years at our old house and 3 at our new one. They have been nothing but prompt and professional. We recommended them to the people we sold our house to. We will continue to have an annual service contract with them.

Got a quote for a carrier AC unit from Mark. The overall attitude was very unprofessional as Mark did not provide details / clear answers on how installation would happen (on ground or on frame). Upon asking his response was, that I was asking too many questions and no one goes into such details on the installation. Secondly, Mark also mentioned that the company would not come out in Spring to do a full start even though it would be too cold in Nov. to start the unit. (All other vendors mentioned that they would come out in Spring to ensure that the unit was fully working). His response was that they would add the refringent and that's it. Not sure how they would handle warranty if this is the attitude. I finally went and got a Trane unit.

Bill did our heating tune up. He was very friendly and did a wonderful job. He answered all the questions I had and was very neat and clean (even wore foot booties so he didn't dirty the carpet). The office staff was very good with a friendly reminder call the day before and a call in the morning to let me know he was on his way.

Our AC unit was no longer working and we saw JA Sauer on Angies List. They came and replaced the compressor. We continued to have problems with the unit and the next technician found broken service caps. They took ownership of them being broken from the first inspection of the unit and replaced them as well as filling the unit with refrigerant. Very honest company and easy to work with. I would highly recommend them.

Excellent company. Professional through and through. Fair too. They helped us navigate a problematic zone valve issue and all the subsequent issues with our heating system. We plan to continue using JA Sauer for all our heating needs going forward as well!

Had two instances dealing with these guys and both were complete "Home Runs". First one was with a gas boiler they installed in another house and they went above and beyond to honor the warranty for a new part and complete the repair in a timely fashion.

Second time I called them to fix my gas furnace when it was 15 F outside. Not only was I called back in 15 minutes, A service man showed up in 45 minutes, troubleshot the problem, fixed it and was on his way in little over an hour. These guys are , like another ad says are "THE GOOD GUYS"..... give em a try, you WILL NOT be sorry!

Our furnace stopped working on a December night when the outside temperature was about 10 degrees. Shortly after my call to J.A. Sauer the tech arrived to diagnose the problem. A faulty thermostat was the problem and a temporary unit was installed. By the end of the day the house was warm. A new digital thermostat has been installed. We remain very satisfied with J.A. Sauer, Co.

We were so impressed by the work done by the JASauer team, from initial quote to the install finishing touches! Our home was hit with flooding, leaving over four feet of water in the basement, and both the furnace and AC units totaled. JASauer was quick to respond to our estimate request, and sent out a very knowledgeable and friendly assessor. Of the quotes we received, JASauer's was the only estimator who demonstrated thorough efforts to assure that we would have the correct size furnace & AC unit. After we were given a reasonably priced tier of options, we were happy to move forward with the order. On top of everything, JASauer hustled to schedule our install for the same week. Given our situation, this was a huge step forward in getting our home put back together after the flood, and a huge relief. Overall the team at JASauer is above and beyond professional and courteous, and we would be happy to work with them again anytime.

Our boiler broke on one of the coldest days of the year and just a day before a winter storm dumped 10" of snow. Initially, it seemed like it was going to take 2-3 days to get the parts needed for the repair. We were so stressed about keeping our kids warm and pipes intact. Thankfully, Gerald was our technician. He called around to part stores for hours until finding one was willing to reopen on a Saturday night. He then waited at the store for the part and stayed until ~11 PM making the repair ahead of the storm. I did not realize that this quality of service existed in Pittsburgh. I would have given 6 stars if it had let me.

Both dispatcher and technician were very professional, friendly and competent. The technician was at my house within 3 hours on a Saturday and promptly fixed the problem. He made the cost known before doing the work and it was exactly correct.
