The two technicians who were out to service my unit were Tom and Randy. They were both thorough, knowledgeable and answered all of the questions that i had. They were prompt on their arrival time and took every precaution to not drag dirt into the house! I would highly recommend them for any HVAC services needed!
Jan 2021 with updates AVOID Hannabery (!) - have ads for gas water heaters but when asked about plumbing permits /safety inspections - "never do them" - and homeowner cannot get them either as Hannabery is unregistered for plumbing in Lower Macungie township, PA (LMT)
They may not be legal in other PA townships / cities for ANY plumbing because the requirements are similar. Check. ( This is not the same as PA state HIC registration). ---------- Update 4/20/2021 Try E.F.Laudenslager instead. They are registered in LMT - and " satisfy expectations". They have now installed my gas water heater. Properly. See YELP review.
Laudenslager are professional, polite, price competitive - and competent.
They actually read my email through - the first time - and responded accurately to answer all my few simple technical questions - the first time - with no need to repeatedly ask the same unanswered/ignored questions.
Wish I found them earlier. ---------- LMT ordinance § 13-206 The homeowner is also liable ( $1000 fine) if they hire people not registered with LMT or do not get the permits. Without a permit / inspections - homeowner's insurance is not valid.
I asked Hannabery for quotes for a power vent gas water heater and power vent ( 2 pipe) gas furnace - needing the pvc vent pipes to be installed from scratch out the sidewalls of the house.
Hannabery said they never apply for plumbing permits (!)
Ok so I tried to apply for the plumbing permit myself and discovered that Hannabery cannot legally do the work because they are not actively registered for plumbing work in LMT. I cannot risk a $1000 fine or a failed inspection.
They told me that they will not apply for the ($60 only) LMT plumbing license and said they "don't have the master plumber papers anyway" (!) - and then stopped returning my calls because they said I asked too many questions. (!) They then said they withdrew the quotes they had issued for both the furnace and the water heater.
I had finally got a revised water heater quote which at last just stated in a couple of lines what they were actually going to do - without typos or incorrect model numbers.
I had almost got a revised furnace quote ( vent on sidewall of house ? or vent on back wall of house ? - I wanted no more "detail" than that + model numbers)
- once I finally got the rep to realize that building code requires 4ft chimney distances from an openable window, not 1 ft as he "assumed" but refused to write down. Scary.
This means the furnace chimney has to go out the side of my house and could not go out the back of it because of too many windows there. It would require an extra 35ft each way of pvc chimney in my basement that he had not counted on - even though he visited my house.
Then they shut me out and withdrew the quotes. I am shocked.
If I had not questioned anything I would today have an installation with a pvc chimney vent right under an openable window that would fail inspection and would be in a dispute where it would be my "fault" and the "solution" would be to brick up two windows of my house. In the meantime my "new" furnace and water heater would be red tagged and shut down in a freezing house. On top of that I might have been fined $1000 by LMT for hiring an unregistered contractor.
Instead of thanking me for respectfully pointing all this out in writing - in advance - to inform revised price quotes - they refuse to discuss or install the systems now that their rep sees (?) the actual scope of the work to be done - and that PA townships/cities require registrations (!) I called and left 2 messages for the manager but calls were not returned so I stopped. - Feb 2021 I had hoped this post would help others avoid this experience with Hannabery - or that a manager would fix this but it now seems they want to ignore it - so beware
2 polite voicemails / 2 emails to the rep / 1 pointing out the permit issue (no responses) - before resorting to posting this UNDISPUTED and factual review - is not harassment.
I will not contact them again. Am very disappointed in your company.
Whole house A/C unit was inop heading into a heat wave. Scheduled the appointment and the technician was here promptly the next morning. He quickly diagnosed, replaced a faulty part ( which was covered under warranty ) checked & inspected the rest of the unit. I was fearing the worst with the bill and was pleasantly surprised ALL in 155.50. Tech was very friendly and honest. Stand up company with great people. I recommend Hannabery HVAC!
Hannaberry has been my HVAC service for many years. I have been enrolled in their scheduled maintenance program for as long as I have had the Hannaberry installed unit. Maybe 10 years or more. They have kept my unit in top shape and costs low. Reliable , cost effective, loyal. That’s why I choose Hannabery. Great service.
Hannabery did a great job replacing my 5 ton heat pump / AC. Their price was more competitive than the other quotes I received for comparable equipment and they installed it in less than a day. I highly recommend!
It's been 17 years that Hannabery has been taking care of my heating and ac. I will always use them. From the Girls in the office and the Technitions that come out, they have always been very professional and they know what my HVAC needs. This Company has always been there for me. They are the best of the best, here in the Poconos.
Had a three unit mini split installed upstairs. Despite covid related supply chain disruptions and delays, they did a good job and were very willing to make things right. Install was well done. Ty
We have a Hannabery installed HVAC system for the past 10 years. It has always provided great cooling in the summer and heating in the winter. Over the past 10 years we have had the unit / system serviced by their team three times. They have always been on time, courteous, clean, and respectful of our home. Once for a annual service and full system cleaning, and the other two were to replace blower motors (five years apart) that had failed. Just like any other system in your house, it need to be maintained to work as designed.
Did a great job! Replaced both a/c unit & furnace & had to repair & move & add so much. So relieved to be safe & have the house more efficient, so glad we went with them!
